Such a good little game. I remember playing when it came out and I was pleasantly surprised that a small game like this managed to tell a touching story in such unique style. Drawings are also soo cute, loved it!
my reading of the story: Tragedy falls in love with Comedy, who is very young. too young for people to tolerate their love. Comedy is taken away and they don't see each other for years. Tragedy can't imagine happy ends to stories because from their perspective, the world is antagonistic to love and is bent towards unmaking happy stories. the Maiden and the Overlord demonstrate Tragedy's perspective; the Maiden loves the Overlord, but they can't have a story together because the village will send someone to break them up, whatever force is necessary... Comedy returns. Tragedy doesn't recognize her at first because she's older now. but their love remains, and so they are able to find their good end together. they never should have been torn apart, but at least now they can be together without the world threatening them any more... this game is beautiful, and it's a particular kind of beauty i treasure 💕
@@Rainydayz6478 it's both, silly. lesbians may be persecuted still, but only when one of the women is actually a young girl do even "lgbt" spaces become cold and unwelcoming, the entire town rounding together and sanctioning infinite violence to force the lovers apart. i can't be convinced this isn't a story about a woman loving a girl, especially given who the game's creator is

You seem to like story driven games a lot, and so I very much suggest Life is Strange-its absolutely incredible in character design and actually got me to HATE the antagonist type guy
