Congrats on the channel man and owning your dream car, and now, a home! Been watching since 40k I think. I'm shy and introverted myself but have recently tried TH-cam content creation. Keep going
I actually saw some old tires from a Tesla recently, and yes the have a foam cushion lining the center of the tires. The only bad thing about waiting till the tires are nearly bald to replace is you're at more risk for a blowout, and when it's raining with driving on wet roads you're at more risk of losing control, and stopping distance is increased. After I learned about the risks, I buy tires a lot sooner than I used to. If you've got a spare vehicle that sits parked most of the time, even if the tires look brand new with full tread, they say old tires will go bad and at risk of a blowout.
Blowout isn't real unless they're old tires. I haven't had one since I got tpms. Driving on flats causes tires to explode. Wire is fine. I drive mine til they start leaking everytime.
@@ryanmckee3102 not true. My friend just had a 3 year old tire blowout going down the road and had his baby with him. Tire wasn't even that worn. Don't mess around with tires, they're literally the only thing keeping you connected to the road. And yes, they do expire. You should change them even if they don't have wear after 8-10 yrs or so. I could be wrong on the amount of years so use your own research it's been awhile since I last paid attention to that so maybe it's changed.
17:40 to hear you say "theres nothing i had to do to it, i just drove it everyday" is ccraazzyyyyy when i've so far heard about how many things a shop has had to touch and fix on this. Good lord.
That material holds on to everything. When i detail teslas, vacuuming doesnt do much. The shampoo and brush step are what loosen the crap that gets on the fabric material.

I really do wish the best for you! your vids bring enjoyment to people. On the side note I am pretty suprised with how well the tesla has held up after that many miles, a car will only treat you as well as you treat it though you seem to really take good care of it compared to most tesla owners
I got a used 2018 Model 3 LR AWD recently and been pretty okay. I was supposed to get a Prius but the same miles and year, it was more expensive. It’s a really fun car and hoping to drive it to the ground. So far no issues.
Be aware of the front control arm issues as he mentioned in the video. Imo the pre 2021 models aren’t worth getting with that issue and older software/hardware, plus older batteries. The price difference between a used 2021-2022 model with like 50k miles and a 2017-2020 are negligible. In some cases the newer model years are even cheaper with better software/hardware and newer batteries.
Could you please do a video explaining the difference between what exactly the "Drive Train" warranty includes and all this other mechanical stuff/issues?
Well done. I think you are well positioned for when Cybercab becomes reality. You'll have a already setup and paid off business ready to go. I suspect more revenue with less working hours inputs. And you'll have the jump on creating content for what I believe will increase in popularity. All the best.

I really like your blue wrap. The only thing is why did you put black above the door frame? It takes away the good look from the car. Great video. Beautiful car!
I've rotated my tires on my Model 3 with literally only 1 jack, and it wasn't even a low profile floor jack, and I'm not a mechanic in the slightest. If a dedicated car shop can't figure out how to rotate the tires on a Model 3, even if they just use 2 or 3 floor jacks, they don't deserve to be in business and all of their "mechanics" need to have their licenses or whatever revoked. That actually just broke my entire soul to hear that there are really people that are that incompetent that exist in our world.
Tires: Respect them and they will respect you. @11:00 I drive all my brand new vehicle to 4/5 years just to buy a new set of tires. Don't drive too close to the edge of a road/near pedestrian sidewalk as it's the most likely place to have nails/glass and sharp objects.
I will only consider an EV if they solve these 2 issues: 1. Charging locations galore with no more than 5 minute charging times to 100%. 2. More EV specialized repair shops. I was skeptical of battery longevity like everyone else but it seems like the technology is solid and reliable so the battery wouldn’t scare me. Also the tire situation is commonly overlooked and that’d irritate me.
It is refreshing to see proper economic calculations. Tesla savings calculator is plain wrong (I made some testing against it a couple of months ago). One good indicator is that you used about 7 000 kWh more than what Tesla's own mileage numbers give. Tesla's calculator also overestimates gas price and severely underestimates electricity price. TCO: 41 cents/mile so far (probably 11 cents/mile less, if you sell your car now).
hmm why didnt you consider a chevy volt. got my 2013 volt 1.5 yr ago, paid 6k cash. 95k miles on the odom. put 45k miles on it since then, saved 6k in gas. when i need to go further than the 50-55 miles of range, gas is actually cheaper than fast charging. my insurance is 21$/mo. free car yo, no compromises, between a model 3 and model y in size, has a hatch. feel like everyone dismissed the volt as a prius and was too busy looking at teslas to realize the cheapest car to own is a phev before people even used that acronym. so far no maintenance, changed the oil just for fun and installed a solar roof to boost range.
100hp, and very low top speed :( i did look into them before i got the nissan leaf, but it just didn't excite me. while the leaf had very little range, something about relying entirely on a small battery with no backup felt really unique and adventurous lol. i do still see volts more often than leafs nowadays though!
@@GoHerping well the gen1 volts have a 55kw + 110kw electric motor. you can hack them with a vx nano obd2 dongle to make them think theyre cadelac ELR's (same exact drive train and electric motors) which lets you combine the kw output of both ev motors. according to google, a model 3 has ~240kw of power to the motors, about 40% more than the volt, can easily spin the tires with off the line torque so the gen1's are basically traction limited because of front wheel drive. not sure what the hp rating has to do with the volts performance, unless youre trying to compare it to how a prius works, which is a mistake most people make edit: actually a 2023 model 3 standard range only allows 208kw to the wheels and weighs 15% more than a volt, so a hacked 1st gen volt has more theoretical acceleration, not to mention rare earth motors are much better for low end torque. guessing the model 3 would still win because its rwd, but just funny to me that people thought the volt was slow.
true lol. but funnily, the cybertruck is aluminum frame with steel (and plastic) body. while mine is a steel frame with aluminum (and plastic) body. they did a little switcharoo
You've been kinda unlucky with the maintenance/repairs despite that number being low compared to other vehicles. I'm around 100k on a 2020 Model Y Long Range Here is my list: -Driver Occupancy Sensor(warrantied) -Low voltage battery(warrantied) -Windshield($1,100) -Tires $2,300... got about 30k on the stock tires, 60k miles on Michelin Crossclimate2, and bought another set of Crossclimate2 at 90k miles that should last me until 150k -Windshield wipers 100$
EVs are great but there's zero chance in hell i would purchase anything from a Musk company. Also, the number of tires you've gone through is nuts. 😂🤷♀️
I’m a brain Doctor, I believe you have a severe case of EDS, or Elon derangement syndrome. It causes blindness, brain fog, and lowers IQ. The only cure is to buy a Tesla.
Couldn't have said it better myself. Only EV's that look interesting imo are Xiaomi SU7 (just bc of the price alone, but not available in US), N Vision 74 (if it ever gets made lol), and the Lucid Air Sapphire (beautiful inside and out but expensive). Would much rather have a car with controls I can touch without having to take my eyes off the road (looking at a screen) or swiping over some smooth capacitive buttons that force you to look at them to know you're hitting it vs the tactile sensation of a button/knob/indicator stalk, and I'm in my 20s so it's not like I'm some old man yelling about how much better things used to be way back when.
If you're really serious about not using Musk company products then you'll likely need to stop using electricity. So many MegaPack batteries are getting installed stabilizing the grids around the world.
Tesla driver's go through tires primarily due to their driving habits, not the weight of the car. Model 3 weighs less than a Cadillac CTS, and the CTS isn't known for burning through tires.
What i love about electric vehicles (especially in a city where i live) is the air quality improvement, less noise and just a nicer experience to sit in public transport etc. The city bus, that is now all electric doesn't smell like shit anymore like the gasoline powered ones, doesn't make you wanna puke when it accelerates from full stop etc, no loud engine roar. Like when i was a wee lad when cash was still king, and our school route bus tickets were stamped by the busdriver, and the busdriver carried a Habbo Hotel leather pouch and coin dispenser, i'm just thankful for EV's is all i'm gonna say, you kids today have no idea how horrible it was in the early 2000's!..
How much has the battery degraded? I bought the same car a few months before you and have about 88k miles. The car says 200 miles is the range at 100%. It seems to have degraded a bit more than I expected
the number listed is different from degradation, since it's just an estimate on driving habits. i think mine is around 195-200 at 100%. i would guess my actual degradation is less than 10%, but maybe someday i'll do a battery test!
i think of it kind of as a competitor to dodge chargers and that sorta market. large/spacious, fast+powerful but low quality interior, and similar prices when you consider different trims
I drive ride share in boston and tge amount of people that I put up always seems to have negative things to say about Tesla. 1 guy even said that he wanted to put the blame on something and that something is Tesla. Whatever that mean? But I owned my Tesla for 5 years now and it’s still a cool car I love it. Yes maybe I worry about the battery but it’s not like it’s going to deplete completely. It’s a slow moving process. If I can have my Tesla for another 4-5 years. I will be be more than happy if the car goes out completely bc I have well over made my money and save money too. I live so much thing like I really like the regenerative braking slow to a stop. Just let go of the accelerator. I’m so used to Tesla now that driving a regular car is so boring. It’s like having a iPhone 15 and down grading to a iPhone 10. For example.
thanks! it's a 3m vinyl wrap. i sadly didn't record wrapping this one, but i do have a Subaru wrap playlist: th-cam.com/play/PLIXZgmnvg0nAeHtySPTMPKoiUKM0bSPIa.html
Wow was thinking getting Tesla Next year , but the maintenance is actually more expensive than a Japanese car. I only had to change oil, tire, and battery, for all 10 years of driving.
For everything you spent you could’ve bought two brand new Toyota Corolla hybrids that go over 700 miles on one tank. But you can afford the Tesla so don’t listen to me lol.
Holy moly. As much as I want an EV - the build quality is a sticking point for me. My Honda which I’ve had since new has gone 100k miles with only fluid changes, brakes, and tires. I can’t understand why these teslas wear through suspension parts so quick. Must be the weight.
I mean, the dude literally drives for Amazon and likely does a lot of other driving. That is a lot of wear and tear on a car, and as said by himself, he drives “fast”.

Great video! Crazy how many tires you’ve replaced, I’ve had my Y for 2 years and still driving on the originals. However, I have had to plug them 9 times after picking up screws. I am at Home Depot a lot 😆 I’ve done all of the plugs in place without jacking the car and has probably saved me thousands. I don’t leave home without an inflator & plug kit… a battery power drill also helps in case you can’t get the plug into the puncture. I’ve had to drill out a slightly larger hole before plugging it but all have held great
Congrats on the channel man and owning your dream car, and now, a home! Been watching since 40k I think. I'm shy and introverted myself but have recently tried TH-cam content creation. Keep going
love the transition
Great video! Thank you for the thorough explanation with immaculate detail! Fun to watch as well! Can't wait to see you at 300k and beyond!
I see what you did there with the MKBHD thing. Nice!
@@ryanmckee3102 Hope I'm never driving next to you on the road...
Ain't no way 😅. If you spending 25,000 on a down payment. You might as well pay for a used Toyota Corolla.
Then he'd be stuck with a used Corolla. You get what you pay for.

how is your insurance so cheap not even $100? which company did you go through? are you on the insurance by yourself?
It was interesting to see that your yearly maintenance is about the same as mine is on my civic
17:40 to hear you say "theres nothing i had to do to it, i just drove it everyday" is ccraazzyyyyy when i've so far heard about how many things a shop has had to touch and fix on this. Good lord.
5:25 (I’m sorry to be that guy but why didn’t you vacuum the rest? Its bothering me)
That material holds on to everything. When i detail teslas, vacuuming doesnt do much. The shampoo and brush step are what loosen the crap that gets on the fabric material.
Dude it’s wild how many tires you’ve gone through lol. I’m on a model Y. 55k miles and I just replaced my tires the first time. I also drive in chillll mode. So maybe they’re lasting longer because I don’t drive that fast
Very nice ownership explanations. Don't forget to clean around the door seals of the doors! Great job
Love your content. I love that your knowledgeable in lots of areas but where your not, your open with us!
Very humble and I love it.
As your grinding out content, it’s awesome how interesting it is!
I picked up a used 21’ ID.4 and I am really happy with it!
U make some good videos man I wasnt around for your reptile videos but I really enjoy the editing you do and how organized the vids are. I really do wish the best for you! your vids bring enjoyment to people. On the side note I am pretty suprised with how well the tesla has held up after that many miles, a car will only treat you as well as you treat it though you seem to really take good care of it compared to most tesla owners
I can't get through my head the insane amount of tyres you went through, like how fast do you drive the thing?
All the best.
thanks! if the cybercab ever actually comes to market, i'd love to be one of the first with one
@GoHerping It might need a upgrade, but your Model 3 should be able to be a robotaxi.
Are seem to be well positioned in life. Stay debt free.
Who do you have for insurance? And how many miles on the car?
i have been watching yr vids just latly and i really like them fr i yr way of story telling is so cool keep up

My Toyota Sienna minivan has no expenses other than fuel and oil change. But it is a minivan van 😮
I really like your blue wrap. The only thing is why did you put black above the door frame? It takes away the good look from the car. Great video. Beautiful car!
no shot you include the mkbhd speedometer at the end lol
Not too bad tbh. An equivalent priced Audi would have destroyed you with maintenance by now. Plus you got a decent loan.
Could’ve saved 50k driving a Civic. 62k is crazy.
False. But also, he could have saved even more riding a bicycle but you can't Uber with a bicycle or a $2k civic lol.

WOW. Wasn't that much money but there it is. The final breakdown but I'm not surprised. You do drive a lot of miles.
if you own a tesla you need to just live next to a tire store. The tires are always either flat, worn badly or the cords showing.
Thank you for all the information, I’ve been curious 😅.
Love your videos bro keep it up
I've rotated my tires on my Model 3 with literally only 1 jack, and it wasn't even a low profile floor jack, and I'm not a mechanic in the slightest.
Idk much about cars, but you are very engaging to listen to.
Easy to follow with no knowledge myself
thanks :D
These are great cars. They ride great and are very fun to drive. Got my first EV a year ago, 2023 MYP, and have loved it so much
i would use your videos for lizard info and now I watch your videos for you. the videos are great man.
Liked it before i watched it. Love the videos where you explain stuff.
Tires: Respect them and they will respect you. @11:00 I drive all my brand new vehicle to 4/5 years just to buy a new set of tires.
Don't drive too close to the edge of a road/near pedestrian sidewalk as it's the most likely place to have nails/glass and sharp objects.
I will only consider an EV if they solve these 2 issues:
Tires every year??!?!?
every 6 months ))

@@GoHerping well the gen1 volts have a 55kw + 110kw electric motor. you can hack them with a vx nano obd2 dongle to make them think theyre cadelac ELR's (same exact drive train and electric motors) which lets you combine the kw output of both ev motors. according to google, a model 3 has ~240kw of power to the motors, about 40% more than the volt, can easily spin the tires with off the line torque so the gen1's are basically traction limited because of front wheel drive. not sure what the hp rating has to do with the volts performance, unless youre trying to compare it to how a prius works, which is a mistake most people make
edit: actually a 2023 model 3 standard range only allows 208kw to the wheels and weighs 15% more than a volt, so a hacked 1st gen volt has more theoretical acceleration, not to mention rare earth motors are much better for low end torque. guessing the model 3 would still win because its rwd, but just funny to me that people thought the volt was slow.
That bumper issue reminds me of the cybertruck towing issue.
true lol. but funnily, the cybertruck is aluminum frame with steel (and plastic) body. while mine is a steel frame with aluminum (and plastic) body. they did a little switcharoo
When new 240 miles of range? Never told us current state of health of the battery or what your range on a full charge is now.....
i haven't noticed a difference, degredation in model 3s isn't really a thing the way it is in older EVs
Not too mention how safe it is compared to other vehicles.
true
Thanks man
Literally thinking about getting one myself
Probably sometime in 2025
Which insurance $98 so cheap? Is it comprehensive or liability?
You've been kinda unlucky with the maintenance/repairs despite that number being low compared to other vehicles.
I'm around 100k on a 2020 Model Y Long Range
Here is my list:
-Driver Occupancy Sensor(warrantied)
-Low voltage battery(warrantied)
-Windshield($1,100)
-Tires $2,300... got about 30k on the stock tires, 60k miles on Michelin Crossclimate2, and bought another set of Crossclimate2 at 90k miles that should last me until 150k
-Windshield wipers 100$
Tell us what you use to take out jeans stains from the white seats
$98 for your insurance :O That is crazy low, is that Tesla insurance or a different one?
love all these videos! Also how many times have you been pulled over????
ty! all that's important is i have 0 points on my liscense
Can you go over the traffic tickets/court incidents?
i have one recent funny interaction on dashcam that i'll probably post soon :)
Get the Toyos, probably a little better than Michigan, a little more than half the price
It seems to have degraded a bit more than I expected
the number listed is different from degradation, since it's just an estimate on driving habits. i think mine is around 195-200 at 100%. i would guess my actual degradation is less than 10%, but maybe someday i'll do a battery test!
i’m loving your videos.
Tesla's quality doesn't compete with premium cars.
i think of it kind of as a competitor to dodge chargers and that sorta market. large/spacious, fast+powerful but low quality interior, and similar prices when you consider different trims
Great job on that video very thorough
The issue i have in collision time and the cost of insurance.
What is you battery degradation at 150k in miles ?
Watching through ALL the ads because we know our boi could use those munnnies $$$
Great video! How is your car insurance only $98 per month?
thanks! i think mostly because it's bundled with so many other things. i imagine it'd be "worse" if it were just the one car

Wow was thinking getting Tesla Next year , but the maintenance is actually more expensive than a Japanese car. I only had to change oil, tire, and battery, for all 10 years of driving.
This one is a 2019, likely had some worse quality issues. The 2024 Model is more refined.
Yep, a prius would be less than half of the cost of what he spent on that tesla
Japanese is the way to go
I love Toyota Corollas. After my first one was totaled earlier this year, I immediately got another one.
I went to a discount tire place with my EV, they called me back because they couldn’t get the trunk open.
$62,000 down the toliet. Not to mention the indirect costs of depreciation. It's your money.
Test drove a model 3. It was unexpectedly loud. Is this a normal thing or did the vehicle I drove is an outlier?
For everything you spent you could’ve bought two brand new Toyota Corolla hybrids that go over 700 miles on one tank.
But you can afford the Tesla so don’t listen to me lol.
Fantastic video
What insurance company are you with?
Please tell me your insurance provider, I pay 311 a month
Holy moly. As much as I want an EV - the build quality is a sticking point for me. My Honda which I’ve had since new has gone 100k miles with only fluid changes, brakes, and tires. I can’t understand why these teslas wear through suspension parts so quick. Must be the weight.
Did I hear that right? 23 tires!?!?
I mean, the dude literally drives for Amazon and likely does a lot of other driving. That is a lot of wear and tear on a car, and as said by himself, he drives “fast”.
