I am a middle school special education teacher (year 8). There is not enough money to make me an AP - That is truly a tough job! I am here for kids and the highest and best use of my abilities is special Ed. I am SPED till I’m dead! I feel like I make a difference there and love my job. My administrators are great people and my principal always asks “what’s best for kids?” I see their long hours, connecting with students, and dealing with student behaviors - and I don’t think that’s me! No - I don’t deserve to be an AP. It takes a special person to do that and I feel most unqualified. Sure, SPED has its challenges, but at least my long hours are at home. I love working small groups and seeing that light bulb turn on when they get it. God bless you all, but I’m happy where I’m at!
This is an excellent video. I fully agree with the content.
