@@nickname7808 Horseshit. There are stage 2 Golf R's doing 420hp hitting over 200.000 kms without problems. They don't create a car and charge that much for it to break down at 100k km. They've been creating cars for over 100 years. If you service it often enough, and keep it stock in case of the A45s, you'll be fine.
@Spongebob Schwanzkopf a45s is a much faster car than thd rs3😂 technology in it is much better, rs3 doesn't stand a chance and it only sounds bad as car manufacturers have had to make them quieter like that to stick to eu laws.

Why? I'd go for the RS4, the difference is so small it's irrelevant, it's still an estate and therefore practical since that's why people would consider the RS4 to begin with

What driving? Going in a straight line. The rs4 is around 1800kg while the A45 is 1500kg with similar power. The race goes as expected...

The Merc's 4 wheel system looses less power to the wheels than what the AUDI does. AUDI gets of the line just as good, but then looses out on top end. AUDI needs more power to cover come the drive train loss. IMO
Stop the excuses lol. The Merc is a FWD based AWD so the RS4 literally has a launch advantage

@@cartik4296 stop giving the same excuse everywhere lol. The RS4 is a segment higher and is supposed to be even faster, like a RS6 is faster than a RS5. These are top of the line performance models, not a regular version.
Audi definitely got better launch system, but that m139 just insane as the transmission for the new a45s just brilliant. Moreover it also has weight advantage

Power to weight of the Audi is very slightly higher and it has a lot more torque. Aero doesn’t really do a lot at low speed , and doubt whether there’s a huge amount of difference between the two.

That's not quite the case. 4 pots have always been potent
The most powerful F1 engine EVER built - was a turbo 4 by BMW called Megatron.
And back in the 80s Sierra cosworths for example were hell of trouble for any sports car, you'd have to go deep into super car territory to shake one off.

The a45s is nuts and literally the cream of the cream of hot hatches right now but come on the A45s was already going to win with the RS4 being like 200lbs heavier with no extra power to support the extra weight. I think you should have Done the new RS6 vs the A45s it would have been an interesting one as it has the power to support the weight.

I'm not surprised by this outcome, 23bhp difference between these cars and of course weight. You also cannot beat a decent dual clutch gearbox.

Very interesting this Archie, didn’t expect it. Just had a look at the mass, the RS4 is only 100kg heavier with 30bhp more and quite a bit more torque. I expected the RS4 to pip it as have heard the Merc ‘boxes aren’t the quickest gear change .... seems that is not the case any more! Would have been nice to see 1 more race locked in gear to take out the difference in response of the gearboxes!

The a45s is 200KG lighter than the RS4. That’s a huge amount of extra mass to move. The RS4 is also about as aerodynamic as a garden shed.

P:W negligible. Aero - A45. A45 also largely 2 wheel drive when hooked up so actual power transferred to the road will be higher.
Power to weight ratio - that RS4 is a lot heavier without the proportionate increase in power, it had no chance

What are the stats? Ones I found put the Audi 100kg heavier giving it 2bhp/tonne extra. Audi has way more torque which you would have thought would play a factor too.

Well M3 is RWD and doesn't have launch control. A45 will definately win the drag but M3 definately win the rolling start as it always do.

Rs4’s are pretty slow to be honest. When my rs3 was stage 1 I wiped the floor with one , it was like he wasn’t even trying but inside he was crying 😢

Yes i often feel the ability to perform in a drag race on a race track is the first thing i need when looking for a new motor.
