- This video quickly shows the main functions and features of the COBRA® PRO STYLE Quick Release Buckle.
The COBRA® Quick Release is a buckle that meets the highest safety requirements. When relieved the buckle can only be through pressing both clips at the same time. The locking mechanism makes one-sided locking of the buckle nearly impossible and is confirmed by a distinct ‘clicking’ sound.

You should design one for those who want to replace their plastic buckle with a Cobra...but don't want to cut the webbing or undo the stitching. Maybe one with removable steel pin's on each side ?....

This is a good idea. I’ve got a couple of 1.5” belts with different plastic strap buckles. I’d throw one of these on them in a second!

Thank you for your question. Because there are so many different ways to combine the COBRA®, the main and push parts ("male and female") are each marked separately.
The characteristics / sizes etc. of the respective part are described.
We offer a high in-house production depth of our COBRA® buckles. For example, the male and female buckle parts of the COBRA® are available as adjustable or non-adjustable versions in the sizes of 25, 33, 38, 45, 50 and 58mm. Thanks to the possibility to combine the parts with different size and adjustability options there is a COBRA® buckle for almost any application.
For your specific request, the code is generated as follows:
FC = Type of COBRA® --> "The Original"
WF = Body part & adjustability: female part of the COBRA® in version "non adjustable"
38 = size: for 38mm webbings
FC = Type of COBRA® --> "The Original"
MV = Body part & adjustability: male part of the COBRA® in version "adjustable"
38 = size: for 38mm webbings
XXX11 = country of origin & batch number

I have one of these on my JTAC K9 dog collar, realistically, how may times can I fasten and unfasten this buckle before it wears and needs replacing ?

Hi there! Thank you for your question. So first of all, the COBRA® PRO STYLE from the video is made out of following materials:
Body: aluminum
Rivets and adjuster bar: stainless
steel
Clips: brass
which means we would not recommend use in the marine sector with this type of buckle.
Especially for marine use, we would recommend the COBRA® NAUTIC - it is made of stainless steel and therefore more suitable for salt water.
However, it is IMPORTANT to follow the instructions for use (I will post the link in a moment) - this means cleaning and storing the COBRA® NAUTIC - especially in connection with seawater.

how do these compare to fidlock?
Hello from the beautiful Stubai valley. The comparison is actually relatively simple: the function and features, the breaking load values, the material, the applications, the producton ... pretty much everything is completely different. And a Fitlock buckle cannot be compared with a COBRA PRO STYLE Quick Release Buckle. But we don't want to badmouth the Fitlock buckle here. 😎Because this buckle also has its area of application. How thick of a strap could I put through this buckle, I'm wanting to use it on a leather tool belt
This depends on which buckle you use. They are available in many variants for differnet webbing thicknesses. The standard size should work with a leather belt though.
