I almost cried when you explained the feeling of owning your car since the final payment ❤ im really happy and proud of you! You have overcome so much this year
Gotta be honest Alex, ive been around since the first unboxing vid (which I miss) but something that always made me smile and feel good, was watching you sticking around doing things like this, and not the 'big things you gotta do by X point in your life' and jus, going through it. Really appreciate ya.
That buying a car feeling is so true. While I am still paying my car off, its been over a year and I still look out the window and do double takes when I am out. Like this is mine. I am paying for this. Just being in a position to be able to afford a car is nice. For most of my life, I was not and I don't take it for granted.
I had a really weird one where I almost paid off my Leaf so I was almost at that point and I was so excited. I then realized I could finance a Tesla and found the perfect opportunity and went for it, which meant trading in my Leaf. The dealer asked me to pay it off to sweeten the deal so I did. It was surreal having a car I technically owned for a brief moment to trade it in. I got the title in the mail a bit after and it just felt so...I don't know another word that fits other than surreal. Drove the title to the dealer (3-4 hour drive) as an excuse to drive my dream car. lol
Im trying to speed run my 100k student loan payments. My husband covers life expenses and literally all of my paycheck goes to student loans. 🙃 So far so good. Congrats to you!
Congrats! You described car ownership to a T! I paid my Malibu off in 2022 after 5 years and the feeling was epic! For those entire 5 years, I just couldn't believe it was my car and often caught myself going random places just to drive it lol. Yeah it was nothing fancy, just a Malibu but I loved it. However, I lasted one year of no payments before I traded it in July 2023 for My dream car: a Cadillac and now I have that new car elation all over again lol!
It does save interest. If you look in the fine print, loans are generally accruing interest daily. Make an interest payment along with your regular payment. Then all of your monthly payment is going towards the balance. That’s why it takes so long. If you’re paying a minimum payment, you’re mostly only paying interest. That’s why it’s the minimum.
@ you would also most likely notice the billing cycle. There are usually 13 billing cycles a year, while a minimum monthly payment person is only making 12 payments. Minimum payments should come with a complementary reach around.
never return, always deliver imo. returning is a guaranteed penalty to your account standing, but risking theft is much less likely to affect the driver
@@GoHerping I get it. I used to flex too and hated those inner city deliveries. Especially early morning or late night when the person was sleep and couldn't buzz me in. It guarantees i'd have to go back to the station. Just saying that package is for sure getting stolen!
holy shit, I relate 100% to every word you said about your Model 3. I bought a Model Y in 2020 and feel the exact same way. I'm also at 140,000 miles. I feel like it is the perfect car for me and I would instantly buy it again if I had to.
I loved watching this video. The format was really cool. I also have some debt I am paying off right now and can relate to the feeling of paying one off. Especially paying one off early. Best wishes for your continued journey! I'll be here watching lol.
I’ve been watching you since your reptile videos and honestly I love your new videos just as much. I’m proud of you for paying off your car, that’s not an easy accomplishment, especially in this economy. Give yourself a pat on the back mannnnn 🎉
Sharing your journey while sharing your life story is truly inspiring! I’ve been following your content for a while, and it has motivated me a lot. I even picked up a side gig as a delivery driver and decided on a Tesla as my current car after subscribing to your channel. Thank you Akex for sharing so openly; your videos are making a real difference! 🤗
I did this for years full time. If you keep your expenses low. Wake up early and keep pushing. It can be your 9 to 5 while you work on a 5 to 9. Podcast that educate you while driving. Save. Embrace your hobbies. Turn those hobbies into profit. You’ve just created a path to complete and total freedom from meaningless work.
Bro your side quests got to be the most insane things I've seems, you went from owning a whole reptile rehabilitation business to one-wheeling around Gettysburg, to trying to pay off a car with Amazon flex
Damn man thats so badass you still have that new car feeling after all this time! I’ve had over 15 vehicles the past 3 years and nitpicked them all of them after a few weeks. I know the feeling you’re talking about, and thats a good feeling!
correct me if im wrong, but it feels like you had a lot of fun editing this video and if you didnt, still great job, really enjoyed the doors closing to the music
I find it strange that American delivery drivers just leave packages at the door without ensuring someone receives them. Here in the Netherlands, delivery drivers always ring the doorbell, and if no one answers, they take the package back and try to deliver it again the next day.
Same story here. Bought a 2022 bmw 5 series while working at amazon part time and being in collage. I didn't buy the car new i cant afford nearly 70k car but I still got it from a dealer at a good price put a good down payment and financed it for 3 years it has low miles, clean title and with 3 year warranty. The amazon job is enough to pay of the car. Many people are surprised at the car i drive while being a 19 year old college student, maybe it was a stupid move to buy such a car the insurance is high and God forbid it breaks down the service is very expensive but i still love it and dont regret it.
You are doing great for your age, sh*t... for any age your crushing it. Better off than most people. Keep it up brother we love you. Doing good work friend.
I didn’t realize I’ve gone so long without watching a video from you! And what a video it was. I really needed to see this. Like you, I’m young (with aspirations) and got myself a Tesla as well, bit off more than I could chew, and now I’m using it to deliver people their UberEats orders in order to pay the note 😅 It’s refreshing to see someone that did the same for their own reasons as well.
Surprisingly inspirational video! I have some small pockets of debt (thanks, homeownership..) that I've just been nursing. I'm one of those that prefers to see cash-on-hand and forgets that getting rid of debt is more important. Hearing of your euphoria at watching the debt sink down dollar by dollar kinda has me jazzed to do the same thing! Debt free via jealousy is still debt free, right? 😂
Loved this video. Amazing editing. The praying mantis hitchhiker was cute, also. Fully agree on so many points. I was watching the used market for Model 3's (and old Model S's) for years and years. Eventually I found a job that I could reasonably do on the side to pay to finance one, so I went for it. Took a lot of headaches, but I found a '19 Model 3 Long Range with FSD and talked them down to $25k to get the federal tax rebate (they didn't apply it as the dealer but I'll get it in tax season) and my state is giving $5k for buying a used EV so it breaks down to $16k+interest. SO cheap for a Tesla. To top it off, the previous owner left me the floor mats and it had a protective coat. Because it's a Tesla, I get all the updates and my 5-year-old car with only like 30k miles feels like a brand new car. I feel so happy every time I get in. It never gets old. (The FSD is also entertaining to use.) I didn't even know Amazon Flex was a thing. It's probably not available here (waitlists aside) but I do wonder if there's something like it I can do on the side. Probably Door Dash. The amazing thing to me is that I could even commute to a larger city to do this sort of thing. (Previous car was an old Leaf that'd only drive 60 or so miles max on a charge so this 300ish is wild.)
NICE. yeah that sounds like a great pick, especially under 25k. i suspect they're likely at the best part of the depreciation curve to purchase one today, still very reliable but have lost like half their value
@@GoHerping Yeah. That's part of why I went for it. I saw the value of Teslas were just plummeting and I had to get in, because I know the actual value of them is way more. Started hearing about it with the Hertz rentals being sold off but those would've been slightly risky with the high milage plus probably not taken care of. Hopefully, when I decide to move on to the next one, I'll get a nice highland model used or by then the model S with Steam support will be reasonable used? Would be cool. Either way I don't think I could go without FSD. I love it so much.
Instead of eating fast food spend a day making burger patties out of lentils, chick peas, reduced to sell veg and ground beef. You'll make like 30 burgers for the price of 2 McDonald's meals (buy everything on sale, blend up. Use an egg and flour to bind the ingredients and freeze individually.
I would be interested in a video on your thoughts of running ( and closing) a business. As someone who has/had several ventures operating at once ( TH-cam, gig apps, animals) how did you structure the businesses ( sole proprietor, LLC, independent contractor) your experiences with it and would you do things different. If you can make a 30 minute video on paying off a car loan entertaining I have confidence you can do the same with business structure.
So I drive for a living as well and I used to fuck with coffee every day. I was more of the dessert in a can double shot kind of guy. But it was like $6-$8 a day on canned coffee. I ended up switching to gamer sups because it's like 100mg per scoop and like 100 servings per container. I've been saving a ton a money with it. I still get coffee as a treat every once in awhile but idk I like their flavors and it's easier to keep around in my truck!
An easy "side hustle" that my bf did for a little while is donating plasma. They had thing where for the first month you get $100 per donation (2x per week) then after that it's usually like 50-70$ per donation. Once you get through the initial setup for it it's usually like an hour long to be in and out.
I'm so jealous because I have an online acquaintance that does that for some serious money and here I am with a needle phobia and blood phobia. There's no way I could do it. Last time I tried to do a blood test, I contracted a fever and almost passed out.
I am so ready to be accepted for flex, paying off my Elantra early would be amazing it's only $101 a month which is very doable but not owing a shark a dime is amazing. When I crave a coffee and spend $5 on one I make sure I buy $5 of what ever brand I just bought from, that interest and DRIP adds up.
My dream car was my alien green 2019 Kia soul + (bought in 2018 for $16-18k @ 3%). I finally paid it off in 2023, it had less than 20k miles thanks to covid. I LOVED that car and was so proud of myself. The universe thought otherwise and decided to place a deer in the middle of the road one night, and my dream car was totaled in an instant. 😢 Please be safe on these streets.
Congrats mister🍾💰🏎️ 18:12 but you play too much though 😇😂. I really like that you aren’t just doing Flex in perpetuity without a plan. I’m the same way and have an end date in mind for when I plan to shut it down and no longer need to do it for additional income. Although Flex has been around since 2015, times are rapidly changing and who knows when Amazon will abruptly change the program or disband it. So it’s smart to strike while the iron is hot. 👏
I just payed off my lexus of crypto this year, and it feels sooooooooo amazing not having a car payment, topping off my 401k is my next goal. Love the vids keep it up!
I thought your comments about making early payments were funny. When my AMG lease is over, I'm going to get a Tesla M3P. The last time I checked the incentives, they offered 1% APR with $0 down, if you purchase FSD (I will). I'm the early payment type of person, but at that rate, I will have to take the longest term I can get, and I will not make a single early payment. That is basically free money and I can earn more in interest by keeping that money in my savings.
I 100% think that Amazon flex is a BAD idea. The amount of miles you put on the car, it’s worthless. You can buy a 2019 Tesla model 3 long range AWD for about $22,000. And you’re at almost 150,000 miles. Keep your current car, and just chill. Don’t finance a new one. Having no car note is a BLESSING.
Actually it does make a difference to make multiple smaller early payments instead of larger slightly later payments. Interest is calculated daily even though it is applied monthly.
Try static hanging to build arm strength, then once you can hang for a while try pull ups and chin ups. That'll help you build musculature. Try a video on static hanging exercises. 💪🏽
Meal prep some salads with walmart rotisserie chicken, boiled eggs etc. My meal prep is like $3 a salad and very filling. 1 chicken is enough for 5 salads! I recommend making your own pickled onions. V good
It is SUCH a nice feeling having a paid off car. I’ve wanted a M3P for years and almost bought the highland refresh for my birthday, but the paid off civic (at over 200K miles) still works just fine. PS, you may be a skinny little twink, but 20 days of McDs still isn’t good for your insides, eat a salad once in a while handsome! 😁😘
You mentioned your I.Q. being 100, and I got a sense that you were implying your I.Q. was higher than average, but 100 is average. Genius begins at 140. You seem above average to me.
IMO you should also consider loan consolidation. Sometimes the interest rates are better than what you currently have. There are calculators for this online.
What's the wear on the car after all that driving? specifically the opening and closing your door all day again and again? any replacements or fixes you needed to get done?
i should probably do a whole separate vid on it, but there are almost no signs of mechanical wear which is pretty wild to me. main thing is suspension work - control arms and lateral links. aside from that, swapped the 12 volt and then change the tires every so often. that's pretty much it
Good for you.. the feeling of being debt free is such a stress relief. sounds like you have a variation of the Ramsey method; the basics are good habits. consider the feeling of having your cars paid off and getting ahead on a property deposit or (future) mortgage payments, or : getting your retirement investments started and increased early. Hope your new normal of non-debt or debt avoidant is a recognition of freedom..
I do doordash when I’m bored. It’s not good money, but I like driving and it’s mindless and can do it whenever. Wish I could do flex or Uber but I drive a miata
In my coutry mcdonals is not cheap at all and is advertised as a “treat”. The billboards say “Treat yourself, you deserve a break”. And they desperately try to market the food as healthy
great video, could you talk about the expenses owning your Tesla such as cost to charge, cost of insurance, have you had to replace the tires yet and how long does it take to charge it? I also have rented rooms out to people who refused to pay but want to live for free and i had to clean up after them, i try to be nice but i get ripped off with way higher utility bills just my electric went up over 250 higher each month than when i was by myself.
thanks! i'll do a full breakdown since people have been asking. in short, a decent amount of front suspension work. past that, just small stuff like wipers and tires
Curious to know if reptiles were your highest paying gig. At the end did you see yourself as rescuing or was it *mostly* just like a warehouse for profit? (Not judging BC I get it) But in the end was the burn out worth it? Did the workload ruin your relationships with coworkers and partners or was there never a stable ground for those relationships to stand on? I'd love an updated video on why, when, and who helped you liquidate your reptile rehoming business, a breakdown of costs and cons and pros would be cool.
I watch you way more now than I did at your peak. I can really see your channel gaining a lot of popularity again man

That is basically free money and I can earn more in interest by keeping that money in my savings.
yeah the incentives recently have been insane. id say it's a great time to buy
At least you work on your own keep grinding you are definitely going to be financially successful with your great work ethic❤
same feeling as you, same age. 2022 model 3. 43k miles. still feel the same excitement!
18:14 Congratulations Alex on coming out 🎉 we now expect you to publish videos of what your boyfriend looks like
Still love looking at my model 3. It was such a leap from my 2004 Camry that poured water on me when I brake on rainy day
I 100% think that Amazon flex is a BAD idea. The amount of miles you put on the car, it’s worthless. You can buy a 2019 Tesla model 3 long range AWD for about $22,000. And you’re at almost 150,000 miles. Keep your current car, and just chill. Don’t finance a new one. Having no car note is a BLESSING.
the mileage deduction is great though, def makes it worth it for me at least
Actually it does make a difference to make multiple smaller early payments instead of larger slightly later payments. Interest is calculated daily even though it is applied monthly.
Try static hanging to build arm strength, then once you can hang for a while try pull ups and chin ups. That'll help you build musculature. Try a video on static hanging exercises. 💪🏽
He’s already got a few videos about his rock climbing and other athletic interests.
@@laurajm3694Yea, in another video he said he wanted to gain more musculature. So I am making a suggestion.
Awesome video as always, GoFlexin
Meal prep some salads with walmart rotisserie chicken, boiled eggs etc. My meal prep is like $3 a salad and very filling. 1 chicken is enough for 5 salads! I recommend making your own pickled onions. V good
It is SUCH a nice feeling having a paid off car. I’ve wanted a M3P for years and almost bought the highland refresh for my birthday, but the paid off civic (at over 200K miles) still works just fine. PS, you may be a skinny little twink, but 20 days of McDs still isn’t good for your insides, eat a salad once in a while handsome! 😁😘
There is no feeling like working for something you now own, paying off a car is such a flex 😅
You mentioned your I.Q. being 100, and I got a sense that you were implying your I.Q. was higher than average, but 100 is average. Genius begins at 140. You seem above average to me.
I totally relate to your mind set with loving my tesla M3. i am not looking forward to any other car. I'm happy and good with my purchase
I'm not the only one with nicotine level addiction to paying my bills early lol
IMO you should also consider loan consolidation. Sometimes the interest rates are better than what you currently have. There are calculators for this online.
luckily all my rates are good :) basically the last thing i need to pay off now is my credit card, but it's 0apr til june!
Yeah, gonna need to see that repair breakdown video soon.
Congratulations on the car! 🎉
we’re eating good with this 30min video
My truck has 12k left and I can't wait till it's all paid off so there's definitely something satisfying seeing your debts paid off
29:44 I just beat breast cancer and I’m only 31. Definitely don’t recommend the cancer, very unfun 😅
NICE. and noted.
What's the wear on the car after all that driving? specifically the opening and closing your door all day again and again? any replacements or fixes you needed to get done?
i should probably do a whole separate vid on it, but there are almost no signs of mechanical wear which is pretty wild to me. main thing is suspension work - control arms and lateral links. aside from that, swapped the 12 volt and then change the tires every so often. that's pretty much it
@@GoHerping Sweet, thanks. I signed up for Flex, but it doesn't seem like there's a demand for drivers in my zip code right now.
Nice video bro
I do doordash when I’m bored. It’s not good money, but I like driving and it’s mindless and can do it whenever. Wish I could do flex or Uber but I drive a miata
You have my respect
Congrats 🎊
ty!
I feel the same way when I bought / leased my Tesla I loved it soo much that I started driving Uber Just to spend more time in it
Sounds like he be side hustling selling footie pics 😂😂
Awesome video! Just curious what your maintenance has looked like with your Tesla, getting to 150k miles!
thanks! i'll do a full breakdown since people have been asking. in short, a decent amount of front suspension work. past that, just small stuff like wipers and tires
leaving packages outside the building is crazy ngl.
I just found this channel tonight and wow what a fucking wild rollercoaster ride
:D hope you enjoy lolol
The sudden lumber craving is so real
Applied for Amazon Flex in the Greensboro area, I've been on the waitlist for almost an entire year.
sounds about right :/
Halloween decorations are far better than xmas ones.
congrats on paying it off!
ty!
23:27 lmaooooooo
This video helped me brainstorm
I enjoy borrowing money too. I'm deep into the six digits lol.
