New drinking game idea...
Take a shot every time Robby calls Whiskers "Bombi"...
😂😜😂
Might I suggest Amber lights for use while snowing . Super bright white will blind you in a heavy snow .
Also lights in snow should be a low as possible otherwise the light will be reflected on the falling snow and reduce visibility. Driving with low fog lights in snow is much easier that regular headlights and especially high beams.
Where I live, we drive in snow for 5 to 6 months every years, and low lights are best for visibility.
I wonder if a yellow/amber filter can be attached to some of those lights.
the pods usually have amber covers you can put on when needed....
Robby has stated he wants yellow covers and hinted for the manufactures to send him some
Do they do led ones that change colours?
If Whiskers ends up getting a full rebuild over the summer, I'm here for it 👍
Knowing how Robby is I would say it's more likely to happen next winter... 😅
The group has had practice on Matt's snow-cat, so Whiskers should be easy, or at least easier than it would have been.
Imagine that - work on the snow machine in summer? Kkooookkkkyyyy idea scoob
re-surfacing the brake rotors like that works better (more uniform) if you put them on the axels, start the engine, and place it in gear ... while they're pinning, grind away.
You only call Chad when you cannot do it yourself - Robby obviously knows how to make wiring harnesses and this way he knows the vehicle better than if Chad did it. And, like he said, Chad is a busy man.
30:24 Great job getting _Bombi_ started. I have full confidence in you next getting _Whiskers_ ready for the real world... Just in time for summer. 😅 (jk)
🤣
Poor Hilbilly, don't feel to bad, I'm embarrassed to say that I removed steering wheels for years before realizing that if I just loosened the nut and left it a few threads on, the wheel wouldn't come violently off and I wouldn't almost end up in the backseat 😂 Dang, I was worried when you cut all the wires off the connector at once 😮 ... I never do that anymore, one at a time always 😊
Hi My name is Adel from Palestine. I have been following you for a few months. You are a family full of enthusiasm and energy and you are doing wonderful work. Keep moving forward.❤❤❤
Boss Lady said it best. If it catches fire, we’ll just get a new one. ❤
Just wait till Hillbilly finishes that Bronco and wheels circles around everything you? I got your back Hillbilly. Lol
"We will do the wiring in the summertime"
I seem to remember something like that being said LAST year.
😂
never do today what you can put off till tomorrow!!.
I turn my rotors on the truck while it's on jack stands and in gear. Who needs a lathe whenever you have a 4.5" grinder.
Colton finally smacked up hillbilly?? Poor guy that lip looks a bit cartoonish. Great job getting that rats nest rewired. Huge achievement to nail it on the first try!
Hillbilly I feel your pain! I’ve punched myself in the nose a couple of times when the wrench slipped off while yanking on it!😢
You called it bombi that's a trademark infraction. Looks like a great setup on the lights.
I definitely agree with the auxiliary battery system.
You've got the space for it, and adding things like winches and compressors will be much better and easier on a secondary system without ever affecting your main engine battery
I loved Hill Billy's response. "It is not the wrong way either because it still works." Bravo.
There is a huge feeling of accomplish when you are able to do something yourself for the first time and it works! Congrats on the wiring!
I’ve seen on a Canadian Bombi owners show with a stock Pinto 1.6L engine the basic install of fuel injection which they claim eliminates any starting issues, rough running and better economy!
Edited when I realized confusion with my Tempo 2.3 and my Bobcat 1.6L Fords.
Boondoggle is a term we used in the Navy a lot so I definately know the term. Any activity of low or pointless value, especially those done intentionally in order to avoid other work or done for personal gain. When the brass would go on "training" trips where the could book per diem, meals, and benifits the crew would say "officer x is on a boondoggle".
Roby stop bullying the bronc⭐️ this truck is great!!
30:25 Poor Robby, he's worked on Bombi so much he's having trouble differentiating it from Whiskers...
I'd say doing the wiring for the headlights was a bright idea! 😁🤟
Hey you guys, it's time for a little 13x40 manual lathe. Get Keston up there for a little tooling advice and instruction and bam! You can make all your own bushings and related round parts.
Wait a minute! I thought everyone not from the South knew how to drive in snow and ice. That's what we are always told when we get a few inches of snow that stops traffic cold (sorry for the pun) here in the southern United States.
Thxs Boss no Sitbilly sitting ..
Hey guys, love the channel. I think Whiskers is sad, all the attention paid to Bombie. Have you ever considered putting running boards extending past the tracks beside doors, to avoid a potential accident like Jeremy Renner went through?
If I was going to build a snow cat, it would be just like yours. You have the best engine, long and wide tracks and it's big enough to get the whole crew in it!
Should use 12v relays for your high output items instead of having all the current run through the light switch itself. I cant wait to see whiskers out playing in its natural environment!
With full hydro, at ride height the tie rod tend to angle inwards towards the axle, because the ideal angle is for those tie rods to be flat and straight at full lock turn
Thank you I didn’t know that but after looking I think we are very close to this
People gonna start calling you lil chad ! Nice work ! This was another example of why the boss has the toughest job keeping you guys in line
3:40 the true asset of the team.
HillBilly, to break MIG tacks quickly get a big chisel and hammer, like a 5lb mallet, and just cleave it. I like the masonry chisels cuz they have the hand guard in case you miss lol
Hillbilly trying to break that bracket off had me cryin. LOL That was hilarious. Robby's timing in projects is like my sisters. They want to build a stick house in a hurricane. (Not the town. I mean the windy thing )
You’re very talented young man Robbie it’s a joy to watch somebody work hard and have enjoyment along the way and one of the biggest things that I praise you on as you have your family around you that is so important so important so many of us had to go away from home hundreds even thousands of miles away from home to survive it’s a joy to watch what’s going on here through the years thanks Robbie and family and crew you’re awesome 💕👏✊🇺🇸
Thank you for being apart of our journey!
Hillbilly has the Broncstar!! Put Demri's Bronco and Blazer together and call it The Broncinator! With a sticker on the rear that says "I'll Be Back"!! LOL
I invested in a wire tracing tool a few years ago. When you gotta figure out where a wire goes, it is an absolute lifesaver. Plus they don't take up a lot of space; might want to look into one for the shop to help with these projects - or the occasional customer vehicle.
Have to imagine it’s the same or worse than irrigation 14 ga wire. Connect to one, and they all tone at the other end.
Robbie is like the Mad electrician 😊
Robby look up the the "Big 3" upgrade people do this to car system on there vehicle. They run 0 gage ground wire to alternator and all the grounds. It makes your lights better and everything else.
Woggles are things we former Australian and British Scouts used to use to hold their scout scarves on. A boondoggle is the same thing, only a more American terms. They are often made with a braided knot that used to be known as a "Turk's Head". I still have one that I made in the early 80's from automotive speaker wire.
23:51 cool to see Robby working on the wiring. Dude knows his stuff.
Not so much on the electrical side…..
@@MechanicalMafioso he got it running…
@@carschmn also made a bunch of mistakes..
Hello Robby, Demri and Hillbilly from Sydney Australia. It was great watching you working on Whiskers. It's hot here at the moment. Much love and respect for each other; peace brother.
🌏🇦🇺
You need to replace the tiny Alternator that is not Big Enough to pull all the Lights you have installed, you need at least a 140Amp!
Go bigger ☝️ plan for that eventual trail welder
He's replacing halogens with LEDs, total draw is probably similar. It's probably not putting out enough at idle, that's common with a lot of alternators. A slightly smaller pulley can help out a lot there.
@@zyeborm And Adding Electric Winches and Lites all around so No it's not even close to the same draw, he noticed the voltage drop with just 2 lights on no where near enough Juice! AKA Upgrade 140AMP plus...
almost spit my drink out at BRONCTURD , it was so spontaneous. gotta love it! 🤣🤣🤣
Have to say I'm over it. Time to send it home and get something more interesting in the shop.
Nice seeing you up with Heavy D, Cleetus and all Snowed in.
Great video Guy’s all the best from England
Im here for the Bob Ross cameo! Nice job Hillbilly!
You need to get an toner with alligator clips and a wand. We use them in the IT field to trace wires. Clip it on one end, use the wand to trance the wire. The wire makes an audable noise any where you touch the wire that has the tone on it.
Robby, why not give Chad a call in the Spring and get all the Kitty's wiring redone, with all new 'gadgets', guages and "do-hickeies" included? That way the Kitty will be ready for next season.
Robby you have a real BABY face SMILE real cheaky
IF you smile the whole wide world smile with you
A boondoggle is a frivolous trip..going someplace you don't need to go 😂
No it ain't. A boondoggle is like renewable energy. A massive chance for people to make a huge amount of money by climbing on the bandwagon of essentially a fraud, before moving on.
27:33 ARRRRRRRGGH, grommets !!
Hey Robby keep up the good work I, hoping when I get older to have my jeep done there
Another great video. I miss The Boss's jokes. Around 30:00 or so you called poor whiskers Bombi.
Resurfacing used to be more common back in the day. Most manufacturer’s still post a minimum thickness spec for the rotors if you wish the resurface them
Hey, maybe you need to add a relay for your lights.😊 30:44
Do a big 3 with that alternator upgrade! Will help sooooooo much
You need more videos of the wife and your daughter. They are both cute and really add some sparkle to your videos. You guys are great but they just shine more and add to the appeal of the work.
Been working on Bombi so much he got whiskers mixed up with it! 😂 30:26 all in good fun Robby. Keep up the good work, it may be time to take a few days off and get some R&R.
Demry is becoming more and more beautiful each episode, and Robbie is clearly an over-achiever (like most guys)! You do look very pretty this episode Demry.
Have a good week and count your blessings amen.
Hillbilly needs to know that his steering knuckles are cast steel not cast iron. If they were cast iron then he would have to use a nickel rod and stick weld them. mig will never stick to cast iron. He is using the correct process for welding cast so that is good. Keep up the good work.
I was going to say that there’s no way that was cast iron. Just finished a welding program and cast iron is a huge pain. If he could weld cast iron he’d be making 5x what he does now 😂
@@TurdJesus actually cast iron isn't bad with the right equipment, I still enjoy stick welding from time to time so it is kind of a fun challenge to try to get a decent weld on cast iron with nickel rods. I have shown friends how even if you preheat cast iron, then mig weld a piece of mild steel to it, with what appears to be a good weld, a simple smack with a hammer will break it right off.
I’m probably so far behind on saying this, but HB, your teeth look great! We all love you sir!
Hill Billy living up to his name by doing Hill Billy things 😂😂😂
Thank you for the show guys! I enjoy watching and learning from you all!
Robbie where the hell were you in the Sparks video?? I saw everybody else jumping vehicles having a great time to snow and I caught a 2-second shot of you towing a Lamborghini😂🎉
He was there, he said 'that ll be 500 dollars...'
He was also in whistlindiesels tank video with heavy d
You need to tell us immediately, Robby!
Maybe he ‘expertly installed’ himself in the nice warm cabin 😂😂😂
I saw him get out of the black hawk then he was gone. 😂
Looks like Whiskers is coming along nicely!! Cant wait to see it in action!!
30:26 You called your snowcat bombing. lol
Whiskers is 😿
hahaha "Please don't tell them." said Robby to Hillbilly. ... HEY ROBBY we already know that Whiskers has been ignored, so sad hahahha. Whiskers is way overdue for some loving!
Take care of your tools and your tools will take care of you!
Watching Robby do wiring really makes me wonder how things work afterwards. Well done Robby.
Good morning Robby and crew! Thanks for another great video!
Glad to see Hillbilly working on the Broncstar again, can’t wait to see it rolling again.
You owe whiskers an apology! You called it Bombi at the end of the video lol
Demri Layton is in class to learn how to be his helpmate. She is the BOMB 😅😅😅
Great job on the wiring Whiskers Robby. Bronkstar is slowly getting upgrades. 🤙😎
AHA! You called Whiskers "Bombi" at the end lol... Great video as usual, thanks!
Hey man I've done plenty of wiring. Getting that harness first go is a miracle. Outstanding!
Thanks Guys
Awesome video! Thank you for sharing! 👍
Robby thats y I always enjoy your chanel cuz I learn alot and laugh alot thks for sharing your knowledge and your loving family u r awesome
I can hardly wait to see Whiskers do its thing out in the snow doing a rescue with the crew on board, just like it used too! You all had some good times rescuing people with their vehicles stuck in the snow-covered mountains in Utah! Now that Whiskers is on it way to being fixed! Having a better lighting system and heat you'll be better prepared keeping warm and seeing what has to be done for the rescue! Catch you on the next. ✌️ 😊
I have resurfaced rotors while on the axle. While the rotor spins the flex pad does a much more even surfacing. Eddie from SC. Love Layton Nation.
When Hill Billy starts painting happy little trees I am going to lose it....!
The Boss Demri was acting silly watching Robby do all that wiring. 😂😂😂😂😂😊😊
Fine job guy's, Whiskers is running again just a few more things and you could do recoveries. Hey Robby saw you in the Sparks video but didn't see you having any fun lol. Thanks for the video guy's.
Best investment will be an auxiliary battery, as you could be in very cold temperatures for many hours, plus a bigger alternator.
Robbie in my opinion you are good at wiring which is a great thing.
I know wiring takes someone very knowledgeable and pays attention to detail. Two things you are good at
I am looking forward to seeing the first recovery with whiskers
Thats what Matt did, started Bombi during down times, rather than GO time, lmao. Look forward to your take on the Snowed In wknd Robby. Ty for taking us along
Thanks for sharing 😀👍
Those belt grinders are fantastic! Gotta have one!!!
Great job on the wiring 😊
It’s alive again! Now it just requires a paint job! And also broncstar track ‘wheels’.
Great job, Robby
Nice job guys, it's a sticky, ikey snow ❄️🌲
Whiskers needs a refresh like Bombi got!
Nice job Robby Team 😊
Robby, you should Body-Liner Whiskers!!!
Great job 👏
These four make a great cast. I assumed you guys have all been friends for years...and then you were talking about 5th grade. "I once was King." - Robbie Layton. You're still King, bud. 😆
Thanks for the content
Good Job!! 😊
