She likely cared enough about her husband and was likely busy pursuing her career too; that's why she allowed all these boundary breaches from her mother in law.
The story is making me so mad because she should have broken up or at least gotten rid of them a long time ago she has every advantage in the situation and is deciding not to use any of them
It depends on what the laws are where she lives. Generally the laws on the squatters side. Home owners have very little in their favor for getting unwanted people out of their homes. Selling is definitely easier than evicting them.
Nope not selling call lawyers get eviction notice file for divorce have Sheriff's department deliver eviction notice as I'm afraid for my life over this unhinged woman sue her for mental health issues
Yes, I agree with everything you said. Hubby would have gotten divorce papers along with serving both with eviction papers, if it were up to me. She put up with tooooo much and should have taken care of everything so much sooner. The nerve of MIL to dispose of personal belongs, redecorate, etc. ... and lock her out of her own bedroom? Where was the husband when MIL did that? He was evil also, that he would allow that and to be siphoning off their savings to support MIL behind OP's back. Naw! He definitely had to go also! GOD'S justice prevailed. Their self-induced "misfortune" is their own fault.
The story is written as if she got her "aha" moment but the house was legally hers. Just get rid of the two people there are steps to do that? No she'd rather sell a completely paid off home and rent somewhere else
Jason is a poor excuse of a husband. Once you commit to a relationship, that’s where your priorities are. He should have sided with his WIFE, not his mother. Also when she was having the walk through and he told her she’d betrayed him… He has no right to say that when he is the king of betrayal. My blood was boiling during this whole video.
This story is so stupid. She gave Diana too many opportunities. The second she be telling people I am a guest in my own house, is the second she would be moving out. 9:10
If the house truly meant that much to OP she would’ve just evicted them and changed every lock possible. She would’ve been out on the streets the first time she painted the cabinets. Horrible women that belongs to the streets for forever and ever xx
My heart literally sank when she said that she sold the house with so much emotional attachment😢.. she could simply get the eviction notice through court and throw both of them out of her home..
A bit of dating advice to my other fellow ladies: NEVER, date a mama’s boy, because they don’t know how to be Independent. They don’t see you as your partner, they see you as a temporary replacement for their mother. 🙄
She could have kicked them out via lawyer and claim that it was her house and she had every right to live in it. It pissed me off she sold the house. I’d fight for the house period
Just looking at the title and first 15 sek ,did she just said house was very important for op because of memories so she sold it instead kicking troublmaker out?
I'm sorry, but once she REPAINTED MY house, NOT HER house, MY HOUSE she would be out, gone, and if Jason didn't get it, he's getting handed a divorce paper
There is a thing called "eviction". Why in god's name would you sell the house your grandmother left you? Why would you not take action when she was discarding your possessions? So many whys! So maddening!
Bruh, the moment those “talks” and “take over” began, Immediately searching for my own place and moving my stuff out slowly. And also sell the house under their nose. Once my stuff was out and the sale was complete with no way to contest it, leave the ring on the table and have my (pathetic excuse of a) husband served at work for public humiliation. And serve my (oh so sweet) monster in law served same day eviction papers. Then ghost everyone
Give him an ultimatum either keep your mom in check and make her respect boundaries or get divorce and serve eviction notices for both of you, then get security cameras installed to protect yourself
Paragraph Person here, pm paraphrasing the story. OP allowed MIL to stay on three conditions, 6months limit, no redecorating, no changing house rules. MIL violates all three, and hosts gatherings. MIL tells family and friends that house belongs to Jeff, her son and OP's husband, that OP is a guest. People believe her. MIL removes furniture, brings in other for her own taste. OP sets up cameras, sees MIL opening OP's mail. OP finds bank statements in office shared with husband, sees he's been giving large sums to MIL since she mived in. MIL changes locks on OP's bedroom, keeps key to herself (no word on where Jeff sleeps), OP changes them back, a few months (!!!) later and MIL does it again, forcing OP to sleep in a guest room. At one point, when OP tells MIL off, MIL tells OP "if you don't like it, you can leave." Tries to pressure OP into putting Jeff on the house title, tries to get family to pressure OP too, even brings in real estate agent. Jeff never stands up to his mother, and sits while arguing goes on. When asked, he says he's "conflicted." OP (FINALLY!!!!) sees a lawyer, who says MIL can be evicted, but selling the OP's house would be a cleaner break. OP gets a real estate agent and starts secretly packing, puts stuff into storage unit, finds one room apartment. House is sold, cash offer. New buyers show up for final walkthrough, when MIL and Jeff finally learn what OP has done. They are upset about becoming homeless and expect OP to take them in. Jeff finally gets divorce papers. MIL ends up in shelter, while Jeff couch surfs at a friend's. They continue to hound OP, with MIL blaming OP for ruining her life, and Jeff wanting to get back together again, with the possibility of bringing MIL with him. Family and friends side with OP. OP moves to another city, points out to Jeff that the divorce is final, shreds MIL's demeaning multiple page letter, lives happily ever after.
Your husband is a very sick person. I would never reconcile with him. The wife always comes before the mother. He had no right on everything he done... your mother-in-law I would've took her straight to court and sued her every slanderous thing she did to me. I wouldn't have never sold my grandmother's house. ""NEVER"" but if that brings you peace then God bless your heart
The day she repainted my cupboards without asking would be the day before she moved out!
Absolutely.. I'd have told her to GTFO now...
What in the door mat is happening. She broke every single ground rule and op still didnt say anything til much later 😭
some people aren't confrontational!

Literally, like why rent when you could've just evicted them! It's crazy

Jason should have never married outside of his family (he should have married his mother and moved to Alabama if their American) 😅😅😂😂

JUST TELL HER TO GET OUT OF YOUR HOUSE ITS THAT EASY
She knows and it’s not that easy
Just file for divorce, file eviction papers on them and as house yours was premarital assets
If the house truly meant that much to OP she would’ve just evicted them and changed every lock possible.

What took you so long before you kicked them both out
MIL AND hubby BOTH have to go!!!!!!
Selling the house was dumb. You should have divorced him and evicted her. That would have been a lot easier. You are dumb for this.
There is a thing called "eviction". Why in god's name would you sell the house your grandmother left you? Why would you not take action when she was discarding your possessions? So many whys! So maddening!
WHY ARE YOU SELLING THE HOUSE JUST EVICT THEM

I give it an 8 on the fake-o-meter
What was the lawyers reason for selling the house? Get an eviction notice. Kick both out.
She would have been kicked out as soon as she started with her nonsense. And if Jason was upset, he would have been gone as well.
Yup…It’s called DIVORCE ‼️
Give him an ultimatum either keep your mom in check and make her respect boundaries or get divorce and serve eviction notices for both of you, then get security cameras installed to protect yourself
This OP is so spineless & it’s so frustrating.
Why sell the house when you can act like you sold the house and move back after they leave?
She said final straw many times and she still let the mom and son walk all over her
I wasn't selling my house! They planned to steal the house!
This made me a little mad I would not put up with it for that long and would have sold the house to family.
For me the day she starts telling ppl its her house shes out of my house

The house was hers as inheritance but once she sold it the money becomes marriage assets. He gets half.
Nope if the asset you inheret and never comingle it with shared assets it can stay yours and yours only.
