I want you to laugh with me at the adventure this video took me on. I logged into Runescape for the first time in forever and decided I wanted to reach level 99 on my combat for the first time ever. I search TH-cam and your video is the first video to watch. You recommend fighting some crabs. So, I go close to where Crabclaw Isle is and I fight some sandcrabs. I notice that this is taking longer than what it said in your video and I realize that I'm fighting the wrong crab. You said Ammonite crabs. I was like, "Oh, let me figure this out." I find out through your video that I have to complete Bone Voyage to get to the Ammonite Crabs. No problem. Let me try and do Bone Voyage. I travel my happy butt back to Varrock and talk to the curator and I find out I need to do Dig Site I in order to complete Bone Boyage. Okay...no problem. Just one extra quest. Then, I learn that I need to have a higher Agility to even start Dig Site I. My eye starts twitching. Sure thing. Let me just go to Draynor Village and level up my Agility. I get my Agility up. By now, I have learned to check the quest journal for the requirements prior to running all the way to Varrock. I see I need to level up my Herbalore. Okay, how do I do that? Another quest!? Fine! I run to Taverly, complete Druidic Ritual and then I made attack potions until I leveled up my Herbalore enough. Okay, that skill is done. What other skills do I need now: level 25 Thieving. Ugh. What's the fastest way to level up thieving? QUESTS!? My whole body is twitching at this point. I'm in no mood for quests, so I just learn which one gives the most experience at lower levels which is Biohazard. Fine. I run to Ardougne just to try and find Erlena and find out I need to do Plague City in order to start Biohazard. FINE. I also completed Sheep Herder because I was confused. That one is on me. So, I complete Plague City. Find the fricken healer. Then, I start and complete Biohazard. I get my Thieving XP and then find a farmer to rob. And, somehow I need to keep food on me while robbing farmers because turns out that full rune and level 50 combat doesn't prevent damage from a pitchfork while you're stunned. I get my Thieving up. I go back to Varrock, start and complete the Dig Site Quest. Finally! I can start Bone Voyage so I can go to the Fossil Island and fight Ammonite crabs so I can level up my combat. I go to the Musuem and now I have learned that I missed something on the journal. I need 100 Museum Kudos in order to start Bone Voyage. I debate just going back to sandcrabs, but the sheer difference in XP drives me to stay and get these Kudos. Okay. How do I get Kudos? I have to do tasks around the Museum according to the Information Clerk. That's fine. I help the archaeologists and go downstairs and help with the quizzes. I complete those tasks and have 78 points. I need 22 more. Who is the last person I can talk to? Historian Minas. I go to talk to him. He wants to learn about quests. Okay.....I tell him about the ones I completed, check my kudos, and I don't have enough!? How do I get more? More quests! I breathe the loudest sigh and then embark on the following quests and yes, in this order: - Dragon Slayer - Demon Slayer - Shield of Arrav - Rune Mysteries After completing these, (and honestly over preparing for Dragon Slayer. At combat level 50 and some Shark, it was easy peazy), I run back to the museum and YAY! I can start Bone Voyage! Finally! I look at the guide for Bone Voyage and see they recommend a Dig Site necklace. I need level 49 Magic and I'm at level 45. I quickly level up my magic by cursing the Zammarock Monk in Varrock, enchant these necklaces, then I run all over Varrock and Port Sarim to get the ingredients to make a bone charm and a potion of sealegs. Then, I fail the sailing portion like six times before finally making it to Fossil Island where I currently am fighting Ammonite Crabs. TLDR, I did all the following before being able to get to those crabs: - Dragon Slayer - Demon Slayer - Shield of Arrav - Rune Mysteries - Dig Site I - 100 Museum Kudos - Biohazard - Plague City - Sheep Herder - Druidic Ritual - Leveled my Thieving from 1 - 25 - Leveled my Agility from 1 - 31 (you really only needed 10 though) - Leveled my Herbalore from 1 - 10 - Leveled my Magic from 45 - 49 All to fight some crabs.
I'm sticking with sand crabs until 99 strength 😂 haven't left crab claw island since friday night, currently level 85 strength, only another 170 hours to go, sigh.
I just wanted to say I loved your short story and read every word. It gave me big flashbacks to my early rs career. I had the exact same thing happen, when I wanted to optimize doing slayer, by getting the procelyte armor. I figured it would be simple enough, the next thing I know, I'm in a 3 day journey of quests and leveling to not only get it, but wear it as well. With that being said, unless you're familiar with the game, rushing to max a stat, especially combat, efficiently.. is not ideal. Getting to 60-70 is pretty solid for most content. If it's your first time playing, it's advised to complete all the ftp quests, and most of the easy p2p quests first, as they unlock Soo much content for later. Personally (if you're p2p I suggest taking the slow route to training, by doing it through slayer. Killing crabs or doing NMZ is purely for xp. Doing it through slayer nets you ALOT of gp, and you'll max all combat skills by the time you reach 99 slayer. Getting slayer levels also unlocks the ability to fight certain monsters that you couldn't before, that have insanely good drops, like gargoyles, kurasks, Abby demons and my favorite... Nechreals.. if anyone ever needs help, or just another friend to play with, my IGN is CassieTasset
I'd recommend slayer, it has more variety on what you kill, the exp may be a bit slower but has potential for lots of money. Nmz is faster, and afk, but also boring and no rewards except for the points for imbues and herb boxes etc
I’ve read if you’re going for 99 slayer it’s efficient to nmz attk/str/def to 85 and by 99 slayer you’ll be 99 in them all. If you’re going for 200m slayer it’s more efficient to nmz to 99 in str def attk.
not if you dont have 92+hp, full obsidian with a berserker necklace is optimal until then. also the attack speed of the great axe is like twice as slow as the obby sword lol come on kid

This grind ducks so bad. Im 98 right now, trying my ass off to 99. I found that a healthy account of lost control took some edge off while giving me more exp than anything else. Days in the nightmare zone, waking up every 20 minutes or so to not logg out, only to find im getting 53k per hour. Can't wait for this hell to end .
buy why do we need the orb / cake? and since this is my first time doing this, what is the best way as a beginner to get points to buy the potions? and why is it best to have only 1 hp?
Orb/cake is to bring health down to 1hp You want to do this for 2 reasons. 1: use less absorption potions 2: if you use DH armor you hit the max damage with the least amount of HP. The xp might be low at first but the higher the level and armor/weps the better the xp you get. Hope this helps 🤓

I'm not sure you truly be able to AFK for 9 hours at nightmare zone considering you have to reoverload potion every 5 minutes and you have to rock cake your hp back down so you do kind of have to pay attention

Yes motion is correct, seperate client. Same as Runelite but it is verified as a safe client per jagex :) but super clean client. and very low end specs needed to use haha

Yeah.. there's sooo many new "in-betweens" now in OSRS. I'm currently trying to hit two goals, 60 attack and 70 defense. I knew about the granite maul.. but I had no idea there was a granite HAMMER that had the same speed as a scim?? Wish I knew that before I got 58 attack

Because the 20/25 minute timer won’t log you out. The absorption pot won’t run out. You use those to get to 1000 and afk those make it so your hp doesn’t go down just the amount of hits you can take. The overload or combat potion is what runs out and technically you don’t need those but they increase your dps per hour and save some absorption hits.
So you’re using absorption potion in order to not take damage ? I’m a low hp still but want to grind my combat up , want to use your method but worried about the crabs killing me lol
Also I have 43 prayer but not sure how that works , just activate it and keep using prayer potion to keep it at 43 to not get damaged ? Trying to use it to kill the tree gnome village boss
@@markmurray2411 yes the potion only work in Night mare zone though. but the crabs wont kill you, they have a low max hit and high hp. bring full inventory of lobster and you will be more then fine to camp there all day.
You technically don’t. You only need to lower your HP to 1 and keep it there. Reason being the lower your HP is with DH the more critical strikes you will hit which = more XP/PH
Slayer is probably the best route. Make a ton of gp and gain more experience with the fighting mechanics that will inevitably help you with end game content.

you should really note down the pre reqs for ammonite crabs.. you need to do bone voyage.. but need digsite before that.. and to do that you need herblore and agility.. which also requires another quest to use herblore

Wait how come u say that u can afk 20 minutes without clicking once in NMZ when u have to click on your overload potion every 5 minutes?? Your health hoes back to 51 hp every 5 minutes??

You can’t be afk for 15 mins with overloads. You have to re-pot every 5 mins or your health goes up to 51 and the bosses will shred your absorption

I also recommend sand crabs in the 3 crab spot and praying 15% strength. You can run up to the altar right next to it.

If you have absorption potion. You don't need a rock cake. Unless your Dh'n
When you eat the rock cake until your 1 hp, the monsters can only max a 2. Which would maximize your absorption pot

i dont understand, you say you can afk 15-20 mins but the absorbtion is only 5 mins
Because the 20/25 minute timer won’t log you out. The absorption pot won’t run out. You use those to get to 1000 and afk those make it so your hp doesn’t go down just the amount of hits you can take.
The overload or combat potion is what runs out and technically you don’t need those but they increase your dps per hour and save some absorption hits.
So you’re using absorption potion in order to not take damage ? I’m a low hp still but want to grind my combat up , want to use your method but worried about the crabs killing me lol
Also I have 43 prayer but not sure how that works , just activate it and keep using prayer potion to keep it at 43 to not get damaged ? Trying to use it to kill the tree gnome village boss
@@markmurray2411 yes the potion only work in Night mare zone though. but the crabs wont kill you, they have a low max hit and high hp. bring full inventory of lobster and you will be more then fine to camp there all day.

You technically don’t. You only need to lower your HP to 1 and keep it there. Reason being the lower your HP is with DH the more critical strikes you will hit which = more XP/PH

Slayer is probably the best route. Make a ton of gp and gain more experience with the fighting mechanics that will inevitably help you with end game content.

you should really note down the pre reqs for ammonite crabs.. you need to do bone voyage.. but need digsite before that.. and to do that you need herblore and agility.. which also requires another quest to use herblore

sure they give pretty good XP rates, but for the most afk method and being efficient NMZ would be most optimal for longevity.

Tons of ways. Specially past level 60+ from monster drops. This is by far one of the best money makers in the game! I will be making on the in the future as well @Matas 😁
