Your thoughts on perseverance make this video a keeper. It will come in handy when the occasion arises that I may need a pep talk. Thoroughly enjoyed the history lesson on the handcarts. My 2 girls participated in a handcart walk when they were in young women's. There was complaining but overall, it was a good experience for them.
I started this journey with you Jake at the same time I was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer last year; I live in Wyoming (Sheridan) and have travelled many times along that stretch between Casper and Rawlings (H287) on my way back to CA. You’ve been an inspiration to me on my own journey and in that year I have regained my Christian faith which has been one of the blessings of having this disease. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your long-time support, especially considering the battles you've been fighting. I hope watching our videos had been a bit of a diversion through this difficult year and I hope good health is on the horizon. You are the real inspiration and I pray that you find the strength to keep fighting. If I've learned anything this last year it's that perseverance isn't easy, but it's always worth it. God bless you!
Wyoming sure is the wide open spaces! Loved your end message about perseverance, Jake! Continued safe travels on your way home! Love from Pennsylvania 💕🌷🐻
Your words of inspiration are greatly appreciated; I can't wait to share this video with our 21 year old granddaughter. She's an amazing young lady but your words are so "strong" and meaningful that I must share them with her. Thank you. God bless you.
When you asked about a person I thought of as successful, it was my sons and my husband. Their stories are long, brave and sometimes frightening. All three of them have hit walls, gotten back up and kept pushing through. They are kind and honorable men. And they are my heroes for never giving up. Your talk about perseverance came from the epistle of Paul to the Romans, I think. Perseverance makes us stronger, builds character and keeps us focused. So thank you for being who you are and teaching us as you ride.
You're welcome and thank you for your support and encouragement. It means a lot! It's beautiful that you thought of your husband and sons when you thought of people who are successful and don't give up but I'm sure if I asked any of them they would give the credit to you. You have given them the strength and encouragement to keep going as only a mother can. If they are kind and honorable it's because you taught them how to be and expected nothing less. My mom wouldn't take credit either, but she deserves it nonetheless. Be proud of them but also be proud of yourself. 😀
This journey has almost come full circle Jake, I'm sad as I want it to keep going, I've been with you all the way, though I don't comment as much, but I'm, we're all with you in spirit, pushing you on, but I'm looking forward to your homecoming, I will cry, but joyful happy tears, the boys will, oh gosh, I'm tearing up now just thinking about them meeting up with your Bella, you meeting up with Bella!!! ❤ Safe stepping to the end.
Thank you so much for your long-time support and for watching and cheering us on from a distance. It means everything. And while Year of the Mustang journey will soon end (and yes, Bella will be joining us in a few days), the TH-cam channel will continue and I have lots of new adventures involving my mustangs planned for next year and beyond. I hope you'll stick around. 😁
We visited Wyoming this past summer and traveled the Oregon/Mormon trail. Our family has ancestors that were members of the Willie hand cart company. Visiting Martin's Cove and seeing their names on the handcart list was a very special experience for us. They became more than just a name in our family tree. So glad that these important historical places are being recognized and preserved for future generations. The beauty of Wyoming landscapes is breath taking. It has been wonderful following along with you and your beautiful horses on this amazing journey. I hope you have plans for more videos. I will miss the weekly updates.
That is so cool that you got to see the names of your ancestors and stand where they stood remembering their sacrifice. The whole area is both sobering and inspiring. And yes, while the Year of the Mustang journey will soon come to an end, this TH-cam channel will continue with a lot more mustang adventures in the works. Thanks for all your support and stay tuned! 😁
It would do many good, to learn to persevere. All to often they quit to soon. Victory may have just been around the next turn or over the next hurtle, but they'll never know - they quit! Great video. See you next week Jake! Lee
I loved this video, but the Best part of the video is when you shared about Perseverance! It really resonated with me and I felt as though God was speaking to my soul ❤️. Thank you for sharing these words of wisdom. I don't know if you wrote them yourself or someone else, it doesn't matter because the words were true and powerful! Thank you ☺️
Thank you for sharing a bit of the history on the pioneers and Martin's Cove. Very interesting. Your preserverance is so inspiring. I look forward to your weekly updates. Can't wait for your next message on courage. Carry on!
Thanks you so much for your amazing messages. So much wisdom in one so young. You words are truly inspiring ❣️ I have been on this journey with you almost since you started & I will really miss your messages when it’s over 🥺Happy Trails to you & the boys!
Thank you so much for your long-time support. It means so much that you've stuck with me and the boys through the past 14 months. And yes, while the Year of the Mustang journey will soon come to an end, this TH-cam channel will continue with a lot more mustang adventures in the works. Thanks for all your support and stay tuned! 😁
You are so incredibly inspirational to me.I wish I could find someone to do this with because I want to ride like you are maybe not 6000 miles, but at least through few sdates. With my mustang
How exciting your almost home! You have a bright energy in this video. I especially like the area your in! Congratulations on this journey. Look Looking forward to seeing you at home and for what's to come! Way to go Jake!
Jake, although I love all your videos, this was one of my favorites with your message. For some reason it reminded me of your horse. I can't remember if it was Denver or Eddie who persevered when everybody else gave up on him and he's still going one foot in front of the other. You truly have proven the perseverance of a mustang yourself, the beauty, the landscape, and the love of very good friends. Thank you jake! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving
It was Eddy who had a rod go through his back leg and the vet and other experts said he should be put down because he'd never be able to walk again. The lady at the rescue center who adopted him recognized his perseverance and she told him that if he would keep fighting, so would she. Now he's walked 6000 miles on that leg, and proved all the experts wrong. It seems impossible until it's done is as much about my mustangs as it is about me. I'm so proud of them and grateful to folks like you who have supported us all along the way.
@jakeharvath Well Eddie is one amazing mustang I Love his story. I love your amazing journey and I will keep following you until there is no more videos to be had. Hopefully they keep coming and coming. Thank you Jake. Take care of yourself and those beautiful horses. You've done an amazing job and I'm very excited to see Belle when she's ready to come back and complete this journey with you
Thank the good Lord for bridges, I can't imagine what our fore father's went through. Tough, Tough. Thanks for sharing, I worked with a guy in Cody who bought to of those mustangs, beautiful horses. Really spiritual to witness them running wild. Be blessed and be a blessing.
Your journey is such a joy for me. For 15 years I have been mostly in bed or resting on sofa due to several diseases. Won’t bore you with names and pain each causes. God has taken care of me. I wake each day to see what I’m capable of, then I start studying HIS WORD, watching sermons on utube. Then I get to enjoy several horse related sites. Those give me happiness. I haven’t ridden in 13 years. Your travels are something I would have enjoyed. Seeing GODS BEAUTIFUL WORLD. Thank you for sharing. Prayers for your safety and GODS GRACE AND MERCY 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you for your support and kind words of encouragement. It means a lot! You clearly embody perseverance and I know the Lord will continue to watch over you and give you strength to keep going. Your faith is an inspiration!
Thank you for your very inspirational words. Yes one day at a time, sometimes 1 hour at a time. Your journey will be coming to an end soon. I so look forward to your videos every week. Hopefully you have some future plans of more videos. Safe travels. HAPPY THANKSGIVING! God bless you.
Thanks so much for your support and encouragement. It means a lot! And yes, while the Year of the Mustang journey will soon come to an end, this TH-cam channel will continue with a lot more mustang and life adventures in the works. Thanks for all your support and stay tuned! 😁
Your Mustangs are awesome animals! Wyoming is sure wide open country! That was interesting about the history of the hand carts and the museum. Pioneers were certainly a hardier breed then folks are today. Your dinner looks delicious!! Great message about perseverance, Jake! You are a very special person, and I feel privileged to be able to follow you on your journey. Safe continued travels toward home! Love from Pennsylvania 💕🌷🐻
I know you take great care of your mustangs and their hooves and shoes. Have you had any issues when they needed vet care? I’ve been following you from the beginning of your journey and will continue with you. You and your mustangs are an inspiration in perseverance.
A few times we've required vet care but it always ended up being something fairly mild and treatable. Luckily we've always been able to get into a vet right away and not lost more than a day or two once we got seen. I feel incredibly blessed that nothing serious happened and have to give a lot of credit to the hardiness of mustangs. They really are tough as nails!
@@jakeharvath yes they are and so are you! Your journey with your mustangs has hopefully inspired others like yourself. Blessings for you and your mustangs and all those who have been helping you on your journey.
Not sure if you have or not, would you be able to tell us about the mustang neck freeze brand? Do they all get the same, is it as well as an owners brand? Asking just cause I don't know. Kind regards Conor from the UK
I’ve been to Evanston. Tiny town but High school state football champs most years. I noticed there were no children. When I asked where they were. It was explained to me that young men I thought were grown were teenagers. “Bohunks”, very large people from Norway and Sweden I believe. Miners, big and strong.
Bella is being brought to us the day after Thanksgiving by my friend Jaxxon and yes I will be filming it. She will be riding the last week with us so she can finish Year of the Mustang with her boys, just like we started. Thanks for watching and for your support!
My horses are mustangs and wild horses have evolved to have the toughest feet of any breed so they normally don't get shoed. But I've kept them in shoes this whole trip because we walk on so much asphalt and other difficult surfaces that can be hard on their hooves. They're both on their 8😢h set if shoes and since I'm a farrier I've been able to do all their hoof care myself. Once they get home they'll go back to being shoeless.
I would love me a mustang actually a couple. I always enjoy your videos. You were like a real cowboy no joke about you.jake beautiful country😊 what exactly is your purpose of doing this? I still don’t get it. I don’t understand the point you’re trying to make by going to every state on horseback. I don’t understand it. What are you learning from it? What are you trying to get out of it because it’s gotta be hard on you mentally, I think
The mission of Year of the Mustang was to show the world the usefulness, toughness and willingness of mustangs. There are over 60,000 mustangs in government holding and my goal is to encourage people to consider adopting one by showing them just what a mustang can really do. When we reach home Denver and Eddy will have travelled 6000 miles over every imaginable terrain and climate, dealt with all kinds of obstacles and hazards and continued to move forward without complaint. They are the epitome of perseverance. And as for me, I've wanted to cross the country on horseback since I was a teenager. I dreamed about it and planned it for many years. Thanks for the comments on the horses and I laughed out loud when you said in your dry humor “that’s why they call it horsing around “.
Perseverance - Man you hit it on the nail. Well done.
Thank you and thanks for watching and for your support.
Godspeed Jake and the horses. With you in Spirit all the way brother. Keep on keeping on.

I loved your commentary on perseverance. It makes my heart swell to see Wyoming again. Please kiss that big sky for me. ❤

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) brands the Mustangs when they are gathered from the wild. The brand tells which state or area the horse is from.
Wow! So inspiring. Thank you
You are so welcome!
Jake, you are one amazing young man. ❤️🐴🤠🐴❤️
Playing RDR 2 yesterday, I'm with you in spirit.
