    I don't know why but I encountered this kind of Kharcho on several foreign food vlogs/blogs. What u showed in your video, that is called soup-kharcho (with meat, rice, and its soupy style). While the Megrelian kharcho is like dip sauce, made of nuts and meat totally, it is thick, sauce-like.
    Thank u for your video

      @@GringoNation Perfect Food Blog is wright , you should not eat Elarji with Soup Kharcho it is a big mistake ;) you should eat it with walnut thick Kharcho witch is totaly different dish they just got the same name but the first one is actualy a soup ( it goes with Shoti bread delisious) and the second one is a sauce like dish and Elarji is born to be eaten with it :) Satsivi and Baje these are cold versions of Kharcho ( not soup that is showed in this video ) they are also born to be eaten together with Elarji :) Hope this helps . • @ana610

    the "stomach'' of khinkali is my favorite part and actually you can eat it if you make it at home, because homeade khinali doesn't have such a big nub so it cooks all the way through. also we never eat it with sauce, but if you like it, you do you :D

    • @GringoNation
      @GringoNation  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's so interesting, Ana! I had no idea. I wonder why the restaurant ones are thicker. Maybe they want to fill up the customers faster? Or they don't have enough time to cook them thoroughly? I do think I had some homemade ones during my time in Georgia so maybe I should've eaten the stomach! hehe. As for the sauce, I'm glad I don't have to follow Georgian tradition on that because it is really good with adjika! :-) Thanks for watching, Ana.

    • @ana610
      @ana610 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@GringoNation @Gringo Nation In the restaurant they roll the dough bigger, and when they make the khinkali, too much dough bunches in the middle (and they leave it there). At home we roll it smaller so in the end there is less dough in the middle. Both versions are cooked for 5-7 minutes, so "stomach" of restaurant khinkali can't cook fully cause it's too thick. And they can't extend the cooking time because then the main part of khinkali will overcook. Another reason people don't eat it (even homemade ones), is because then it takes up less space in your stomach so you can eat more khinkali lol.
      P.S I must mention that you are the first foreigner I've seen, who pronounces Tbilisi correctly. Everyone else says "Tb-lisi" 😂

    Is Georgia a good place for vegetarians?

    • @GringoNation
      @GringoNation  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! Thanks for checking out the video. i think that even though Georgian cuisine is largely based on meat, there are lovely vegetarian dishes like the eggplant one you see in this video. Their most popular dish, the khachapuri is also vegetarian (carb bomb) and the mushroom khinkali is amazing too. :-)

      Hey Giorgi... I got a lot of comments talking about this. It seems I've committed a national sin! hahaha. I was just doing a little experimenting and I must admit... I liked it! Some people put pineapple on pizza, mate. It's a crazy world! haha. Thanks for watching.

      @@GringoNation Well, I think you and I can agree that all the people, who put pineapple on pizza, should be gathered at one place, put on the large ship without the captain and let go to the ocean 😀. Also, your friend in the video had some doubts about eating ghomi with lobio and let me assure you that it is perfectly normal to do that. Basically ghomi has a function of bread in Georgia, therefore technically speaking, you can eat with it anything you will eat with bread. Anyways, pleased that you enjoyed Georgian food and Georgia in General ❤️

    Adorei o pão georginano, que no caso, amo pão, que parece ser gostoso com esse molho apimentado na medida certa. Feijão como pouco, mas gosto. Batata, nossa, tem que ter, porque não vivo sem e o que seria bom comer pra saber se vai gostar, não sei, talvez. Carne de porco, eu como. Nossa, que banquete!!!
