I am feminist and I am not the "men hating" feminist. I believe that men and women should get there rights and should be treated equally. There is only one difference in men and women and that is biological, except that we all are same. I think so instead of raising kids based on there gender. Teach your son and daughter to respect every human regardless of the gender. Instead of stopping your son from showing emotions or asking them to be manly and telling your daughters to take care of house and cook. Give them best of the both worlds. Teach your kids that there is no work that is assigned to a single gender. Maybe than we can have a peaceful and society with less problems.

PREACH!!!! People so often think that feminism or being a feminist is equivalent to 'hating men'/ 'claiming women are superior'. It's not, because feminism stands for equality for both sexes. We not only want women to achieve equality in all senses, but we also want men to escape the trap of toxic masculinity as well! I want my guy friends to cry and express their emotions and not be judged for it just because these things are associated with women. For God's sake, how can emotions and feelings be gendered!! We are human, we feel the same; we feel sadness, longing, pain and much more. It's horrible to think that men can't express them openly, in the fear of being called out or being 'girls'. India really needs to teach both genders that you can do any kind of work, express any kind of emotion, because that's what makes us human.

It is not good that he has taken the interview of some of the people and made the demand for men's commission a joke. Now, there are many cases where a woman alleges a man for sexual assault and later it is declared as a false claim. However, meanwhile, the media and people frame the male person only as the criminal without any proof. Take the case of Sarvjeet for example. There are several other cases like this one. Also there are various laws favouring women over men. These laws become harmful when they are used by women to exploit men. Hence, because of these reasons there is a need for men's commission.
Also, please take a note that I don't disagree with feminism. That's why I am saying we need a men's commission because according to feminism, there needs to be an equality of both the genders. Hence, if the feminine gender is getting suppressed in anyway, it should get rights and representation. In the same way, if, in the present scenario, the masculine gender is getting suppressed in some of the ways due to false allegations by women or some other things, they should also get representation by the help of a men's commission. It should be understood as being on the lines of feminism and equality. What's the problem in this?

Second, I believe in equality but that doesnot come at the cost of unruly favor.
Thirdly, it is very hard to prove false case of domestic violence( that reality not talking about theory).
    Fourth, A man's mother is also a women as a man's wife.
Stereotypes that bound mens to prove their masculanity is the worst thing a men can do to himself.
    1. men can cry
    2. men have feelings and emotional being
    3. Domestic violence shouldnt be gender biased.

    • @ishanmishra9383

@@karan-gd1zm dude you're unbelievable. When did I say I was against men's rights? I said I think the idea of a men's commission is ridiculous. That's it. And I'll tell you why, since you've requested so many times in your unnecessary rant above.
1st of all, do you even know what is the (implicit) basis for the foundation of a "National Commission"? Any of them?
It's either historical injustice, or to protect a weaker/minority section of the society. Men in India don't satisfy any of these conditions.
Secondly, We already have a Human Rights Commission. Why not increase its functions to look into these cases as well? Is it not violation of human rights of a man if he's not given a fair chance to present his case and "kidnapped" by the police, as you've put it. I think the NHRC together with the SHRCs in states provide a sufficient machinery to look into these cases. In fact, one of the major problems of the existing National Commissions is the lack of funds from the government which prevents their efficient functioning. You really think having one more commission would improve things when they don't get funds in the first place?
Thirdly, even if a men's commission is formed, what will happen? Do you really think the ground situation will change? You do know that a men's commission would only be able to take the matter to the appropriate authorities and not solve the cases/punish the victims on its own right?
you yourself mentioned the apathy of the police and the courts towards men, what's gonna change if the men approach the authorities themselves or it's brought by the men's commission?
Also, the national commissions can only advice the government for a change in laws, and then it's up to the government to listen to them or not. Further, the Commissions can't even appoint their own members, they're appointed by the government. What's the point of such toothless commissions?
Fourthly, you yourself gave the solution in your rant above. The problem is with the laws and the attitude of the criminal justice system including the police and the judiciary towards men. Until these two things are changed, you can have as many commissions as you like, nothing's gonna change.
Fifthly, step out of your bubble sometime to see the actual situation of women in India and how much they're "mollycoddled" in this "great country". 70% of India lives in its villages. Can you imagine the probability of a dalit woman being raped at least once in her lifetime in rural areas? I'll help you out. It's 23% (try and imagine the number if there was no under reporting). Do you know what a genuine and considerate police officer would tell a lower caste rape victim when she goes to file an FIR? He would ask her not to. And guess what, he would actually be doing the right thing. Because if she does file an FIR, she would be harassed even more without any hope for justice, thanks to power of caste and money.
Also, since you're so considerate about my father, try and imagine for once the amount of sexual and physical violence women in this country undergo while in a marriage. They can't even report this as marital rape is not a crime in India, and most often than not suffer in silence due to several factors. This is apart from the normal rapes and violence against them. So much for mollycoddling.
If men were really so scared of the law and the law was so much against them as you're trying to project, there wouldn't be these many crimes against women in the first place.
Finally, I myself would like a situation where innocent men are not harassed. But bro, I really don't think a men's commission is gonna help. Also, women in India are not mollycoddled. And I said women in India, not high/middle class and upper caste women in urban India.

Here's where i pulled the magic number from. Also, i think i said multiple times that we need a change in the laws and the attitude of apathy towards men of the entire criminal justice system. That was actually one of the arguments i used for disregarding a national commission. Stats for other things i said can be found through an easy google search. You'll find one in this link i shared itself. Again, the entire situation can't be narrated through stats alone considering the massive under reporting and non reporting.
Anyway, i think any neutral person reading the comments can easily see which one of us is biased against a particular gender. Don't want to engage in further conversation with you considering you're the only intelligent person left and all others just bark and whine. Also, utsav chakraborty actually admitted his guilt, i don't know how that's even relevant here. You don't have to worry about me, thanks. I hope happy things happen to you and you're not always as frustrated as you're here. Good day buddy.

@Angelo Wilson how does suicide indicate the amount of torture. It is a result of fragile minds and egos. Women trafficking is prevalent and some women get raped everyday repeatedly for years while do not commit suicide and some men commit suicide because they spent lavishly before earning and now cant pay off loans. And do not talk based on the lives of privileged ones living in metro cities. Because they form the minority of India who are louder on social media but cant represent india. India is 60+% rural population where women either dont get educated or get educated to get a good husband and end up doing household chores. In small urban towns forming rest of the majority the condition gets slightly better but 'letting them work' is considered a privilege they are being given while their salaries are taken away to be regulated by men. A gender has been systemically oppressed for centuries and now a wave has come to finally give them equality. And ofcourse there has been a lot of casualty in the process. A lot of men who were innocent suffered. But amazing how people care about few years of suffering of extremely small proportion against an entire gender while they want the oppression to continue because they cant handle a little discomfort. And sure some men have a problem with feminism. Their perks are at risk because of that. But to think that saying oh rape is bad hang those bastards makes u a good person is laughable. Cuz inequality is not perpetuated just by rape. It's seen everyday and if u will be noticing in ur house too.

And in most of the families in my locality the condition is far far more worse than ours, the man spends all the money that he earns to drinking and on top of that even snatches the money his wife after doing all the housework is compelled to earn to run the house, they beat the wife and the children and at the end leave the family to start a similar new one.

The people who are saying there is no dahej pratha or dowry system. Either you are a from a different religion or culture like Christianity. Or you have a progressive and open minded family. But to be honest it is really very prominent and the sad thing is that most girls don't get a single penny from the dowry. A lot of money is spent in wedding preparations. I have seen dowry system mostly in people from Upper cast. My cousins got married and my family had to give 14-15 lakh money in dowry. When somebody gives less dowry or no dowry to the groom's family in my samaj, they are heavily criticised.

Regardless of what these people say, a Men's commission is extremely necessary. This is because we have a lot of people in Indian society who won't believe that women can act like criminals. This is sexist. Women can be criminals too. There are numerous examples of how a woman extorted money from an innocent man through divorce induced by her own self for her own selfish reasons.
I have come across at last 3 incidents amongst people very well known to me where a woman took advantage of her being a woman, torn her clothes and filed an FIR(for an unbailable offence) just because she wanted revenge for a pitiable offence.
To refuse to acknowledge the criminal tendency of women and to completely rule out female criminals in society in order to appear feministic or to appear modern is being as sexist as those who think women are abala.
And i have highlighted only one single reason here while the list is long.
Just because women were curtailed in the past doesn't have to mean that all(or some) men should suffer and face injustice; think about it in relation to Muslims. If some Muslims (or anyone) in the past acted criminal should that mean that there present Muslims be punished for it?

The interesting thing about videos is editing! You can edit and thus manipulate perspective. I understand and know the movement. Here interview is taken of random people who have personally suffered and are speaking from that perspective. It is surprising how the media channel of the repute of 'the Print' would not want to speak with the leaders of the movement and try to create a narrative, perhaps sensationalist and biased, from edited versions of people who come from a certain background and hold certain biases and try to impute it to the larger movement. Also interesting is the manner in which this so-called Journalist Shahbaz Ansar (can be found on FB) is leading people to answer questions in a certain manner. The assertion is people's and reasoning is his. In these instances would be really good if these people can produce raw and true footage of the entire interview rather than excerpts. if not in the main content area then as a link accessible through the description section.

See there are false cases when it comes to theft, murder, property disputes and even over terrorism. People have been wrongly jailed. This does happen. So It's wrong to be concerned about fake cases only when it comes to rape and dowry. And it isn't as high as it is shown to be. The statistics released by womens commission is often cited by Men's Rights activists which states 45% of dowry cases are false. But the problem with this is that many cases are withdrawn- it could be because of pressure, threats, long-time (sometimes cases are pending for more than 10 years) sometimes it's because of financial constraints as well. But the 45% stats assumes that if there is a withdrawal, it's because the case is false. Then cases which couldn't be proven beyond reasonable doubt is also included in this... ignoring the possibility of simple lack of proof in a genuine case. So when you calculate fake cases based on the number of cases which were proven to be fake beyond doubt, It comes down to some 10-12%. So it isn't as high as it's said to be. And ofcourse, people against whom fake cases are filed are victims and they deserve justice. But the issue isn't really as rampant as it's thought to be.

But as I said, the actual rate of fase cases isn't as high as it is said to be. I think, raising awareness on this issue would bring a lot of difference and sensitivity as well.

In the light of increased abuse of section 498a and other laws meant for women's protection, the need for Men's commission is self evident. Men face absolute lack of legal and social protection when women misuse laws meant for their safety.
Please do not belittle the issue by not bringing to light real reasons and causes behind this demand by men.
