    Great Job Phil! so helpful!! we had a 45 yr employee retire that ran this control T-2 No one else knows how to program it here. Your videos are keeping me from throwing this lathe out to the scrap yard. Thank you. We machine forging dies with very complex geometry. I would love to see a face groove program when you get a chance

  • @loukola5353
    @loukola5353 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The wear offset being added to the geometry in the position screen is not just a Mazak thing. I run a lathe with a Fanuc 21i-t control and it does the same. It's all about how the parameters were set in the machine.
    Good video Phil.

    loving your videos Phil! I thank you for doing this. I just purchased a used 1989 QT15n and reselected her from a guy that was going to part it out over a bad spindle drive. I had CNC Drive Drs talk to Ken if you ever have problems. My question for you is I am in the tooling up stage for this lathe and I am wondering what your go to tooling would be for this machine. I am a mold maker by trade and my expertise is on the milling side of things. If you could please point me in the right direction. Thanks Phil!

      Go to my threading video. For Acme thread, you would use either 1 or 2 starts and either 0 or 29 degrees for thread type depending how you want to feed in the tool. You will also need to increase the number of thread passes manually vs what the computer spits out.
