I enjoyed this piece, but was disappointed not to see 3 things… 1-their favorite saddles. 2-their personal saddles. 3- “western values” men don’t wear their hat indoors!
❤️❤️❤️
Wow, incredible!
Thanks for the video Jake. They have created a legacy, hope they find an apprentice to pass their knowledge on.
God bless ✝️✝️✝️ The art is beautiful!!!
Absolutely amazing. This is a dying art.
Wow so amazing!
🥰 I love they want to teach others this craft.
❤
Beautiful craftsmanship! It would be a pleasure to own one of their saddles.
I think that young man is an soul .I trulely Admire his spirit an letting nothing stop his goal .kudos to you my friend.

My father always said it's worth what someone will pay for it.❤i love this
I would love to learn how to make one of these saddles. I wouldnt be good but i think that would be fun
If i was a billionaire, i'd buy multiple of these saddles. they are beautiful
That’s awesome!
deve ser a sela do cavalo do trump
Excellent and educational, thank you
Oh man....I loved this video. I sawnthese people at a couple of the Arab shows I was to. Their artistry in saddles is astounding... I always would have loved to have one of their saddles on my show horses... I hope I can meet them someday. I would love to go just sit and watch them create their saddles. I am also a wood carver. So this is very Interesting. God bless you for doing this video, and God bless them for their beautiful talents and attention to detail. Mellanie from Pennsylvania
Jake, Thanks for this video! I knew of the Skyhorses work and had seen a saddle they made of elephant hide. Their work is incredible! I was just asked to make a set of knife sheaths and a sword scabbard out of elephant hide so thought I might make a call to your friends there and ask them for any pointers when using elephant hide. If I was younger I would jump at an opportunity to do an apprenticeship with this couple. AI will never replace their trade.
Special addition to your life😊
they build some master pieces, beautiful work
Change "Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature old things are passed away and behold all things are become new"
When I was riding in the Black hills of South Dakota I got to meet the man that made all the tack for dancing with The wolves movie and it was awesome he had most of the tack there at his place in the cabin. He worked on some of my tack that broke on me while I was riding and it's still holding.
Truly incredible leatherwork and artistry. Thanks for sharing these artist's stories.
WOW! ❤❤
Great video, thank you for sharing! A bit of trivia. The only saddletree factory museum possibly in the world is located in Madison lndiana. It was the Schroeder saddletree factory. Was in business for over 100years.
Phenomenal workmanship! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you jake. This was not only a fun but very educational video. 100 year's ago those tools were made and they will probably last another hundred as they are made. So well. Not like nowadays. There is so much work that could go into a saddle and it's wonderful to know you can have one made to however you would like to have it done. Do they do other things other than just saddles like bridles and chaps other leather products? They are wonderful people and so smart and what an amazing gift and talent to have. Thanks jake. Love your videos❤
So cool to be able to go back & do video with them. Very interesting!! Did not know how much went into making a Western saddle. I have more appreciation for Western saddles now. I truly hope that Lisa finds an apprentice to continue their business & love ❤❤ of making saddles.
As always -time well spent in your world! Thank you so very much for taking me along for the ride!
I’m so glad you’ve included these artists in your series.
Wow. I would have expected at least 4 well bred horses with it. Just kidding…. Nice saddles, absolutely beautiful workmanship
Hi Jake. Thank you for the wealth of knowledge and information. Unfortunately I won't be making such a journey on horse back because 1: I'm 63 years old and 2: I don't have a horse. But I do take lessons twice a month the last 3.5 year's and I thoroughly enjoy it 🥰. Looking forward to future videos. Until then adios 🤠
You & yours rock, Jake. We had trouble getting your segments in the right sequence but the journey is so cool it mattered not. Right now we are watching you on the return journey in PA. We used to live bon the road back in the day but that was in a homemade camper. Watching you guys feels a bit nostalgic but on horseback? Better you than us young fella! 😏
I really would like to do this. But I have no riding experience. I have no horse neither...
Nothing much in your videos about natives who lived here before “pioneering” and colonising means land from people. Plain Indians were riding and hunting bisons on horses before arrival of settlers
You touched on what I was thinking. Some can have a animal that can withstand all for such a trip even if it's only 50 miles but, some people can't handle that same trip. Some can't be alone or have what it takes to take that trip. It's not for everyone as well as the horse.
Exactly
whooooos yueall fathaaa.... presenth .. fohrenth.. thats freeeee. eahm must knoh
Riders & horses need to be in good physical condition. Long rides are not as easy as a lot think. You better be able to Dr. & shoe your horse. Good idea to know natural meds for yourself. And know how to & what to on pack your horses. This young man's advice can teach many if they will just listen.
I have a cousin who has ridden the Tevis cup many years. I believe she would agree with "condition your horse first!" The hardest is when she has ridden a horse on a long ride, and the horse still wants to go, bu can't do it anymore. They want to be with you. They know and trust you, and always will. Making them still feel valued and part of the herd is also needed.
Eeehhh this sounds like beginning advice I complete in endurance riding conditioning your horse is easy for a long ride but endurance riding not so much
The wisest advice for anyone that loves your horses and knows they need conditioning just as a marathon runner does. Keep posting your advice and adventures.
I'm curious Jake, if you did a 600 mile long ride prior to setting out on your journey? I totally agree with the sentiment of the 1/10th rule, however I think a person should have enough experience to be honest about how confident they are in the their skills and ability prior to setting out to accomplish a feat.
Honestly no, I’m encouraging people to learn from where I went wrong. I had however packed a lot and had done trips over 200 miles.
Very solid advice, Jake! How is it to be back home?? 💙🐴🐴💙
It’s good. I’ve been doing some cool stuff!
This is sound advice. You cannot compete in the Iditarod Sled dog race without first having completed shorter mid-distance races. And you must complete in shorter distance races to compete in a mid-distance race.
I followed your whole journey ❤🎉 you are amazing! God Bless You 🙏
Wisdom is earned, unless of course, a smart guy informed you first
❤️
Love every video. All I can say is WOW, AMAZING. I am in awe of what you and your horses accomplished.
