Thank you, Marie. I got a half yard of 10 fall fabrics that were steeply discounted. I made your autumn table runner, then 6 placemats with the scraps, then a patchwork double oven mitt and potholder. Now I’ll make these mug rug/coasters with the scraps. I’m really getting my money’s worth out of my autumn fabrics. Thank you for the inspiration and tutorials!! My projects have turned out beautifully. I enjoy your channel very much and look forward to your next videos!
Hi Marie The Northeast provides the most beautiful fall colors. This fabric is a fabulous representation. I am going to make a few for a friend just because.. I love to gift for no reason , really. ❤ Enjoy your Sunday.
I'm watching your Fall videos. I am worried that i may not be to good at sewing inside a leaf shapes...lol. This is how i make a few dollars by doing sewing projects that I see on your channel ! Thank you for teachers like you!
You can do it! The leaves are a bit trickier than a shape such as a circle or a square, but after the first one, it really isn’t that difficult as long as you have the right foot on your sewing machine. If you have one that’s clear plastic, or one that is open so that you can see, it will work a whole lot better. But remember, we are always more critical of our work than other people are. So if you get sewing along, and your stitching goes off to the side a little bit, don’t worry or stress… just bring it back where it needs to be and keep going, because I bet no one else would ever notice. Of course, I would give it a try with a leaf shape placed on a scrap piece of fabric before starting on the actual mug rug. Good luck, you can do this, I know you can! ✂️🧵💕🪡
ohhhhhhh, I am so glad I found your channel. I am absolutely overwhelmed with scraps of every description and cannot bring myself to dump them. Now I have a plan, thank you. Going back to binge your channel. You give me hope...
It's me again! I'm going tell you a little story. I started this channel because I had so many scraps and I wanted to challenge myself to make as many items in a year using my scraps as I could. I was bound and determined to lower the number of scraps that I have. I have to tell you that in all honesty I have more scraps now than when I started, ha ha. I wish you the best of luck with your scrap pile, though! It's fun to use them even if they do multiply!
Thank you Marie beautiful tutorial. Thank you for the tip with the batting. I wondered but never took the time to look it up why some times I had batting poking out and others times I did not. God bless and I am looking forward to more of you scrappy creations.
You are so welcome! This was a really fun project and I was just saying to someone the other day that I need to start on some Autumn projects because i'm so behind this year! I'm glad you enjoyed this and I appreciate you leaving a comment for me!
I'm glad you like them! How fun, I'm so happy to hear that you tried them and that they came out beautifully! Your comment made me smile - that you're new to sewing and that you chose one of my videos to help you learn. Thanks for watching and also for taking the time to leave me a comment! Happy Sewing!
I love Fall colors. Hello Marie, hope you are doing well. Have you ever ordered from a store called, The Fat Quarter Shop? I just came across it. I haven't ordered anything yet. I just checked it out online. So far, I like what I see. They have very nice charm packs at low prices. Very nice fabric to choose from as well.
I have ordered from Fat Quarter Shop many times and love them. They have daily flash sales where I've gotten quite a few items for a great price. They also have a Utube channel.
Hi Marie! Great designs for the mug rugs. Thanks for the link to the leaves. 🍂🍂 I like the way you tied them up. I’ve made some for my friend & her husband before with red, white & blue designs & woodland animals for him. Nice gift for a man.
I love mug rugs, and these are adorable. I have some fabric very similar to your leaf fabric, and it looks so cute in mug rugs. I've made a couple (not from this idea yet) so far.
Hi sweetheart! Take your time and at your own pace. I missed a What’s Up Wednesday while you were away, too so that’s one less you have to look for, lol. Hugs!
I'm a newbie to sewing/quilting. This is adorable. Thank you, I liked how you explain everything it was easy for me to understand. I subscribed so I'll go see what you've already done and I can't wait for future projects 😊 Thank you ❤
Thank you, Jamie! They were so fun to make. I used to dread appliqué, but now I actually love it! Of course, a person could make these without the appliqué, and just let the fabric be the star of the show! 🍁🪡
I love your fall decor! Love your mug rugs! Maybe once I’ve finished your notebook covers & jar openers I should be able to “carve” out some time for these! 😉 I enjoy appliquéing individual shapes. Thanks for the demo!! BTW, love your new do! 🥰 and I’ve a date with Frank (Longo) today! Jealous? 🤣
You’re going to be a busy lady catching up on all that, haha!!! 🍁❤️🥰🍂 Frank Longo…. Why YES! I’m terribly jealous since it’s been over 2 years since I’ve done one of his weekend crossword puzzles. Enjoy it for me! ✍️🤔🧩
I hope you have fun sewing some - they're a very enjoyable project. Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave me a comment. Happy sewing! ✂️🪡🧵
As a newbie to this, I’m going to give it a try. You’re instructions are are lovely and clear. Will the appliqué fray, sorry if this a silly question, just learning.
Hi Jenny! If you use the heat and bond lite, as I show, and stitch close to the edge, it may fray a little bit, but for me, that’s the look I’m going for. It won’t come un-sewn, though. Mine haven’t and they’ve been washed many times. Happy sewing! 💕🪡✂️🧵

Wow, it sounds like you’re getting your money’s worth out of that deeply discounted fabric - yay! 🥰
@@MariesScrappyCreations It’s the best, right? Next project with the remaining scraps is the pie cozy. My table will look beautiful!
@@adoral.libertucci2647 it will be GORGEOUS! 🍁❤️🍂

I agree. I live in the northeast as well.
You sound like me, because I love to sew up items to gift “just because”, too. You’re so sweet!
