Brings back distant memories. I enlisted in May 1961 and was discharged May 1967. These movements will come quickly and I can assure you, Your Co. and those representing the Co. won't let you forget.
Question: I was in boot camp in San Diego in 1983. (Company 1-4-5, Sr. Chief Petty Officer Gorsky). There is a command for turning in ranks from Attention a quarter-turn (in preparation for push-ups as a company). What are those commands? Oblique, as I recall, was just for a quarter-turn while marching. It's been a LONG time. Please help me out. Thanks!
Sorry to bother, I have a question, what kind of command do you say if the recruits are getting into a classroom or just a room and they must take off their caps??, and if there is no command what do you recommend? Thanks
@@fernandovaldes6599 Well, I was a teacher myself for a long time, in the U. S. and in Canada, where I live now. These days I'm a tutor. Anyway, good to say "hi" to you!
You are expected to uncover the second you cross the threshold to enter a building. But in the rare instances you are told to uncover, you wait for the preparatory command "UNCOVER" you grab your bill with the right hand, back of the cover with the left and wait for the execution command "TO" then you remove the cover, and carry it in your right hand until told otherwise.
I was USN (77-81) and these simple instructions will point out the fakes. All Services have the same protocol. The SALUTE is the most important, don't give me a proper salute, I will point out to everyone your are a fake.

When you do "Uncover" you do not want to move your head as you remove the cover. It has to be sharp and tight.
Very helpful, thank you.

When we are at attention, do we have to look straight the entire time or can we look to the side?
Look straight entire time
Look straight and don't look your RDCs in the eye. Look to the wall straight ahead of you.
