    Great video. Excellent presentation from a fellow scouser. Just subbed. I have bought this. Picked it up for 200. Bought the footprint too. My only bug bear is the height. It needs another 2-3 inches. However I can put up with it as it handles superbly in the wind. For some reason it only comes with 12 pegs which isn’t really enough. I added a few more. It’s a solid 4 season tent.

    • @borderraiders
      @borderraiders  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Nice one Dave, appreciate the support 👌 completely agree on the height, just that extra 2-3 inches to stop the head touching and the necessary hunch is all it needed and shouldn’t imagine that would have effected performance to much. Seems to be a trend, not providing the correct amount of pegs, multiple brands do it🤦‍♂️ all the best - BR

    Hi Keith, looks like a nice tent, I have an Allak 2 for winter which is out of this world apart from the price and the weight, but winter is normally a heavy bag anyway. This looks like a nice tent, tunnel tents seem to be a lot more popular, the Allak is easy to put up apart from in the wind, but for the price this looks great, I’ve got 4 tents and that really should be enough, but I might have one more in me 😂 another great video 👍all the best, Tito

    • @borderraiders
      @borderraiders  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We would love an Allak Tito but like you said the price is eye watering, looks like an unbelievable rock solid tent though. Yeah tunnel tents do seem to be making abit of a comeback, like anything really trends come and goes. And when it comes to tents mate you can never have too many 😂 All the best - BR

    My abisko lite 2 is low profile and at 66 i,m beginning to struggle with my flexibility.the blizzard looks great and a lot of tent for the money.cheers for the first look review.

    • @borderraiders
      @borderraiders  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Amazing to hear you are still getting out there and smashing it 🙌 looks great the Abisko lite 2 and its a tent we seriously considered. The blizzard looks like an affordable alternative in reality, the trade off being a little bit more weight and less room, but at less than half the price it could be a great option! All the best - BR

    I would certainly look at this tent. I'm looking to replace my old Stoer 2 as the pole cracked at Scout camp last week and ripped a 6 inch gash in the pole sleeve. I made a quick fix on camp (as it was pelting It down) and that lasted until we struck camp, but at 17 years old, I don't think the tent is worth a perminant fix. Great review, cheers.

    • @borderraiders
      @borderraiders  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds like you had a nightmare there mate but managed to make the best of a bad situation, well done 👏 yeah hard to say really isn’t it, whilst it may be 17 I should imagine it holds a lot of sentimental value, but that has to be balanced against performance. Thanks for watching and all the best - BR

    Really contemplated getting this as was in the market for a 4 season tent but opted for a used like new Fjallraven abisko lite 2. Quite a bit more money than the blizzard tho. The blizzard does look a cracking tent tho especially for £200

    • @borderraiders
      @borderraiders  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah nice well you’ve got yourself the best in class and yeah for sure a considerable amount more but you are buying a tried and tested bit of kit, you’ll love that tent! • @steviesteve750
    @steviesteve750 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hoolie same design, but cheaper and doesn't fit as close to the ground. However, I'd be interested in what you'd make of the panacea 2? It's bigger again inside and sturdy as you'd want if you use the trekking poles.

    • @borderraiders
      @borderraiders  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah the Hoolie is a tunnel tent also but upon closer inspection there are a fair few differences when it comes to the design, but overall I suppose it’s a beefed up 4 season version. Really like the look of the panacea mate, it looks a cracking tent, really think they are onto something with the trekking pole reinforcement options. It definitely is bigger like you said but that does come with a weight penalty. It will be really interesting to see if the panacea over time becomes the new Helm 2 when it comes to popularity and reputation! All the best - BR

    Good video, found it as Im looking at getting this tent, or something that gives equal bang for the buck. Hoping you might be able to help me in deciding please..... Im currently using 183x50cm rectangular sleeping mats, and not sure if it would fit two side by side, with how it tapers.... Looks like it might just about manage it. What width is the pad you were using? Think might be able to get away with the combined 100cm width at the foot end?

    • @borderraiders
      @borderraiders  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching! For exact specifications you’ll have to head over to terra nova and look up the dimensions on their website. The thermarest mat used is a wide and we have had a second regular Neoair xlite next to it for a night. Very snug and does overlap on parts. 2 regular tapered pads should be more comfortable. • @borderraiders
      @borderraiders  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is narrow towards the foot end, as with all tents the if it states 2 man it generally means 1 person + kit, this is pretty common across the board. Yeah it is £460 on the website as stated in the video, don’t look on the website do a simple search on Google and if available it tents to come in considerably cheaper
