    The difference between your energy level in these first videos compares to your most recent is amazing. Perseverance, commitment, and experience really are the best teachers! I started a podcast with some of my buddies and the thing we notice the most is how we get better each episode. Love your channel, love your builds, love your work ethic!

    1:20 - An alternate method... which for some reason people don't think of... drill a few 1/4 inch holes and lay a screen mesh over the base board. The screen allows the suction to spread evenly even when the plastic is pulled down tight... and it leaves a nice textures pattern.

    I loved the hidden door-bookcase. This is a great idea for my townhouse. There is a small door under the stairs that wouldn't be so hateful if there weren't 4 doors within a few of it... All 5 doors are different sizes!! So if I could hide the smallest of the doors, change another door to a pocket door then I might not mind the other ones....

  • @michaelgimbel4418
    @michaelgimbel4418 9 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    If it helps, those things with teeth on the outside and threads on the inside are called threaded inserts.

    • @unclebuild8480
      @unclebuild8480 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The threaded inserts are normally screwed into the material not hammered, better holding power. Using threads in both the top and bottom frames practically guarantees a less than perfect seal. The better way is to drill a hole in the top frame to allow the thumb screw to pass without interference; then the threaded bottom frame will be pulled tight against the top frame. Much better seal and holding strength.

  • @BigRalphSmith
    @BigRalphSmith 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Another alternative to all the hole drilling that works really well:
    Drill a single 1" hole in the center and just drop a flat piece of metal window screen on the bottom (slightly smaller than the frame of course).
    Depending on how you attach your vacuum system, this method may even alleviate the need to build a vacuum box underneath as the vacuum is distributed through the screen above the bottom plate rather than under the bottom plate.

  • @ilovetodothis
