    In Namibia we have a problem with RESETTLEMENT FARMS. The government only give them to those who do cattle and small animals farming. They do NOT consider those who do agriculture busy with fruits and vegetables. So we are ever importing fruits and vegetables. I have my plants big enough to carry fruits here in my yard in Windhoek, but have no land where to plant them. Please give me land, even if it is only two hectors. Please! Grootfontein is good agricultural land, but you advertised it for animals only. Please give me land in Grootfontein area. Please.

      @ilonaamakutuwa5394, our politicians have taken all the land for themselves. They parcel it out to those who swear allegiance to them. The land question in post- independence Africa needs to be revisited.

  • @isatousarr7044
    @isatousarr7044 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    The notion that democracy is a smokescreen of lies touches on a profound disillusionment with political systems that, while outwardly promising representation and fairness, often fail to deliver true empowerment for the people. In many cases, particularly in Africa, democracy has been co-opted by political elites and external powers, who use it as a facade to maintain control and protect their interests rather than serve the will of the people. This disillusionment is further compounded by the neocolonial dynamics that continue to shape the political and economic landscapes in many African nations, where foreign powers exert undue influence over land, resources, and governance.
    In this context, the call that "the African land is for Africa" is a powerful reminder that the continent’s resources, natural wealth, and land should belong to its people, not to external corporations, governments, or international entities. Historically, African land has been exploited by colonial powers and, more recently, by multinational corporations that continue to profit from Africa’s resources without providing adequate benefits to the local populations. This trend persists in various forms, whether through land grabbing, extractive industries, or the displacement of local communities for large-scale agricultural projects driven by foreign interests.
    The land in Africa is deeply tied to cultural identity, heritage, and the livelihoods of millions. It should serve as a foundation for sustainable development and the empowerment of local communities, rather than as a commodity to be sold to the highest bidder. The African people have long been at the mercy of external forces, but the tide is shifting. There is growing recognition across the continent that land sovereignty, self-determination, and control over resources must be reclaimed if Africa is to secure a prosperous, equitable future for its people.
    For democracy to be meaningful in Africa, it must go beyond the surface-level promises of free elections and equal rights. It must address the root causes of economic exploitation, inequality, and foreign domination. True democracy in Africa would mean that local communities have control over their resources and that their leaders are accountable to the people, not to foreign interests. Land sovereignty is a critical part of this vision ensuring that African land remains in African hands, to be used for the benefit of its people, not as a tool for exploitation.
    In summary, the idea that democracy is a smokescreen of lies resonates with the ongoing struggles for genuine political and economic autonomy in Africa. The call that the African land is for Africa serves as a rallying cry for reclaiming control over the continent’s natural resources, ensuring that it is not just political systems that are reformed but that the structures of power and ownership are radically transformed to serve the people, not external interests.

    I agree. The question right now is who owns land in Zimbabwe. If you bought land, you might be safe. But the rest of the land is owned by the state. Politicians, and traditional leaders are major dealers in land. I usually become emotional watching the land cases that the traditional leaders handle, where 80 year olds are told that the land they have been tilling for decades is not theirs. At that age, what can you do to get land? You work up one morning to be told that the land your parents left you was not theirs and you are 80 years old!!!!! In a so-called democratic Zimbabwe!!!! And these are not white people who are doing this. These are our very own politicians and traditional leaders!!!

    Wasn't Mugabe's letdown by those who were sent to study in foreign countries and never came back to rebuild Zimbabwe but became his critics. I my view when Mugabe finally took back the land there would have been enough educated citizens to work it productively.
    The first thing Africans should do is to build patriotism, self-love, awareness of the reality of their situation, and what leads to it. Their land's worth and the beneficiaries thereto.

    Profound speech, very true indeed but why pay thieves 4 what they stole from you n benefited for years whilst you the original native owners of land continue to suffer homelessly n hopelessly in your own land. Just imagine and think deeply how they came from the north and forcefully ruthlessly n violently grabbed land from its Rightful Godgiven Owners, just think about HOW they took all that land, Is it not very Painful n Unfair, just learn from how the Criminal courts of Justice treat anyone found with Stolen property no matter the number of developments put on tt Stolen property...even the Lord Almighty Creator in Heaven above Hates thieves and murderers too Deut5v19, Deut5v17 in Matthew 22v21 He says "Return to Ceaser what Rightfully belongs to CEASER!" ,Proverbs 6v31 He says Every Caught Thief should Repay or Return All Stolen Property 7x7.This is the Truth and may the Lord Almighty Creator's Truth Set Africans n their Land Free in Yeshua's victorious name Amen ;John 8:32 🙏
