For what you’re getting I think it’s actually a good deal. Removable, rechargeable battery, & the ability to use the controller with a monitor without a battery are very nice features. SteamOS on this would be sweet. Thank you
@@brandonsummers6360 I can do this with Quest 3 to be honest. It's the most advanced AR/VR headset at it's price point, especially with the new Quest 3s at $299, but this product is legendary, because no other pc exist in the form of a controller. My only concern is if controller buttons get stuck or get stick drift. I'm scared to buy it so i'm sticking with Quest 3 this Christmas season
They now have an option where you can select the controller compute unit only which is great, so you can connect another AR glasses, USB-C portable monitor, and external monitor which is awesome!
The removable battery is such a cool feature. It reminds me of my old psp where id have 2 batterys for long trips so i could wuick swap out when the first one died and double my battery life.
Really cool concept. It would be way better if it had some kind of wireless hdmi dongle. The glasses could use a redesign so they don’t look so goofy too.
Imagine playing all your AAA titles at high res and settings streamed wirelessly to your next-gen super light Valve HMD.... running Steam OS with suspend resume. I think this is what Valve is preparing. It won't just be a VR device, it'll be a console that streams to your Deck in 800p, or streams foveated footage to a light and compact HMD because processing is offloaded to the console. It'll be rad.
I’ve already pledged to get the 32gb ram and 1tb ssd and a few extra batteries 😂🤘🏼 can’t wait til they ship and also I asked them if there was any other way to charge the batteries besides in the pc/controller they said not yet but they are working on some type of charger so maybe soon 🤘🏼 great video man 🔥
@@digglerdiggler I may not but this seems like a really neat option for those who already have XR glasses and not a PC handheld. It’s even more portable.
With the current kickstarter pricing you're basically getting the glasses for free for 869$, if the retail msrp is true it's gonna be 1700$, by then if they were to sell the handheld standalone it woulf still be around roughly that same 800-900$. Tldr, even if you only want the standalone device, you should consider taking advantage of the campaign price right now.
This is super cool! My biggest concern tho would be that AR typically needs pretty high res, and handhelds really shine around 720-800p on low settings. A bigger screen near your eyes is gonna make that way more noticeable 🤔
Looks cool. I wish they'd separate it out as just a very tiny screenless unit. I'd worry the controller parts degrade and you'd end up getting another controller anyway. Also not as heavy. Also good if you're a pure KBM gamer. But I like it.
I literally play my rog ally like this with my XReal glasses and it's bliss, as you say. I was interested in this but I don't see an option to buy it without the glasses.
I think that gyroscope might be what that switch on top of the controller is for. Like, flick the switch to use the gyroscope in fps games instead of the right joystick. Could be cool.
This is cool. I thought it would be neat if valve deckard was like this. You can use it for vr or have like a passthrough and play mobile games on it like a deck.
Everything is so awesome....until the non-removable cable on the glasses. Damn. If they could make it so you can replace the usb cable...it'd be perfect. No worrying about trashing working parts just cause a cable broke.
Im super curious. I always wanted VR headsets and these type of glasses but as someone who needs glasses to see, do I need a specialised lens to enjoy these? I tried watching 3D movie many many moons ago and lets just say, I spent the entirety of the movie fiddling with the glasses.
You can buy the controller PC without the glasses. If you have AR glasses, then getting the PC without the screen gives you a smaller travel footprint. Price wise, trading the screen gets you an extra 8 to 16GB of RAM. I went with the 32GB model, no glasses; which is basically the price of an Ally X or Legion Go. So, I should be able to allocate 16GB to the GPU and 16GB to the system. This probably won't matter much at 1080P, but an 8GB/24GB GPU/CPU split is also a nice option. Finally, since this is just the 8840HS instead of the Z1 extreme, you will also be able to use standard AMD drivers on release day instead of waiting for Asus/Lenovo.

yeeee shit this is like some next level shit I dont think anyone even thought of but the applications are endless especially for the ar glasses
Could you put bazzite on it to run steam os?

I like how portable gaming devices are getting more love.
Great video as always brother
thumbnail: this is a gaming handheld
i'd say that's more of a faceheld
hahaha you’re not kidding
But you DO hold the controller in your hand
i bet you're fun at parties @@EastToWestTCG
bro you are literally my friend who started a youtube super friendly straight to the good stuff no bs ans super chill i subbed so fast
heck yeah dude we are friends! what’s up
I just ordered the Viture Pros, but really digging this package. Gaming on the go next level.
It is worth its very compact perfect for traveling it's all in one place the controller love tech

bought mine they ship on the 14th December early bird 32 gb ram is insane
Naturally awesomeness 👌
Crew!
Love the idea and love the standard size controller. I hope they see success so I can snag one used on ebay in a few years 😆
Please make a setup video ! I love the lamp on the tv and curious to see the whole setup 🔥
I love your style of reviews. You're going places kid, keep it up. 👍
I just like it for the fact that it’s light to use. I would prefer just the glasses screen only. And the price is steep.
Woahhh, this looks sick! So futuristic!

One one fear is giving it someone who has gamer rage , and is used to destroying controls!!! But i think thisnis the future of gaming!!!
Love this bruh.
I really like your videos man, you're super chill lol keep up the awesome work brother 🙏🏼💪🏼
Ain’t gonna lie, if I had the money, I would 100% choose this over any other PC handhelds. Think it’s awesome!

Finally someone is giving this lil thingy attention
Is there no way to just buy the controller / PC without the glasses? I already have some Viture PRO XR glasses that I use with my Ally X.
Then I'd say you don't need it. Have a similar setup with steam deck + nreal air.
Ultimately your combo is more versatile.

Kickstarter says handheld alone is currently $539
@@matrihamiltonjr2230 thanks for checking and lmk! This was not an option at all yesterday so they must have just added it. Not a bad price tbh!
The French game is called Children of Light. I was playing it on Android until my Character got stuck in the cloud's barrier wall
This is awesome!
swappable battery should be a thing again
Why do I feel like technology is evolving so fast
because it is, waaaaay too fast for our tiny brain
The more technology evolves, the faster it will evolve.

Isn't that what a mini pc is?
@coltranewashere like that but smaller with a battery. But yeah been tempted to just mini pc and travel monitor.
Would be nice if they have a USB-C port at the bottom for a dock when using it as, well, other than a controller.
I literally play my rog ally like this with my XReal glasses and it's bliss, as you say.
I was interested in this but I don't see an option to buy it without the glasses.
we need to normalize a stander key setup for Keyboard and Remotes
Hey brother, please may you do a video on the Ally Z1 (non extreme)
It’s kinda weird how good the graphics are when the controller itself is so small. Makes me wonder how much space is being wasted on other handhelds.
How was you able to get a review pair i would like to do the same
Look straight out of cyberppunk. awesome concept.

Only 1080p on a monitor? I'm surprised it doesn't output to a higher resolution.
Pretty cool 😎
i would love if it had linux on it
I am using Rog Ally X and Xreal Air 2. Can I use the Xreal glasses on this Tecno product?

Why wouldn't anyone just plug AR glasses into a ROG Ally though
well youd have to get both the rog ally and ar glasses. with this it comes in a little package

I have XrealAir AR. It’s pretty neat, however I don’t use it much as I hope it would. I hope these are better
cana i use a keyboard and a mouse for this ?
Anyone know what that "some French game" was? Looks fun
Looks like Sky: Children of the Light
If it had the steam decks control layout I would probably try this out. But in its current state, its not worth it.
Are Those big areas on the controller touch pads?....
Does it do 3d? Can it do an external graphics card?
Can you switch battery mid gaming? Would be super cool to buy multiple batteries for long sessions
maybe this could replace my old ps3 and be used for my fpv drone?
Can you plug the glasses into a legion go or ally device ?
Also I see that you can just buy the glasses. Could you plug the glasses into an rog ally x?
Wait looks like you can... Wonder if gyro would still work
does it ship instant on kickstarter or do u have to wait till dec
What egpu dock are you using?
Since I already have a Viture Pro set of AR glasses, would it be possible to just buy the controller and use the Viture with it?
fire
You look like Wyatt from ozark 😅
Can you name the controller “tubby”
They need to sell the controller by itself.
Rather have better glasses like the Virtue Pro XR vs being forced to buy inferior glasses.
They now have the option to buy the controller compute unit only which is awesome and the price is solid!
This is prob great for people who have neck pain or certain disabilities
The unfortunate part is that this is a cool idea. But 780m will be outdated very soon. I hope they update this to the AI HX 370 with the 890m.
800 bones tho
For anyone who's wondering, the second game is called Sky: Children of the Light.
Bet
Pee bonus 😂
do you mew or you just have a natural defined jaw line
Its just the skull form that runs in the famiily haha

nah this thing for sure is heavy I dont like this. rather stick with my rog ally...
