At first I thought there's no way you can know what she needs unless she's a part of the process but I stand corrected. I felt like you read my mind and crated no only her dream office but mine. It was thoughtfully designed and the most important part was you allowed space for her to be messy and creative. But in an organized mess kind of way. Beautiful and practical. I have two tips. Wool mat does not dissipate heat from the laptop, it is easy to overheat the equipment. Magnetic organizers are not suitable for holding memory sticks in them. Magnets can ruin the drive.

Fantastic work! Glad you were able to do this for your wife. It's important being about to not just work comfortably, but also have a space like this to enjoy. You've also got really good, skilled friends to help you out with all this. I'm not a fan of the peg boards that have been popular in office spaces/desk set ups, but I really like the way you put yourself together and making the space appear so much cleaner by adding the lights, adding that strip of wood to hide and clean up the uneven woodwork, hiding the screws. Those type of things definitely do matter (to me at least) and I like the thought and intention you set in this space. Congrats! 🌊
Would love to see how you make a bedroom/office setup similar to this. My girlfriend I did the same for her, minus all the cable management and super awesome details. I am always afraid of putting these things on the walls but you really upgraded it all and if I was a landlord I wouldn’t complain. Been living in an apartment for 5 years now and always just had only white walls so this is a game changing space design
This is a smart room change! My favorite is the smart lighting section. All components in the room support each other. Not too much and not too little either.

But quick question: how long did it take to do the decluttering process, and how did you or Clair decide on what stays and what goes? It would be cool to see a video about that. 🙂 Good design, of course, is achieved with less, and this video clearly demonstrates that in the final reveal. The process to get there, I think, is much harder. Thanks for sharing this! Great job!
Wow, I know this was 4 or 5 months ago but that's so nice of you to do that. I've been trying to workout how to do everything myself, and learning how to use new measuring tools and power tools is such a learning curve.

When I saw that you had secured the soundboard to the wall using screws and had not immediately covered up the screw heads, I was a bit concerned, however, you rectified that later on. You’ve done really first-class job. I would be happy for you to re-design my office if we were co located in the same country, and I had the money to do it! Lovely! Just needed to hide the screws on the peg board by hooking the boards on with brackets screwed on to the rear rather than screwing through them.
🌊 Great video - I got some good ideas for my office. You may have found out by now that the cherry darkens to a beautiful reddish/brown from exposure to ultraviolet light. That process may leave lighter areas where you have things covering up the cherry, especially on the desktop. To get rid of them you might need to clean off the desk, get some of your friends to help you take the desk outside on a bright sunny day. A full day in the sun should fix the problem or at least lessen it.

For small rooms always go with white, color will make the rooms look smaller than they are. White tail by sherwin Williams looks terrific!

For the wall mounted boards you could have used a French Cleat to hang them so that there aren't any screws showing.
