I am the Division Officer in the video. I would like to address some of the comments I have seen so far. The military as a whole has had difficulties hitting their recruiting numbers. That's the side effect of a volunteer military and has nothing to do with the caliber of individual joining. Not everyone wants to volunteer, but we appreciate those that do and are willing raise their hand and swear to defend our constitution. Same goes for RDCs. It is a difficult job with long hours. We hold C school students to a standard but ultimately, I would rather have someone competent that can train and mentor these recruits, instead of a meathead because they're good at PT. Also, if you think that how fast you can run is anywhere near as important as discipline and competency when it comes to operating in our technologically advanced war-space, then you are stuck in the past. Our foreign adversaries would not have any sort of upper hand just because they can do more push-ups. It doesn't matter which boot camp is "harder", as long as they get the results necessary to train the next generation to operate effectively in future conflicts.
This sounds like cope, the USA gave up on having healthy fit men in the armed forces. The average american citizen weighs 100kg. This looks like an absolute disaster and it does not bode well.
@aleale6277 You're focusing too much on appearances and acting as though we're only recruiting obese men and women. While the military reflects the American population in some regards, those that need to be in peak physical condition for their jobs still are. So I struggle to see how this is indicative of the US losing an armed conflict due to current physical conditioning.
Sir, I think you make a good point about physical fitness. Most people who think the standards are falling dramatically seem to be judging purely off how people look; one thing I learned in boot camp is that how somebody looks doesn't always correlate to their physical ability as much as you'd think it would. Based on my (admittedly much more limited) experience, it seems like something which matters more is how far an individual is willing to push themselves, which stems from a good attitude and a willingness to tolerate pain and discomfort. In that sense, even if physical fitness is not as important as the ability to develop technical expertise, it still might be useful for figuring out who the "high performers" are going to be because I'd wager that there's going to be a lot of overlap between the people who are determined to push themselves physically and the people who are determined to excel in rate-specific expertise.
HT1 Mangan and ETC Sperling were my RDCs for boot camp and I must say they are incredible women. I just recently graduated from boot camp and I wish them the best with their efforts. Truly remarkable sailors!!!
The saying goes, “get paid to get trained” get those boys and girls FIT. Now if we can work on diets. Particularly adding healthier base-wide food options. Military needs more options for whole foods rather than fast foods and the curtailing of alcohol and tobacco distribution and use.
"Yellow" flake fried fish ALL DAY EVERYDAY! That was my experience years ago. They need to pump out "Green" meals a hell of a lot more. Breakfast needs to be stepped up for recruits too.
Petty officer 1st class lucius was my rdc, great rdc learned a lot of from him about not only being a good sailor but a good person and having integrity and accountability. Thank you petty officer and hooyah 161
“Petty Officer Santiago” I would’ve got beat if I said that 😂 we can’t say names in bootcamp, it’s 1st, 2nd, or 3rd rdc if you’re talking about them. Atleast that’s how my rdcs told us.
I would venture to say that it’s not the Navy, it’s the person. Sailors are held to the “big boy/girl” standard at most commands, meaning it falls on you to stay in shape on your own personal time.
i graduated september 5th. EMC Allison was my first RDC of my division for the first half of boot camp but i learned a lot from him whether it was direct or indirect towards me. when we left to go to another ship my whole division would see him and he was always so serious but in a funny way thanks to our second RDC BM1 Mayle. them and GMC (select) Reckmann gave me the inspiration during those 10 weeks to come back to RTC eventually in the future and go through this training to help shape the future fleet like they did with us.
Our adversaries have got to be paralyzed with fear seeing this.. Our irons, spray bottles, and the AC thermostat is maintained and set meticulously.. What country would send their highly trained soldiers in against a military that makes sure all the products in the pantry are "faced" correctly. Thank you walmart for all the training..
Yooooooo. That red rope Chief Woodbury beard super out of regs. That chin dingle shit is way past 1/4". And of all places, RTC should be the place where this waiver should be closely monitored.
@@XxIconicCrewxX Crazy how the Standards have change since I was in, they told us if we were chemically attacked that a beard would not make a seal properly while dawning our masks. Even if you were given a No-Shave-Chits you still had to keep it groomed to a certain length.
San Diego!!! It's too bad modern recruits won't get the NTC San Diego experience. Being in formation and unable to laugh at the guy at you that just got shyt bombed by a grinder bird is unforgettable 😅
I served in the Marines with a 99 ASVAB, so I never experienced another service referring to me as stupid. But damn, the Navy is fat. I couldn’t believe how big some of those woman training to be RDC’s are. They’re obese. I never saw an obese marine, no less an obese DI. It’s crazy and pathetic.
The only reason the Navy has any type of PT requirement is because they want the hour-long air bottle of an SCBA to actually last at least 50 minutes. There is literally nowhere to run or march in the Navy and the most strenuous activity a sailor will ever endure, outside of the Seabees and some corpsmen, is damage control.
my ship was 500 ft long by 30 ft wide with a few dumbbells and a rowing machine strapped underneath a ladder well lol, mix that with 12 hours a day of required sitting in a chair, staring at a green screen, the whole fitness thing is easy to lose track of after 9 months of that lol
Not that it's taken seriously, but that it's more of a requirement with the fact ANY marine can have a rifle slapped into their hands and told to to kill the enemy. Imagine being a Water purification specialist and having to worry about the towel head hitting you with an RPG he grew from the dirt. Different jobs require different training and skills. Not every sailor is gonna go toe to toe with the enemy. So the lower effort PT only makes sense in BASIC TRAINING!!!
BRO EM1 LUCIUS WAS MY RDC IN BOOT!!! we were his first division, 006. i"m sure now he's working with another division. If you ever get the chance for him to be your RDC, his IT sessions are actually crazy, but he's good at what he does. He made it seem like he's been an RDC for a minute.
Those workouts really push you. You don't think it's that difficult or long till you're waiting on everyone else while you're suffering ha ha I am actually glad there are more people who are opting out of serving because civilians are getting better information for what it is you're signing up and volunteering for.

I went to boot in January 1976. Boot was 100% pure USDA prime hazing...and that's what it was meant to be. More than once our CC came in the compartment at 0200 or 0300 drunk and cycled (extreme exercises) us or told us the most lewd stories you can imagine. Years later I made senior chief while stationed there and of course things were much better...but this is WAY more professional than anything I ever imagined it would ever be. Carry On.
I have been through Marine bootcamp and Army basic. Looks like Navy got some pretty good training!!! Went on ship twice while in the Marines! I liked it! It was pretty cool. Spent about 3 weeks each time!
What’s funny is the same people on here talking nonsense are the same people who don’t even serve, people living in the past, or other service members in different branches. You talk about winning wars or how other countries are “this and that” yet, we can’t even come together and uplift each other. Instead, you want to down play your other fellow branches and say standards are not set in place. Most of you have become so jaded from what a standard is, based on these Hollywood movie images of what the military needs to be like in order to win. If you all were Olympic athletes you probably wouldn’t be in the service, that’s not what is needed to win. It’s being tactful, it’s having a warrior and “war ready” mindset, constantly improving and repetition. Each branch has a different, yet, vital role they play in order to protect this country. The same branches you spit on are the same young men and women who decided to make that sacrifice to serve and protect the freedom and countless liberties that you enjoy and take for granted. We’re quick to talk down on someone instead of bringing that person up with us. Everyone can continue to say what they want about what apparently is “more difficult” or “the standard” while the rest of us will continue to protect that right for you and work day and night standing the watch because we believe in selfless duty and service for others.
So the answer is to make excuses and empower mediocrity? Got it. Where real growth takes place is when you acknowledge deficiencies and fix them. The Navy has a lot of fixing to do to get back to where it once was.

Ok I'll say it. A good chunk of these people are overweight. Isn't there a screening process before they get selected as instructors? Twenty minutes to run 1.5 miles?!?! Are you kidding me? You can walk and still make that time.
The actual run time for real physical assessments is much lower. An 18 year old male has to do it in 11 minutes or less, and an 18 year old female has to do it in 13:30 or less. Each age group afterwards gets roughly another extra minute. When they were training us to prepare for the physical assessments however, they did have us run for 20 minutes, then afterwards told us our scores. But I agree that people tend to really let themselves go after bootcamp.

OS1 Santiago! What a great RDC, he taught me a lot while going through boot camp.
Same here
Fr bruh he was my 1st rec he’s dope
@@codymassad4730 yeah he made you cripwalk around the compartment
HT1 Mangan and ETC Sperling were my RDCs for boot camp and I must say they are incredible women. I just recently graduated from boot camp and I wish them the best with their efforts. Truly remarkable sailors!!!
Seeing coast guard Company commander school would be awesome!!
"The Marine Corps is the only branch that met its recruiting mission... and the Space Force." Lol.
"yellow" lol@@tyvernoverlord5363
Such great RDCs! 🙌
ya, tuff shit they dont got no one to train huh
Why cant I login into BOL?
Hahahaha
Petty officer 1st class lucius was my rdc, great rdc learned a lot of from him about not only being a good sailor but a good person and having integrity and accountability. Thank you petty officer and hooyah 161
So Glad I can never be pulled into a MTI role in the Air Force. Love to see other Branches doing their work.
“Petty Officer Santiago” I would’ve got beat if I said that 😂 we can’t say names in bootcamp, it’s 1st, 2nd, or 3rd rdc if you’re talking about them. Atleast that’s how my rdcs told us.
He is a great RDC!
I think its different just because this is training instructors, they arent no names here.
I got to meet Captain Froberg when I went through, very nice guy, did not meet him due to disciplinary action but as honor grad recruit
I went through navy boot camp almost 50 years ago In Orlando, FL. They closed that base long ago. Shalom
It's time for a prostate exam
@@briguy459Bend over anytime that you want one, but wait until you're at your doctors office this time. Shalom
The navy feeds you good!
so does the air force
No
I would venture to say that it’s not the Navy, it’s the person. Sailors are held to the “big boy/girl” standard at most commands, meaning it falls on you to stay in shape on your own personal time.
No it doesn’t lol
i graduated september 5th.
It’s a religious accommodation if you are Norse your beard can be as long as you want it to be
@@XxIconicCrewxX Crazy how the Standards have change since I was in, they told us if we were chemically attacked that a beard would not make a seal properly while dawning our masks. Even if you were given a No-Shave-Chits you still had to keep it groomed to a certain length.
Relax he’s the exception.
San Diego!!! It's too bad modern recruits won't get the NTC San Diego experience.
Being in formation and unable to laugh at the guy at you that just got shyt bombed by a grinder bird is unforgettable 😅
DC2 Cherubin was my 3rd RDC when I graduated, she was an amazing mentor and motivator!
My good friend was in this!!! Allison!!!!! So proud and thankful for you all ❤❤❤❤
The day the Navy was tougher in boot camp is a day I never thought would ever happen.
the 2nd half of this video is my division !! and brother div 367/368
I WAS IN 368
I was in 368
i was surprised to see FC1 Sublette in this video. He was my 2nd RDC. He was definitely my favorite too, hell of a guy
You know how other branches look at Marines like we’re stupid? We look at other branches like they’re weak.
I served in the Marines with a 99 ASVAB, so I never experienced another service referring to me as stupid. But damn, the Navy is fat. I couldn’t believe how big some of those woman training to be RDC’s are. They’re obese. I never saw an obese marine, no less an obese DI. It’s crazy and pathetic.
me when I see Business Insider uploads a new video 💁♀️
I see familiar faces in here! MA1, ICC, HT1, good to see em getting some!
Crazy to see one of the RDCs of a division that was in my ship during my boot camp in her training phase!
I just graduated Feb 22nd. S/o to RS1 (RDC) Alexander !
he was my bro div's rdc "good evening brother divvvv" 💀
Aye corey alexander!!!!!!! Proudly served wit you in the fleet good sir !!!!
The more videos I watch of other services, the more convinced I am the Marine corps is the only branch that takes PT seriously.
Do you serve?
They take it so seriously, that they choose their leaders by who can do the most pullups.
My boy is a sailor very proud of him 💙
I pray I pass boot camp! I’m excited!
❤Thank You For Your Service❤
Are you freaking kidding me! This is the new military!!!
Those workouts really push you. You don't think it's that difficult or long till you're waiting on everyone else while you're suffering ha ha I am actually glad there are more people who are opting out of serving because civilians are getting better information for what it is you're signing up and volunteering for.
This makes me glad I joined the USAF.
Navy bootcamp is nothing compared to Marines or even the Army boot camp lol
@@ian7133yeah Navy boot was pretty easy, it's definitely less physical focused but more technical since it's a more technical branch
@@ian7133stop acting like your boot camp is hard it’s literally the easiest camp there you sit in class all day and get your phones on Sundays. Marines have an easy basic as well, it’s not making you tough stop acting hard.

My RDC DC2 Salcedo was in this, I have forgotten how to spell her name, one mean and pretty good rdc. My RDC’s we’re pretty good at the end giving a lot of good advice. I wish my division did better but glad to have had the proper leadership.
Time code? I think i know who youre talking about
To survive this school all you need is a heart beat
Air chairs!! Get there!!
Thank God my wish came true I’m glad everyone sees that cursing and yelling for someone to do something is better than unesessary and shouldn’t be using toxic words to build someone, their are many ways to be disciplined without being cursed out
PO Alexander is the best 😎🤝🏻my favorite RDC. Graduated with him 2 weeks ago. With respect🫡🇺🇸forever in my heart.
Once a RDC pulls out the red card you know your done for 😂😂😂😂😂
Great job guys! this should be part of the first two weeks of training in boot camp. we can actually relate @Military Hub 💪
0:26 I recognize that voice and yelling anywhere. BM2 Brown, was my 3rd RDC when I went through RTC in ‘22. He’s definitely a great fit as a C-School Instructor.
Also, EMC Suttie in the background. Was my 2nd RDC before he put on Chief.
Chief Wilson was my chief rdc!!! Great leader, and even better Man, couldn’t have asked for a better chief! And if he ever sees this..”let the bodies hit the floor”
One of those RDC’s was my baby divisions RDC and he beat/IT us for 40 mins 😂
I went to boot in January 1976. Boot was 100% pure USDA prime hazing...and that's what it was meant to be. More than once our CC came in the compartment at 0200 or 0300 drunk and cycled (extreme exercises) us or told us the most lewd stories you can imagine. Years later I made senior chief while stationed there and of course things were much better...but this is WAY more professional than anything I ever imagined it would ever be. Carry On.
RS1 Alexander was the greatest RDC
I have been through Marine bootcamp and Army basic. Looks like Navy got some pretty good training!!! Went on ship twice while in the Marines! I liked it! It was pretty cool. Spent about 3 weeks each time!
THIS is what’s standing between US, and Our ENEMIES??! We’re DOOMED‼️🫥
Oh shoot, I didnt expect to see 'the reaper' in this video. He was one of my favorite and respected RDC'S when I went to boot. I'm going back soon
WHERE IS HE?
@@ETZFuzZBall 3:16 he is the first instructor to walk in the door after slapping a page on something

I was in Division 083 and in the USS Arizona in Camp John Paul Jones, I know those C School instructors too, we had a shark attack in the beginning they came in and ITed us, along with our third RDC.

shout out to the greatest DC men in the Fleet. Taught me to never become a dirtbag
