      Agreed.
What do they actually DO besides waste ratepayers and taxpayers money?
      I have no idea.
They just seem to be a bunch of "middle men" raiding the wallets of ratepayers and taxpayers.
I know what they DON'T do. Ensure that ratepayers' rates are not wasted.

Christchurch is indeed doing very well.
To add, Canterbury University is the only university in NZ that is doing well.
By contrast, Massey University is fast going down the gurlger.
In the last week Massey University's SLT released a proposal for consultation that has made all staff even more angry than they were only last week. And only last week Massey's staff were already very angry!
The government should stop wasting money and now pull all funding from Massey University. That includes for all three of Massey's campuses: Palmerston North, Albany and Wellington.
Yes, closing Massey University down will severely hurt Palmerston North's economy in particular, but nothing is going to improve Massey's outlook, and Massey University's SLT is only going to make matters far worse with their mad proposals. So the sooner the government pulls the money the better it will be for NZ as a whole.
Vet studies need to be kept of course, but that can be moved from PN to Waikato Uni.

The government should force a CHCH council, Selwyn and Waimakariri merger, the main towns are all part of CHCH metro area in reality.
