I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I’d suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes.

There is something about a Brooklyn brownstone. This one is BEAUTIFUL!!! So much space and yet homey. Parents of friends of mine owned a brownstone back in the 80s. My friends lived on the top floor. The views from their floor were amazing. It was the smallest of the floors, which is why they had it, but I absolutely loved it.

The "built-in foid heater" is actually a bain marie - the space UNDER the stainless steel pot is where water is added and kept at a specified temperature. This can be used to keep food hot without more cooking OR, at a higher temperature, it will cook food (similar to a steamer).

Of course her home, from when I was there was very run down and that was back in the late 70's to early 80's, though she lived there until 2004. Cool Brownstone house. When you think of New York houses, that's still one of the first things you think about.
So, question. And this may be country specific: why is this called an appartment? I'd call this a house. It would be a house over here in the Netherlands. The basement appartment would be a flat or appartment to us. Do people in the US call any home that's not freestanding an appartment? Or is it because the building is split in two seperate units?

Also you didn't mention if the fireplaces worked or are decorative.
Say or show if the skylights in the main bedroom have automated retracting shades that cover the window would have been helpful/fun to see.

If it doesn't have stairs in front, it ain't Brooklyn ! One thing American movies teach you :) Love the landing pillar on that staircase inside. The multi-floor skylight leading the light (leet the sunshine , lereeeet the sunshine in, the sunshine ! in ! ♫ ) is a damn clever feature ! The bathroom on top floor is impressive thing too, just for the effort to construct and finish it like this. Thank you Anthony for inviting Erik to tour this property for us !

This is so much better than a lot of the apartments you've been showing lately. As everyone else is saying, very homey! Pretty rare that you can find something like that in NY. Or maybe I wasnt checking the right places haha

Whoever did the renovation did a great job.
A lovely house that could have used a decorator.

This place is a dream in a big city, wow! Yes, please show everything when you tour a house. I love seeing homes and I'm curious about not only the living spaces but the utility spaces - probably so I can imagine myself casually popping a load of laundry on then shuffling back to the movie room in my alternate universe life. haha!

"You don't even feel like your in NYC and that is a beautiful thing". My sentiments exactly and that is why I don't live in NYC.

Love the floors. I love all the cubby rooms that make the spaces intimate and cozy. Not a fan of open concept kitchens. Cooking is not for public display unless you’re Julia Child.
