For the scene with Michael Cera and Rihanna, Cera asked if he could actually slap her butt, and she said only if he could actually slap his face. So he did, and then she did and that ended up being the take that they used
Fun Fact: Channing Tatum was a late addition! Seth Rogen emailed many actors who declined and just before they cut the scene Jonah Hill emailed Channing Tatum since they were close due to 21 Jump Street. He responded pretty fast and they shot it soon after. Also he was super into the idea and even had suggestions that they kept in!
Where did you get that fact? I've heard Seth Rogen tell that story differently, he said they couldn't find someone and then eventually Jonah Hill was like "I bet Channing would do it.", they'd become friends through Jump Street. Jonah asked and he was down. You are right that he had some ideas too lol
Probably the best apocalyptic comedy, next to Dogma. Dogma may have a smaller cast, but it is just as stacked. Alan Rickman, Chris Rock, Salma Hayek, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and George Carlin.
Dogma is one of my favorite movies. It's amazing. Even used it in school. I only wish they had kept in Azrael's description of hell in the diner. In content and delivery it's amazing! But you can see it if you search for "evil is an abstract".
From what I read, there was a lot of truth regarding the tension between Seth and Jay’s actual friendship that was reflected in this film. Also, they said that Danny McBride was constantly making everyone laugh on the set day in and day out.
@@Justafox305 Well, Seth hates James now. Times Up seemed to catch up to Franco. Rogen was accused of knowing about it so he made statements to distance himself from Franco.
SO glad to see a reaction channel finally checking this one out. I can't believe how many of this era's A-list actors played along with this twisted-ass premise. One fantastic little hidden gem of a movie, totally underrated.
I remember being so excited for this movie as someone who loved Superbad + pineapple express. Never been so hyped for a comedy before, and it actually delivered. Dying laughing watching this in theatres
17:41 here is the greatest moment in cinema history. Seth was having hard time trying not to laugh through this. I and lots of people were laughing HARD in theater.
Fun fact: Rihanna slapping Michael Cera at the beginning was a real slap lol. Seth Rogen said she slapped him so hard he had to go lay down in his trailer. 😂
This is one of those films that is designed to be experienced in a theater full of people. It's still funny watching it like this, but the moment that Channing Tatum is revealed, the whole theater erupted in laughter. they had the volume turned up pretty loud to try and let people hear the dialog over the constant laughter.
I watched this film a load of times back when it was released. Watching this reaction and seeing your laughter made me realise how fun and awesome this movie really is. Sometimes we don't need deep, meaningful stuff; we just want silly fun! Thanks, guys!
17:48 oh man. I watched this movie in theaters and this scene had me dying so much I was trying not to laugh. I was like “No don’t do it. You’re an adult. It’s cum it’s no big deal. You’re not a kid. Don’t do it.” And I couldn’t hold in my laugh longer and just bursted out
Great reaction CineBinge! This is a classic comedy film! So funny! Especially when James Franco and Danny McBride, have that dialog about the magazine Danny ruined! Hilarious! 😂😂😂😂😂
I think Michael Cera is my favourite character in this. Three of my top five scenes in this movie are Cera's: the booty slap, "does this smell like cocaine to you", and the bathroom juicebox.
I love this movie. I was made to attend "Revelations Camp" as a kid where they send you to church and scare you with their version of the second coming. Like fire and brimstone and demons. We were 10 years old and that leaves a mark. So it was nice to have some fun with it. I loved Danny McBride's character because it was basically his Kenny Powers character.
This was soo much fun when it came out. Just so over the top and with a loaded cast playing themselves it was just kind of refreshing to see this in theaters at the time. Something wild that didn’t take itself too seriously.
When Channing Tatum shows up is easily the best part of a hilarious comedy. So much great self-parody from the talent involved. For another apocalypse comedy with Craig Robinson - Rapture Palooza (with Anna Kendrick 😉)
Very unique premise for a crude comedic entry. Really liked this. Needs more reactions on the platform. IT’S MR VIDEO did a very enjoyable take as well.

"Its too late for you. You're already in the hole" made me literally roll on my bed laughing when I first watched this movie. What a fucking iconic film. Its infinitely quotable.
I read that they wanted Whitney Houston to appear in the movie but after hearing she had died, they used her song "I Will Always Love You" near the end of the movie as a tribute to her.
I had the luxury of watching this in a theater with my friends when we were 14, don't know how we got in to this R-Rated movie. Luckily, we were the only ones there on opening night. (We live in a small border town in Canada.) We were very loud to say the least. Love this movie. When I was in high school, my friends and I played a D&D game where we essentially played versions of ourselves during the zombie apocalypse.
