- It's arguably the most famous comic strip of all time given the CGI route. Does it manage to have the same charm?

The Peanuts Movie (known in some countries as Snoopy and Charlie Brown: A Peanuts Movie) is a 2015 American animated comedy film based on Charles M. Schulz's comic strip Peanuts, produced by Blue Sky Studios and distributed by 20th Century Fox. It is the fifth full-length Peanuts film and the first in 35 years. The film was directed by Steve Martino from a screenplay by Cornelius Uliano and Craig and Bryan Schulz (Schulz's son and grandson, respectively). The film stars the voices of Noah Schnapp as Charlie Brown and, via archival recordings, Bill Melendez as Snoopy and Woodstock. The film sees Charlie Brown trying to improve his odds with the Little Red-Haired Girl, while Snoopy writes a book where he is a World War I Flying Ace trying to save his fellow pilot and love interest Fifi from the Red Baron and his flying circus.

Thoughts on The Peanuts Movie?
Blue Sky didn't make Lorax, Doug. They made Horton. Illumination made Lorax.
From what I heard, the ending was intended to be a sendoff to Shultz. The film was overseen by his children and I guess they wanted a happy ending in memory of their dad and the memories he left for them and everyone who loved the series. It might not be 100% in spirit to the tone, but I can understand why they did go that route.
I actually loved the ending. For a character who gets eternally dunked on, it was a great moment of catharsis for him, not only to talk to the little redhead girl, but for the little redhead girl to have actually seen everything he’s gone through and every good thing he’s done, and praise him for it. It was something we’d never gotten to see from Peanuts before, and it made it feel special.
I just loved how Charles Shultz’ children and grandchildren worked on this movie. They’re keeping their father and grandfather’s legacy alive ❤
The animation really doesn't enough credit. This movie came out three years before Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse.
Just a little correction, Lorax was actually Illumination, the Minions and Despicable Me guys.
I honestly really like the ending. It was nice to see Charlie Brown get a win after everything he’d been through
This movie is so good, one of Blue Sky's best in my opinion. My dad and I would watch the Peanuts specials all the time when I was a kid, and this movie near perfectly captures the artstyle, characters, and and tone of some of The Peanuts' best. The animation is beautiful, and the story is great too. And it avoids so many mistakes adaptations like this tend to fall into.
The members of the Academy of Motion Pictures of Arts and Sciences were a bunch of blockheads for not nominating this movie for Best Animated Film at the Oscars.
for a character who's entire life is pretty "bittersweet" i was honestly relieved that the ending was finally happy for charlie brown. he deserved it
The moment Charlie Brown FINALLY flys the kite the audience roared.
I love the peanuts Movie.
Honestly, I adored the ending to the movie. It shows that after all of his bad luck, such as sacrificing his magic act, tripping during his dance, falsely labelled as a genius and his book report ending up mangled, he received words of deep respect and encouragement. Seeing his smile after all his hardships was earned.
I’m glad this movie exists because Charlie Brown finally has someone tell him he’s not a failure and that he has value, which is a nice break from everyone like Lucy shitting on him for no reason. The guy can never catch a break and I’m glad here he does.
As a casual Peanuts fan, I watch this more often then I do the holiday specials.
The one thing I absolutely adore with The Peanuts Movie is the animation and art style. Everything feels like it's straight out of the comic strips and it's adorable! While I don't remember much about the movie because I've only watched it once when it came out, I always loved the animation. It's genuinely adorable :)
A faithful adaptation of the world’s most beloved comic strip.
I absolutely positively love this movie. I saw it in theaters and own the blu-ray. They perfectly captured the look and feel and did justice to these timeless characters! Good Job Blue Sky!!
Correction: Lorax wasn’t a Blue Sky film, it was an Illumination film.
