do you think it's fake? I thought the combination of new gearbox and the newer engines would perform as such. I had bmw for the past 9 years, since they intro the new gearbox with the double clutch i found it so quick it is worthless change yourself
Nice car and good performance, I remember when the 520s where really slow, till the e60. This car perform like a 525i e39 but with bigger wheels and tires and more more weight and also with less fuel consumption. Great Job AutoTop and BMW. Nice video.
People calling it slow are delusional. Its a luxury sedan, not a sport car. 95% of viewers here barely exceed 130, maybe 140 km/u on their daily drive. Traffic light sprints are also rare on daily base.
so true.... especialy in my city, horeible traffict and poor road condition. i guess the only time yu can drive fast here is on midnight / holiday when trafict is light enouhh and in some highway section where the road is not too poor 😂 speeding over 100 mph here is just impossible for daily drive 😅
Struggles so hard after 210 km/h despite having a turbo engine. An old E34 525i with the same power but much less torque (65 nm less) can achieve the same top speed and accelerate a little faster from 210 - 225 km/h.
From Lambo to basic BMW...one could easily fall asleep behind the wheel ;) But..I remember acceleration of Pug 106 XN with 45 HP...I hope one day guys you will get a hold of turbo and supercharged Kimera...take a ride in that beast...yeah :)

@@till8014 you really dont need xdrive in a 530i. I drove the g30 530i for 4 years, never missed xdrive(its almost no difference). Even with my 240i g42 i dont feel the need of a xdrive.
Hi guys, just wondering if anybody here in the comments owns this car? I live in Ireland and inexplicably, BMW have ditched the 520D model, despite it making up the most sales in the Irish market. So, the option is either 520i or phev or ev. I don't want hybrid or ev, so my question is, how do you find it for every day use, and is overtaking on standard country roads an issue? It'll just be me and maybe 1 passenger in the car for most of the journeys. Thank you.

It is definitely too heavy for that engine configuration. Actually the B48 is easily tuned to 300hp. However this high compression version shouldn't be tuned so high. Reliability issues in the long term
@Sierra-Yankee I have a Civic 1.5T. It's a 14 second car in the 1/4 the Type R is like a second and change faster. My Civic stock is literally faster than this.
The sudden drop in gas tank distance. One Kilometer nearly every second yet it never reached 250 km/h. 😂 I love your videos ... but this 5-series is just horror.
@@Errost5 Yes thats my point, a e39 with a m50 would deffs do the same speeds. A friggen commy v6 will do 240. Yes a e34 would be slower to get there, but will do better than 225.
To slow for such a new 5-Series, in todays world anything under 220-240hp (for gas engine) is to little, 190 might have been okay if it had been a diesel. My old E46 2.2 straight 6 is "just" as fast/slow.

B48 is a good engine, you get pretty much a 100 bhp from a simple tune
Yes but the pistons aren't a fan of this on the B48, this has the high compression pistons, not good for big boost

That’s a lot of weight for that little 2 litre to lug around. You can see it struggle to pick up speed.

I highly doubt it's DCT. In fact are there any BMW's left with DCT? Even the M cars are 8 speed ZF nowadays.
