I have the non-shallow version of this in my K5. I had the base system and it made a huge difference in the sound without having to give up any trunk space for my family hauler.

Thinking of adding a little extra to my 13' optima sxl. Comes with the upgraded infinity system so the sub/system itself is already amazing but I want to add a bit more ummmphhfff. Not sure if I could just piggy back off the stock sub/amp that sits right below the rear window and passenger quarter panel

I got mines in a maxima and it’s okay with Bose system. It does add a great deal of bases inside the car. I did sound proof my truck. After a year of use, it’s still runs good but I have just upgrade the full system to focal flax Evo 3 way front stage, dsp, epic center and Focal Flax Evo coaxial in the rear deck with two 1O flax subs. I would recommend the cerwin Vega for small bass upgrades to any factory radio.

It doesn't cut it with the flax evo setup? I've purchased on 3-way flax evo, will install it soon, but yeah wondered if my spare sub would hold up. I have the one in the video. Will try it out, cause I have a little car and really need this cargo space.

I used the adapter shown in the video and listed in the link above. My Rockford Fosgate amplifier would not turn on with the head unit. I had to remove and splice the amp's remote turn on wire (which is also blue) into the adaptor's dark blue wire (the one that connects to the dark green wire on the factory harness). I have a 2023 GR 86 premium which has the external amp like your limited BRZ, should be the same. I used the adapter you referenced from E bay. I used The JBL sound hub instead. Great step by step BTW.. Any time the signal wire is connected, my sub is powered on. Even if the ignition is completely off. If I disconnect it, the sub turns off. It seems like the harness adapter has me tapping in to a constant voltage source, not one that is only on with the radio. Idk why there would ever be power going anywhere with the ignition off. I’m baffled. Any suggestions. I was thrilled how great it made my system sound until I cut the ignition off, and the remote, and power lights stayed on.I had to just pull the adapter from my amp and plug the factory plug back in for now, as it will kill my battery..Appreciate any suggestions .. anyone here have a similar experience?

I would say it will not work with this adapter. You would need 4 audio inputs where this only has 2. You would most likely have to get those from the head unit directly. You would probably use the same adapter and just use 2. This is all speculation of course as I have not done that yet.
