Rayman Legends was one of the best games ubisoft ever made in like the past 12 years. And with the rise of 2D platformers from several years ago like hollow knight, ori, celeste, and a bunch of other extremely well known indie games. Ubisoft just ignoring rayman during that time was a serious crime. At this point, just sell rayman to nintendo or something. They have shown more respect to the IP then ubisoft has in 10 years
Less well-known 2D indie games too. Like Decline's Drops, which has some Rayman Origins inspirations in the levels. Coincedentally, it's made by a French person as well. Or high-action hack-and-slash games like Magenta Horizon, or *amazingly* 2D hand-drawn games like Cookie Cutter and the upcoming The Eternal Life of Goldman. All well worth looking into. Still, i'm hoping for more respect and new chances for Rayman too, with a team that knows how to handle it.
Nah, WayForward would be better so othe platform users could play it too. I have no desire to buy a Nintendo console. I can loan my step sister's Switch to play Metroid 5, the only game I care about on it.
Hey CGE! Did you not support Rayman Board Game on Kickstarter? Also, would’ve been worth mentioning that Ubisoft just laughed at Rayman’s 25th anniversary by doing… *drum roll*… ABSOLUTELY NOTHING-not even a social post to acknowledge it.
Don't let your feelings toward rayman cloud your judgement. Unless you were in the room with the man you can't say he's guilty or innocent. Stay grey. Personally I believe the employees over the one man but I'm not going to make a definitive statement such as "Michel Ancel is GUILTY" because this shit is serious and not to be taken lightly

Yeah I've been aware of the laughing stock that Ubisoft has become in recent years due to their tone deaf and incredibly out of touch approach to making many of the business decisions they make, Ubisoft could've made multiple Rayman games when they stopped. But didn't all because of series creator Michael Ancel left the company due to certain allegations on him, Ubisoft wasn't sure who to trust with the Limbless Wonder after he left, despite them getting someone who is passionate about the IP that was open to doing a Rayman game.
I’m concerned about how they’re going to handle Rayman in the modern age. In terms of micro transactions, I hope it doesn’t appear in most Ubisoft games except in free to play games like XDefiant. The only game I saw that has micro transactions is Immortals Fenyx Rising. While I think that the game is great especially the narrative of the game, I wish it wouldn’t have micro transactions in it. What ever it is, I hope that Ubisoft doesn’t screw up with the Rayman project.
That & immortals fenyx rising forced you to have a Ubisoft account in order to play this Single Player Game & that is something that should Never be a thing in any single player game
I grew to detest the DLC thanks to the Phantom roasting Rayman. It felt like it was in really bad taste given how Ubisoft have already been treating Rayman. It's like nothing but dis-respect to the poor guy and shows how completely tone deaf Ubisoft can be.
I love the Mario & Rabbids series, especially Sparks of hope and Rayman in the Phantom show. Sure, I didn't like Phantom roasting both Mario and Rayman (he even insulted Rabbid Mario, Rabbid Peach and Beep-o), but I loved it when the heroes kicked Phantom's behind afterwards, which was satisfying and how both Mario and Rayman built a friendship with the rabbids.
@@BlaizeTheDragonAt least both Rayman and Mario got to kick Phantom's behind along with the heroic rabbids after Phantom roasted them which was satisfying.
@@BlaizeTheDragonWell Phantom insulting people is kinda just what he does, even in the first game, so it's not that surprising that Rayman gets roasted too. Also "in bad taste" who cares Rayman is effectively pixels on a screen he won't be hurt by insults from more pixels on a screen.
Y'know, when we're talking about how the people that manage video games want to shove microtransactions in every aspect of a game, I never realized just how lucky some games got in the past couple years. Like RE4 Remake barely even has any, and the ones that made it through doesn't even break the game. Which is surprising since it's a single player game, who cares if a microtransaction makes you OP? Or Cult of the Lamb, where the DLCs just make it better. Sparking Zero, I don't even think the game came out with anything to purchase. It's just the planned DLCs in the future.
Don't forget the trend to include random female side-kicks that end up being the protags which are portrayed as incredibly smart and flawless while the og protagonist is treated like an absolute dumbass and relegated as the punchline of all jokes
As a woman I'm so sick of that in the general media. But at least in Rayman Legends and Adventures, they portray Barbara and the other female heroes equal to the male ones, which is why I like the female characters as much as the male characters whereas female characters in other games as well as other parts of the media are too perfect and boring.
@@leesydreamy i'm a woman as well. By the way, check out the Slayers anime (it has 5 seasons: slayers, slayers next, slayers try, slayers revolution and slayers revolution r). It does have a female protagonist there but she is the opposite of perfect and really entertaining. Lina Inverse, aka the female protagonist, is greedy and gets mad easily and blows up stuff but she does show remorse from time to time and does care about people. It's like a fantasy comedy DND/RPG inspired series. I definetely enjoyed it!
@ once they finish their call of duty stuff it can happen. Probably not soon maybe not even in this decade but Spyro and even crash bandicoot can come Back. Not soon but eventually
@@dynamicyouthtubeThere's another Call of Duty already in development. Once one finishes, another begins development. It's why Activision games last only a year before they move on.
That sonic generations clip is a bad example because it’s one of the few remake/remasters that actually did add new stuff to it mainly the shadow campaign which basically gives us all the zones plus sunset heights and chaos island that we’ve been wanting in generations as dlc since the original came out.
Ubisoft needs to be bought by a trustworthy respectable company to keep an eye on them and limit their greed, or at least Rayman so we can just forget about them.
I can see Nintendo for this but even if we get good games, some franchises would be changed to fit their vision (Rayman would be also impacted to please to Japanese audience).
When the backlash on Assassins Creed Shadows started every decision they made on that game since, made it worse, then they decided to reschedule the release date, so people had hope like. Ooohh they finally realize it, they finally listen. They gonna take time to improve the game, and make us happy… Ubisoft: naaaaah we don’t need to change or improve nothing, we just need to add more micro transactions Let’s add Battle Pass to a single player game. That’s a GREAT IDEA !!!! This disrespect to what AC used to be and the Japanese culture made me switch from pre ordered this game.. to I don’t think I’m even gonna buy it at this point.
@@CartoonLowStudios Maybe not right away, but it would certainly help, given how Ubisoft has neglected the franchise lately. Speaking of companies neglecting their IPs, you think Nintendo should buy the Banjo-Kazooie IP from Microsoft? Clearly that company's not doing anything good (or even constructive, for that matter) with Rare's IPs.
To put into perspective. There is a new game for Rayman coming out in 2025.......It's a board game on kickstarter that reuses the same sprites from Rayman legends
Now that I think about it I could see them doing a remake of Rayman Arena with micro transactions for custom costumes for each character etc and have it be very live service like
I thought the disrespect was pretty bad already - after seeing how a family-friendly icon was portrayed in Laserhawk I don’t see how it could get any worse, haha.
Could have been worse. Could have been Jade in that show. Boy that made me angry. Gave up the show right there and pivoted full to Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. Which is getting canned. 'sigh'
The only reason why the ones with like a transactions have seemingly good sales is because the micro transactions make up for the loss in actual product sold, so it’s not that the games themselves are selling great, it’s that the micro transactions in the ones that end up getting sold are barely squeaking them by

Sadly it seems Ubisoft prefers to forget about his platforming gaming existence, unless Michel Ancel wants to continue with the character, depends really, Michel had to deal with the toxicity in his workplace recently, which kind of effected him, Ubisoft would rather continue with Prince Of Persia than for the sake of Rayman. After all it is his 30th anniversary of Rayman.
I don't trust Ubisoft in general, if they don't mess up, they'll still have it on UPlay, and if you don't sign in every within six months you lose your account, and considering what they done so far, yeah, no and again, Sonic never left, he's like Mario, was always around EDIT: and no, Sonic Generations doesn't get a pass, if it wasn't for Shadow Generations, it would've been dismissed outright, I can guarantee you that
Yeah Ubisoft is LITERALLY shooting themselves in the foot and also blowing their F'ing legs off with this one! Rayman shouldn't be treated like this again. After he made that wonderful comeback during the 3rd DLC of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, Ubisoft is like 'OK you guys happy now, good" and just tosses Rayman to the side and starts making remakes of the same games now only in HD and just completely ignores and neglects the mascot yet again. I think the CEO from Smiling Friends says it best! "It’s my IP to sit on and do nothing with!”
When are people going to learn, Ubisoft only owns the IP now. Current modern Ubsioft did NOT make the original Rayman Games. They hired a bunch of woke DEI devs and replaced them!
Rayman Legends was the best platformer ever made, and Mario+Rabbids was the most underrated crossover out there. But Ubisoft would rather give us Starwars Outlaws, bad Assasins Creed titles, and NFT schlock than games that fans have wanted for years.
2:43 It makes me laugh to read that the standard version of AC Odyssey says that the full game is included, when in reality it's a big lie, given that the ending of the game must be purchased separately as DLC, making AC Odyssey a technically incomplete game with no real ending.
I hate this company, I want a brand new Rayman game with NO micro transactions, NO poorly made games, and I don't wanna lose it, but when Ubisoft is being Ubisoft, I'm going to crash out.
Ubisoft did do a remaster a few years ago for the ezio EC games but that had a few problems with it. There was that one NPC every memed that got patched out in later versions.
Rayman deserves very good respect like crash and spyro did... But, as for it's comeback...they should let an indie company or another one (that's not like ubisoft!) handle it.
Honestly I wasn't even that keen on Rayman Origins/Legends. The major merit I can think of is the gameplay itself is very solid but everything else? It didn't feel like... Rayman (heck i'd argue even the gameplay didn't feel much like Rayman. It was too fast paced to what Rayman platformers usually are). It does strike me as a game that was intended to be something else but slapped rayman characters in to try and get it to sell better.
They couldn't get away with a lazy remaster. No one wants Rayman 1 remastered, and it would be weird to remaster a numbered sequel without doing the first. After Legends I wouldn't want another Rayman in that style. Legend was the only non-rabbid mainline Rayman game I can't stand. Which is a shame considering how great Origins is.
There already is a fanmade Rayman 1 remastered you can play right now for free. Rayman Redemption. It's an absolutely solid fangame that remade the entire game from scratch to improve the controls, feel and include a bunch of new levels and worlds as well as include a level editor to create your own. Whatever Ubisoft could do wouldn't be anywhere near as good. Rayman 2 already has a remake on the PS2 with Rayman Revolution and that's not inculding all the different ports it got, the most recent being a shockingly rough 3DS version. Rayman 3 is the only one that could probably do with a spruce up but as you say, wouldn't make sense to be remade and Ubisoft would naturally fuck it up.
@@BlaizeTheDragon Yeah, love Rayman Redemption. It's replaced Rayman for me. The fan levels are naff looking though. I was actually thinking how we don't need another Rayman 2 port. Although, the fans are also doing that.
Ubisoft’s disrespect for their whole catalogue and the whole medium, is through the roof! They’re bleeding money and they keep insisting on incompetent DEI hires that can’t develop a game to save their lives and injecting DEI messaging in games instead of actually making good games. Ubisoft and all these woke trash companies need to go the way of the dodo already and allow actual sane people to take their place. There are rumors of political games up high, about someone ruining the company intentionally for some reason, but I can’t say if there’s any truth to it. Anyway, if I were you, I’d ignore Ubisoft and anything tied to them. They do not make good games. Whatever they do with their IPs is gonna be utter trash.
I'm hoping the remake will be Rayman 1, 2 and / or 3 (Rayman 1 doesn't need a remake, just a port / remaster is good enough) and hoping he'll get the comeback he deserve, and hope that with Sparks of Hope means he'll be treated with respect I don't mind it begin a 2D or 3D game, I just want to see my boy back but a new 3D game similar to Rayman 2 and 3 would be great, but a new 2D similar to Rayman 1 or Origins and Legends would also be great, in fact they should do both cause it means more Rayman and hopefully not another 10+ year wait for the next entry
I wish Rayman was in any other hands Literally ANYONE else than Ubisoft Prince of Persia Lost Crown is the first quality game they’ve made in years and they’ve disbanded the team that made it and cancelled its planned sequel I have zero faith in them
@@Sonicman4155 Alot of big companies have this sell well or else mindset. It doesn't matter if the game is good, if it doesn't meet our sales expectations both the franchise and the staff will suffer. The good news is that indie companies are more forgiving.
Ubisoft (as a company) has already met a new low for the types of games they put out. While it’s true that their M-rated titles perform better than the family-friendly ones (e.g. the Rabbids and Rayman), I can’t seem to picture an in-house Rayman remake anytime soon. It would feel right to hand over the Rayman IP to someone else, or let a third-party studio do the hard work in general.
The only “IPs” are Brawlhalla, Rabbids, UNO and ofc assassins Creed and Rayman but even then three or two out of those IP recognisable out of the bunch and the other two IPs are also recognisable, but nobody cares about and the rest are a bunch of soulless live action games and gun games
Ubisoft Montreal used to be the smaller company behind Ubisoft’s French division, nowadays Ubisoft Montreal have become the bigger company & honestly that probably was a gigantic mistake because of the examples we’re seeing recently
Rayman does deserve respect and love that he always want, since September 1995 when it originated on the PS1, Atari Jaguar, Sega Saturn, PC, and MS-DOS
At this point. We need ubisoft to lose the rights to rayman and he goes to a game studio who actually cares more. And how could i forget:Hi fi rush devs being fired for no reason.
Ubisoft also do the bullshit always online crap for single player games. Deeming them unplayable if your internett is down. And they delist all their older games
Perfect example is beyond good evil 2 that now is becoming a prequel that got pushed back and then the just did a quick remastered of the original just to keep fans happy. I want my jade and pag.
So far I read that Ubisoft amilan is in charge with the remake, which were the people that did the Mario & Rabbid games, but then again it is still Ubisoft so lets see.
No, its not just the "suit and ties". HR specifically contracts people who has less skill than ever and follow a specific politic compass. I am tired of people just blaming the higher ups when the devs have a ton of fault. I have no empathy for them
I get that ubisoft can be really inconsistant with their quality or they can be really tone deaf, but the team working on rayman almost always delivers great games. Ubisoft montpellier was the team behind all the rayman games and the great new prince of persia game. If ubisoft montpellier will develop it, i wont worry about the quality.

Just sell rayman to a company who CARES about him and would put in the work like crash & spyro or other mascots!
I’m just pissed off about Ubisoft not releasing new rayman games anymore and now they disrespect it? Heck Ubisoft man
Rayman Legends was one of the best games ubisoft ever made in like the past 12 years.
I can loan my step sister's Switch to play Metroid 5, the only game I care about on it.
boo
rs the best thing they can do for rayman is to selling him to a different company like sony or nintendo
0:37 But, that’s Shadow. Not Son-actually, fair enough.
Hey CGE! Did you not support Rayman Board Game on Kickstarter? Also, would’ve been worth mentioning that Ubisoft just laughed at Rayman’s 25th anniversary by doing… *drum roll*… ABSOLUTELY NOTHING-not even a social post to acknowledge it.
There's still people in Ubisoft that love Rayman. Also Michel (not Michael) Ancel is INNOCENT
@@batbugz You say 1 thing (which is "I rather believe many people - without proof - instead of 1") & then you say the opposite. Why is that? If you don't know for sure, just like me, don't comment like you know.
I don’t know if he’s innocent, but they did have someone else to carry on the legacy, his name is Davide Soliani.
I believe Boni Giacomo left to work on a rayman inspired game in an indie studio.
Yes, I believe he is innocent. If he wasn't, then why did he said that he was ready to face the ones telling rumour about him in the court? Sure, he may not be a good director but not abusive like they said.
@@gonhunter3994okay so the statement was "PERSONALLY I believe the employees over the one man BUT I'm not going to make a definitive statement" meaning I believe them myself but I'm not going to put any more stock in them being right than them. You need better reading comprehension skills or at the very least to learn to read a persons entire statement before wilding out.
Rayman would be a bumbling idiot while a girlboss of Colour is a bitchy heroine and calls herself "they/them."
Godbless you adding Croc to that drawing in the beginning. When are we gonna get a remake!?
I hate that I'm one of the three diehard Mario+Rabbids Sparks of Hope fans, that game needed so much more love, especially with the Rayman DLC.
@@BlaizeTheDragon Hey, at least Rayman represents the state of their company...
I don't think Barbara's flawless
I wish ubislop would sell off Rayman.
Even a bad magician can pull a rabbit out of their hat sometimes.
Let's hope they don't pull a rabbid this time..

They gonna take time to improve the game, and make us happy…
Ubisoft: naaaaah we don’t need to change or improve nothing, we just need to add more micro transactions
Let’s add Battle Pass to a single player game. That’s a GREAT IDEA !!!!
This disrespect to what AC used to be and the Japanese culture made me switch from pre ordered this game.. to I don’t think I’m even gonna buy it at this point.
I hope Betilla, Barbara, and Ly will be playable

Funny to think that after the whole Star Wars/ Assassin's Creed Shadows debacle, Ubisoft went crawling back to Rayman and the creator lol
I am a bit worry for rayman
Worried*

a bit?
First off, great editing! Second, I don't trust Ubisoft to make good quality games unless under new management. Third, enjoy your vacation!
Maybe Nintendo should buy the Rayman IP from Ubisoft, because they clearly don't know WTF they're doing with it anymore.
Even if Nintendo purchases it, Rayman is not as popular as Mario. It might not fix the problem in the long run
We know this be a last ditch attempt to keep them alive giving how that Assassins Creed clogged there time schedules
I'd love to see Ubisoft make another Rayman game with no need for Uplay, like "Rayman Legends". Also.... BOOO! NFTs!!!
Now that I think about it I could see them doing a remake of Rayman Arena with micro transactions for custom costumes for each character etc and have it be very live service like
Sounds atrocious. No more live service BS or micro trans.
Ubisoft need to make a new Rayman game! They better make Rayman 4!
*Looks at the "Fantastic Job" that Flynn did with Generations' remade dialogue*
... Riiiiiight...
I thought the disrespect was pretty bad already - after seeing how a family-friendly icon was portrayed in Laserhawk I don’t see how it could get any worse, haha.
I was just thinking that.😊
Could have been worse. Could have been Jade in that show. Boy that made me angry. Gave up the show right there and pivoted full to Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. Which is getting canned. 'sigh'
"family friendly" yeah... Huh??? Okay, sure

In all fairness, the Raving Rabbids GBA was a 2D adventure game. It's not a party game.
The only reason why the ones with like a transactions have seemingly good sales is because the micro transactions make up for the loss in actual product sold, so it’s not that the games themselves are selling great, it’s that the micro transactions in the ones that end up getting sold are barely squeaking them by

10:21 😬 Plus, the censorships, and turning that woman into Mr. How-Do-You-Do-Fellow-Kids, didn't help Diablo 2 remake either.
If Ubisoft were smart, they would do what Activision did with crash and spyro and make a remake the classic trilogy.
It sucks how last year, it seemed like Rayman was finally coming back to the spotlight, but for this year, there hasn’t been any Rayman related thing that’s come out of this year.
Why is 2024 the worst year.
Bro, does any Assassin's Creed game needs a remake? At all?

I’d prefer if the fans actually made some fucking fan games for once!
Maybe one that distorts the stories for an even bigger narrative, like a Templar's retelling that paint the Assassins in a negative light.
@ Sounds interesting, I would love to see 2 games like in Pokémon, 1 is a response to the other; an Assassin’s game about the templars & a Templar’s game about the assassins.
Looking at the current state of Ubisoft, I'm starting to wonder if we can really expect a remake or sequel...
I don't trust Ubisoft in general, if they don't mess up, they'll still have it on UPlay, and if you don't sign in every within six months you lose your account, and considering what they done so far, yeah, no
and again, Sonic never left, he's like Mario, was always around
EDIT: and no, Sonic Generations doesn't get a pass, if it wasn't for Shadow Generations, it would've been dismissed outright, I can guarantee you that
Yeah Ubisoft is LITERALLY shooting themselves in the foot and also blowing their F'ing legs off with this one!
I stopped caring the momment the brain rot rabbits came into the picture over 15 years ago.

When are people going to learn, Ubisoft only owns the IP now. Current modern Ubsioft did NOT make the original Rayman Games. They hired a bunch of woke DEI devs and replaced them!
I heard ubisoft is remaking a game
Rayman Legends was the best platformer ever made, and Mario+Rabbids was the most underrated crossover out there.
But Ubisoft would rather give us Starwars Outlaws, bad Assasins Creed titles, and NFT schlock than games that fans have wanted for years.
honestly, considering the situation at ubisoft in general, i think it would be better if it were never touched by them again
Off topic but I love your outfit
Great video, fully agree with your concerns.
Great video man. Miss ol' Rayman
I'm hoping the remake will be Rayman 1, 2 and / or 3 (Rayman 1 doesn't need a remake, just a port / remaster is good enough)
and hoping he'll get the comeback he deserve, and hope that with Sparks of Hope means he'll be treated with respect
I don't mind it begin a 2D or 3D game, I just want to see my boy back
but a new 3D game similar to Rayman 2 and 3 would be great, but a new 2D similar to Rayman 1 or Origins and Legends would also be great, in fact they should do both
cause it means more Rayman and hopefully not another 10+ year wait for the next entry
Rayman was the reason why Ubisoft was on the map. To turn their back on their own creation is a slap in the face

Rayman does deserve respect and love that he always want, since September 1995 when it originated on the PS1, Atari Jaguar, Sega Saturn, PC, and MS-DOS
At this point. We need ubisoft to lose the rights to rayman and he goes to a game studio who actually cares more.
