The dude who tried to crawl in the window was James Van Der Beek, the actor who played Dawson in "Dawson's Creek" a popular teen melodrama series from the late 90's-2000's. That was the ear worm theme playing in the background. One of the creators of that show, Kevin WIlliamson wrote half of the Screams including the first two. So that cameo is pretty on point. Also, Carmen Electra was involved with both Prince and NBA star Dennis Rodman at different points. Prince had an objectively glam or effeminate fashion sense while Rodman literally crossdressed and wore lipstick.
@jp3813 Kevin Williamson was low-key killing the horror genre in the 90s, but I feel like nobody ever talks about him when it comes to horror goats. He also did The Falculty and I believe Urban Legends as well. I think he wrote for some other TV shows as well...
Another reference worth mentioning is during the time this movie was released Carmen Electra was dating Dennis Rodman but she also had a brief relationship with Prince in the past. So when the killer says to her "you mean the one that wears makeup and dresses like a woman?" she thinks hes talking about Dennis Rodman. And her saying "Thats not my boyfriend i f**ked him a couple times but that's it" is just her explaining her past relationship with Prince. lol
Perfect explanation of this! When she said “No” it wasn’t Prince I headed to the comment section to explain the scene, but you already beat me to it! 👍
What I really respect about this movie now is how it holds up as a style parody. If you’ve come across one slasher, no matter how generic, you can still look at this and laugh, even if you don’t get direct references

For example: 1) On the brick wall when Cindy punches Gale it says "Doofy" on the wall 2) the fact that the killer chose not to kill Gale (the woman Doofy is sleeping with) when he got frustrated while killing the other girl and then killing the camera man that she didn't care for 3) when the killer calls Cindy at Buffy's house and the mom goes to get Doofy the killer on the phone starts freaking out and hurrying to rush off the phone 4) In that same scene you can see how well-endowed Doofy is so later during Ray's death you see he is killed with a penis that is long enough to pass through the hole in the wall and all the way across a grown man's head. I quote this movie regularly, especially the "OMG we hit a boot!" "Where's the foot?!" line. My friend's male dog used to hump the other boy dogs and we used to say "Take it Brandon!" referencing Ray when he was with Brenda in his bedroom. Mr Squiggy is off a character he played on Lavern and Shirly and sometimes Happy Days. In Scream, Henry Winkler played the principle who was also in Happy Days.
Laverne & Shirley was a spin-off from Happy Days. Squiggy's friend, Lenny, was played by Michael McKean, from Spinal Tap and all the other Chris Guest movies.
This initial era of satire / parody movies was so good. And then it went downhill. Bur everytime i rewatch this movie im reminded of how young i was when i first saw it. I was TOO young for this humor. Also Ana Faris is also amazing at House Bunny.
This movie was so funny. I believe I was in high school when this came out. I remember this was the first time I saw Anna Farris in anything, and I had a huge crush on her. Plus, she was really good in this. Her comedic delivery is spot on. I loved her in The House Bunny, too.
Not Another Teenage Movie, Loaded Weapon and Undercover Brother are a few great Genre spoofing movies with laughs as well. Worth it ! Either way, ✌️ Everyone!

I don't remember which scene you asked about but the second most referenced movie story wise was "i know what you did last summer" (the car accident or incident rather) but they replaced summer with Halloween. The principal, Squiggy, was a character on Laverne and Shirley, an old tv show and a spinoff of Happy Days . It's a parody of Scream because the principal was played by Henry Winkler who was also Fonzie on Happy Days.
10:09 Principal Squigy played Squigy in Laverne & Shirley. Squigy and his best friend Lenny along with the girls worked at Shotz Brewery together. it was a 70's comedy spinoff from Happy Days. the principal in Scream was played by Henry Winkler. he played Fonzie on Happy Days. that's how the two movies connected the two principals.
“Mr. Squiggy” was referencing the actor playing Principal Squigman. He played “Squiggy” on the show “LaVerne & Shirley.” If you recall the original “Scream,” Henry Winkler (Fonzie from Happy Days) played the Principal in that movie.
I went to watch that one in theater with friends. In those years cell phones were becoming mainstream, along with a new kind of nuisance. I remember when the noisy girl in the movie gets caesared by the rest of the patrons, a group of slightly disruptive people behind us suddenly fell silent as others in the hall (including the friend next to me) intently clapped. Priceless!

So, Carmen Electra is the woman at the start of the movie. She was in Playboy, but was also on TV. Dawson's Creek was the TV show you were trying to remember in which the main character would climb into another character's window all the time. And, I Know What You Did Last Summer is all about kids killing some dude on the road, hiding the body and then bad things happen with a guy killing people with a big hook.

Hey, George and Simone, PLEASE get to Scary Movie 3 as SOON as possible. It's my favorite Scary Movie in the series, and one of the funniest movies I have ever seen!
The garage scene is a reference to Scream. Shannon's death is a reference to Sarah Michelle Gellar's character in I Know What You Did Last Summer, hence why her character name is Buffy.
And "Buffy" is because in the movie "I know what you did last summer" one of the Actresses is Sarah Michelle Geller, who played Buffy the Vampire Slayer
I remember people in school quoting this movie far too much. You'd be having a conversation with a friend and you'd think it was a serious talk about their situation and then they'd go "does this shirt make me look gay?" it got old fast. I still absolutely love this movie, and watching it with the uninitiated, particularly people too young to have experienced the wild days of the 90's to 00's, they almost always get super shocked at how the humour was back in the day.
4:35 - "The song is from an old TV show..." - Dawson's Creek, starring James Van Der Beek as Dawson Leery. 10:02 - "Mr. Squiggy. Along with Michael McKean, playing a character named Lenny, they were "Lenny & Squiggy". 17:54 - Blair Witch reference. I can't believe you didn't include the vacuum cleaner joke. :)

If Shaun Of The Dead & Hot Fuzz count as spoofs then they take it
Airplane: "Am I a joke to you?"
I think Hott fuzz counts as its own movie but i stand corrected on Airplane😂
18:27 Actually Sega did make urinal games that were in a few places around Tokyo. They were called Toylets.
This film was directed by Keenan Ivory Wayans, whose relatives Shawn and Marlon were also in the movie. Keenan was the creator of the show In Living Colour (which made Jim Carrey a star)
Those are 2 of Keenan's brothers. Including cousins there are around 20 Wayans in showbiz/comedy.
These 2 had a tv show "the Wayans brothers".
Simone and George should check out Keenan's first big spoof movie I'm Gunna Git You Sucka.
Might be the greatest thumbnail ever 😂
One of the best parodies films ever made, cool reaction as always Simone & George, you both take care and have a nice day
Can't wait for Scary Movie 2, it somehow got better the second time around. Seen these movies since I was way to young to be watching and I'm still laughing two decades later
The Principal, Mr. "Squiggy" was a character on the TV Show Lavern & Shirly and they worked at "Shotz Beer". Simone should have also counted her "What the Hell"
One very quick referrence with the close up filming into the nose @ 17:50 was from the movie: "The Blair Witch project"
😂 my husband and i constantly quote “oh my god, we hit a boot! where’s the foot?!” and the other day, we stopped at a comic book store and in the parking lot was a boot and i immediately quoted this scene, lol
Squiggy, from Laverne and Shirley, is the principal because Henry Winkler, the Fonz, was the principal in Scream
I remember seeing this in a packed theater the week it came out. Still one of the best theater experiences that I've had. The entire audience was roaring with laughter throughout. I'm glad you guys found it hilarious too.
The scene where Gail is in the woods with her nose running is reference to the Blair witch project.
I don't remember which scene you asked about but the second most referenced movie story wise was "i know what you did last summer" (the car accident or incident rather) but they replaced summer with Halloween. It follows a similar path as Scream. If I'm not mistaken they even made fun of the title of the sequel "i Still know what you did last Halloween"
Love the omg counter, i would've counted the times she said "Jesus" too, its like mixing scream and i know what you did longest movie name ever
squiggy is from a tv show from the 70’s. back in the 90’s and early 2000’s, we used to know all the little cameos lol
Simone's favorite joke was the "omg we hit a boot!" but the best part is the immediate follow up of "WHERE'S THE FOOT?!" 😂
"Omg we hit a boot!"
"WHERE'S THE FOOT?!"
Great reaction CineBinge! In the scene where Brenda got stabbed in the movie theater is a reference to Scream 2! The joke reference of Carmen Electra and Prince was due to them dating at one point! Anyway, hopefully, in the near future you guys will check out Scary Movie 2! A great sequel to Scary Movie in my opinion. Continue the great content CineBinge!
Carmen Electra was dating Dennis Rodman at the time. He was also experimenting with cross dressing.
The principal, Squiggy, was a character on Laverne and Shirley, an old tv show and a spinoff of Happy Days . It's a parody of Scream because the principal was played by Henry Winkler who was also Fonzie on Happy Days.
I knew George would love it and I loved getting all those "Oh my god"s from the adorable Simone during the movie.
The OMG meter got quite a workout. 😅 Great reaction guys. You might need to do the whole series now.
Yes, this was filmed in and around Vancouver, Richmond and Langley.
OMG! Love that reaction! New record for Simone I believe (Way to go!!). XOXO
Priceless!
0:36 Scary Movie 2's original tagline was "We lied." xD
Damn, you should have done I Know What You Did Last Summer and Scream 2 before this.
15:03 Yep. You guys might be a bit too young, but the “WAZZZUUUUP!?” bit was a series of really popular Budweiser commercials around the time this movie came out
Maybe there should be a "I see" counter on George's side, and maybe a predicting what's about to happen before it happens counter.😂
Majority of Movie is Scream
However they also worked in a few others
6:38 I Know What you did Last Summer
17:52 The Blair Witch Project
20:40 The Sixth Sense
23:10 The Matrix
23:45 The Usual Suspects
So, Carmen Electra is the woman at the start of the movie. She was in Playboy, but was also on TV. Dawson's Creek was the TV show you were trying to remember in which the main character would climb into another character's window all the time. And, I Know What You Did Last Summer is all about kids killing some dude on the road, hiding the body and then bad things happen with a guy killing people with a big hook.
And Carmen Electra had famously dated Prince before this movie. Hence Steve being Prince
David Landers aka "Squiggy" from the 1970s hit TV show Laverne & Shirley. This has tons of GenX references. They are spoofing Most of the horror movies.
18:28 Haven't seen this movie in yonks and I totally forgot about that bit! I completely agree with George though! It would make trips to the toilet so much more fun! 😂
And to be fair, Brenda's death scene... Obviously you wouldn't do it but come on, surely we've all had similar thoughts like that with annoying people in cinemas who won't shut up, right? I can't be the only one surely! 👀
"Yonks"! I got that from my Aussie best friend; one of my faves. And I love the theatre scene, too. Brenda is always hilarious.
@@isoldejaneholland8370 Here was me thinking the word 'Yonk's was just a British thing! 😂
Although yes I agree! I think she's funnier in the sequels mind you! Especially in 3 & 4!
@@HammerHeart3229
Yes! "Cindy! The TV is leaking." 😄
4:26 James Van Der Beek from Dawson's Creek. He also played himself in the sitcom Don't Trust the B in Apt. 23.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!! i dont know why, i but i thought you had done this?! Please do at least 2 and 3 as well!
The man being whipped on the ship is director of this film, Keenan Ivory Wayans, brother of Shawn & Marlon who play Ray & Shorty.
Do number 2! Do number 2!
Wait...
I think for Scary Movie 2 you will need to watch a few more films that are no longer that popular/mainstream. It is also quite forgettable, but then the 3rd movie is really good.
Hey, George and Simone, PLEASE get to Scary Movie 3 as SOON as possible. It's my favorite Scary Movie in the series, and one of the funniest movies I have ever seen!
Should've definitely watched Scream 2 before this reaction.
The girl at the beginning was Carmen Electra, and yes, she's been in Playboy :)
What happened to Mrs. Man?
The garage scene is a reference to Scream. Shannon's death is a reference to Sarah Michelle Gellar's character in I Know What You Did Last Summer, hence why her character name is Buffy.
George’s laughter should be bottled and sold
As to Mr. Squiggy - there were two characters in the Laverne and Shirley Show in the ‘70s named Lenny and Squiggy.
You guys need to be careful how hot you make your thumbnails. I'm all hot and bothered. Oh, and Simone looks great too.
Squiggy. OK, what is this referencing?" - The actor playing the principal, David Lander, is most famous for playing a recurring character named Squiggy on the show "Laverne and Shirley", which was a spinoff from Ron Howard's show, "Happy Days".. Along with Michael McKean, playing a character named Lenny, they were "Lenny & Squiggy".
17:54 - Blair Witch reference.
I can't believe you didn't include the vacuum cleaner joke. :)
That actor who played Principal Squiggy played the character Squiggy in Lavern and Shirley
Did they see the post post credit scene with Doofy?? Also, just so many laughs in this movie. Classic
Simone's reaction to the "explosion" all over the ceiling was priceless!
David L Lander played Principal Squiggy and his biggest roles were one of the weasels in Roger Rabbit and a character named Squiggy in the 70s sitcom Laverne and Shirley. One of the plaques in his office was also a nod to that show.
Y’all should watch Observe and Report, Simone would love it
