    Installed the shallow version of this. Saved my trunk space and fills all the lows for my 2 seater sports car by sitting where the spare tire is. I love this thing! I was originally looking at the under the seat subs which just do not give enough bass. This sub is awesome!

      Tony Stark did you have any issues with it being too high up and interfering with the trunk mat? I want to put one in my accord but the spare is a temporary spare that seems to shallow for the jbl to fit without sticking up

    So why not a video of it in a car with a meter. ?

    • @MikhailFelton
      @MikhailFelton 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most likely about a 115db in a car.. thats what a powered car subwoofer box normally does.

    • @GanG914
      @GanG914 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@MikhailFelton A box is different story. This tiny plastic cabinet under the trunk floor will not produce 115db. 105db most likely.

    • @ericperry72
      @ericperry72 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GanG914 115db is possible, five star stereo just posted a video on JBL version with only 200 watss and a 11" sub and it metered at 110db. So 115db is possible given more power and more displacement.

    I'd love to see a 13"-15" sub with 500-750 watt amp. But I bet now someone will come up with a passive version. hmm wonder if JL audio will go down this path with a 13" version.

    Hey, I'm a noob and I took a gamble on this because how easy it looked. Its f&&king astounding. Does it sound like proper 12s in a box? No. But I have every last inch of my Subaru's hatch completely free. Lets see you bump *and* carry an armoire in a Dirtwagon. Like dude said, my coworker said it looked so strange hearing pretty amazing bass from the hatch with NOTHING in it. No remote wire, so no tearing the dash apart. Just those EZ taps on the speakers and a fatty for power and ground. I got the shallow version, not this exact one. Its even skinnier and even cheaper. My back mat sits exactly as flat it ever did. You can keep all the crap that came in the foam thinger too. The jack and the tow thing.
    After two weeks, I put sound deadening on it, because the whole thing is metal on metal where it meets the tire and the tire meets the body. Also, any loose screws or paper clips rolling around in your trunk get neatly sucked to the very center of your mat due to the giant magnet being a centimeter behind the floor. That's practically a feature!!!
    You can spend three hundred dollars and have better sound, but I dare say it won't be easy. Load resistors? LOC? The sheer nightmare that is a modern Subaru bigscreen and the hundred and five dongles you need to retain everything on a new stereo? If your time is worth nothing, then this isn't a very good deal. You could spend the $300 and days of your life dicking with wires until sunset. But a 15 minute install and a drastic improvement in the dreadful stock bass? For a dummy like me? Who hasn't done car audio since you had to remove your faceplate before you pop into Blockbuster? Swing that!

      It has the amp built in. It's rated at 150 watts RMS. Sounds much more powerful. I actually have this Carlos. It's unbelievable. It's hilarious to pop the hatch on my Acura RSX and nobody sees a sub box or speaker. It's mounted in my spare tire under the carpet and foam pad. Hits like a tank.

      @@MallV0lli0 I have the stock slim one that came with the car. It fits pretty much perfect with the Styrofoam mat and carpet over it. It's very practical, and sounds very good. I'm rocking it still today and hasn't let me down. If you look in my hatch you can't even tell it is there.

      @@MallV0lli0 I do not think you will be disappointed. I have a 2005 Acura RSX type S, and the Bose system actually had a sub woofer ring already in it. It's not even a 6" inch speaker.
