Happy for you man. I’d buy you a beer if I could. Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge with the rest of us. Looking forward to more videos. Cheers from Guam 🇬🇺.
Ok, hold on. You're in Germany and drinking Sam Adams? Seriously though, great information that I'm sure many of us land cruiser owners can use as we troubleshoot brake issues.
Hey, Sorry to post on an old video, but Im doing a rebuild on a FJ80 and have no rear brake engagement. Front work awesome. Looking around the vehicle, bleeding it like crazy, verifying the LSPV lift bracket, trying it in different spots. I found the jam nut on the booster to the brake pedal, of the clevis about 2 inches. So now Im thinking I may have booster rigging problem as well I inherited. What Im trying to figure out, wouldn't the longer booster rod push in the master cylinder further? Im going to mess with rigging it and see what pressures I can get.
TLC94LS. If you had a longer push rod in your booster you would feel it in your front brakes an they would possibly be dragging. My 1st question is your vehicle lifted,2nd question, what does your peddle feel like? 3rd, when you bleed your rear wheel cylinder is there fluid coming from them. 4th are your rear shoes adjusted properly?
Thanks for the reply, yes its lifted, I put on the Dobinson Lift bracket, pedal feels great. Front works great. Fluid is coming out of rear disc calipers. I just ordered a new LSPV and the LEED PSI gauge set. So well see if that's is any change. @@landcruisernut8654
Happy you got it figured out and registered. Bet you know more about brakes ever lol. Really enjoy your vids. Put them to use on my 91 LC. Steering box should be fun!
Jim, my brake knowledge is far superior now than I could have ever imagined. The guys at Leed brakes are really the heroes to this because at some point I did not know which direction to go.
I have this 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80 (gasoline) and has a problem related to the ABS. When the vehicle almost comes to a complete stop, the brake pedal vibrates with a sound and tends to drive the vehicle to the right. If I disable the ABS, this concern does not happen. My mechanic tried cleaning all the sensors of the ABS, but the problem is still there. Can you please help me out?

Ok. While you are doing new steering box, inspect your chassis under and around panhard rod mount. Chassis under box is more than often cracked and even if you can't see any yet, they will eventually cracked so do yourself favour and order bracing kit and weld it on. Also I want to ask you about that outside trims (that plastic strips on middle of the doors). Where did you order them from please??
Ondrej, thank your for the suggestion. In regards to the strips, they are not plastic, when I had my truck re sprayed, I had them paint the strip on as well.
I'm a bit confused... what solved the initial problem? I understand the booster replacement was not needed and caused the secondary issue of front brakes not releasing.
The start of the problem was my original brake booster failed. I thought if I am going to replace the brake booster that I might as well replace the master cylinder. Then the TUV inspection brought out the problem that my rear brakes were not functioning. Then after that all the guessing started.
Hi from Australia, I’m struggling with my FJ80R and I can’t figure it out, mechanic has had it for a month and have made no progress, it’s running odd, everything is mechanically sound, there’s a weird random spark miss, but I’ve replaced the ignition system and it still persists, the mechanic has placed an external spark system, and it made no difference. Maybe you have an idea of what could be up?
Jakobus I am assuming when you say you have replaced your ignition system you are talking about the ignition coil, checked out/replaced the distributor, new spark plug wires, and new spark plugs. Is that correct?
Nice video with interesting course of brake problem solving. Sometimes coincidence is needed to get another perspective :) I am still bafled thogh what trick did you use to pass the TUV inspection with the ARB bull bar?
Simon A320. I have been driving around this country seeing Jeep’s, Defender’s Land cruiser’s that have bull bars. One day I asked a guy were did you get your inspection done because it seems there are problems with bull bars here. He handed me a card and said call this guy and that started the process.
Wait, wait, you registered 80 series with ARB frong bumper 😮 ? How is this possible 😮😮. ARB doesn't have certified in EU and this bumper is forbidden 😢. Can you share some info about this?
It’s not a front bumper, it’s a winch carrier. 😀It all depends on who does the inspection. I can tell you I have lived in Germany, passed through Austria, Switzerland, and France and no one cared. I have literally passed hundreds of police and have had no issues. Now it might be different if I ever got into an accident.
@LandCruiserNut yep, if you have an accident, then probably will be another story. Here is more strictly when registering the car in the begging, then nobody cares.
Its pathetic that mechanics couldn't work that out. From 40yrs of personal experience buying dodgy parts its become standard practice to measure everything before fitting

I’ll definitely add that tool to my kit. Thanks.
Excellent video, glad you got it done! Cheers from Ohio
Wonderful! Great videos

Yes, drinking Sam Adam’s in Germany. If it was not for Sam I would not know how I got through this ordeal.
Great video. Glad you finally chased down that problem. Very interesting to hear how all of it progressed. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks brother you channel is also amazing
@@landcruisernut8654 Thanks man. I appreciate that!

What ended up getting the bull bar past inspection?
I found a guy that would pass it with it on. Says these laws about bull bars are ridiculous.
