8:35 You figured it out. It ends here:
    1) "You don't know me as a human so you can't tell me what to do."
    2) "I don't want you to get to know me as a human"
With these two simple steps it's always the coach's fault and they always get cut first.

I played handball, football and indoor football in Brazil until I gratuated from College... I can safely say that I was NEVER friends with any of my coaches since childhood.
The thing is, I never needed to be, I respected his opinion and relied on it, if I think he's wrong I say it, in the best case we find a middle ground, in the worst case I will do as he fucking says because he is the coach and it's better when all the team is in sync even though I think there was a better way.

This such an open and shut case. You are spot on. With a bit of common sense this is the one and only conclusion to arrive at. A player gets payed massive amounts of salary to compete at the highest level just cannot behave like this period. Simply denying his coach in every way and form and on top of that an organization that enables him. And he dares to say everyone is out to get him.

Overpaid and overhyped for years for the amount of things they actually won to be spoiled rotten to the point none of them can get signed on anywhere and they still haven't thought to themselves at any point "maybe it's me and I need to change my attitude". Twistzz seems to be the only one with a head on his shoulders who realized if he wanted to win and have a real legacy that isn't forgotten 6 months after you retire he has to change his approach to things. Sad to see but there's a reason all these old NA pro's like Freak and now stewie are struggling to even find non-salaried teams. growing up in Australia we have a very sports oriented childhood and the best coaches i have ever had from junior sports up until senior sports are those who set the standards in pre season, that first training session when you are back from off season with a new coach and he basically says i dont care about rust these are my standards and if your not up to them then your doing a lot of running (basically punishment) and fitness work until you are.
the standards you and the coaching staff set out at training and especially pre season training (bootcamp is basically like pre season for esports) will directly reflect your match day performances, if your training sessions are chill and nobody really tries then your going to perform that way.
this is why i really dont understand the "its day 1 why is he doing this day 1" bullshit, a coach SHOULD be coming in Day 1 and being like that he SHOULD be coming in day 1 and saying THIS is what i expect from you.
also if a coach can not set his standards then a player will never have a clear picture of what the coach wants and expects from you as a player.
a good coach once hes done all that will then also pull individuals aside if they arent meeting expectations or have dropped off expectations and ask why, Coaches need to know a bit about you and your outside curcumstanses to be able to get the best performance out of you, if a players form drops it can be due to something on the outside and if the coach doesn't know that then hes not going to be able to see the big picture and see where he can get performance out of you so when a coach says lets have a chat then thats what hes trying to do, hes not being your therapist hes just trying to get the bigger picture to find ways to get performance out of you.

Freak is the perfect representation of why the NA mindset and ego is a problem and why NA won't be comptitive until they fix that.
People keep telling that NA needs more representation more orgs to be competitive, but the deep source of the problem is their attitude. And that's why team like Liquid, EG, col have 0 result despite being able to practice in Europe as much as they want
    Also a low ambition.
Twistzz : "Alright boys, if we wanna be competitive and be at the top, we either relocate to Europe and grind there, or I'm out"
    - Liquid "No"
Then he left and is now in Faze with a major won.
shox even confirmed it, liquid spends too much time in NA and take too many day offs for them to advance. They're definitely not giving their 100%
EG "We will spend most of our time in Europe"
    >bomb out first at Blast
    >Fly back to NA
    >Queue Valorant until the next event
You can have all the ressources in the world, if you don't have any ambition, have a bad work ethic or bad attitude. You'll never be at the top

I'd like to make a comment here, which RL also brought up at the start of the video. Bias. It's clear to me that freak is biased, he is looking after a (presumable) friend and as such has bias. Richard here is (imo obviously) a fan of Malek which, is also fine. I think if you're wanting a full step-backed take on this entire set of events you need to have been in a competitive situation yourself and also have been coached alongside a group of team mates / players.
I haven't really had the aforementioned experience, so I am using logic - but my logic can also be bias! kinda hard at time.
For me, I think stewie needs some help from people that aren't circle jerking him - he needs a real friend to tell him some good truths and some hard truths.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that Stewie never played any organized sport as a child or teen. On every team I ever played (baseball / basketball / soccer / tennis), if you openly and brazenly disrespected the coach you were benched. Your 'pedigree' or ego didn't matter, you weren't playing as many games as it took until you L I S T E N E D during practice. There's a lot of life lessons to be learned from playing team sports when you are young and impressionable.

For someone who looks like that does sports... how is freakzoid the one undermining the importance of a coach? especially when the coach is trying to bring discipline to the team...
And malek didnt have to be your therapist if you all just acted professionally and do what he says in a working enviroment.
No one wants to be your therapist...

That comment at 6:25 is moronic even for freak. The coach isn't going off his thoughts, but his observations. From what the coaches said, Malek's critique of Stewie was textbook, only referencing his observable behavior and making no comments on his person or character. If you can't take that, you really can't work in any adult job with any amount of pressure or performance expectations, because in those you need to be able to take objective and helpful criticism.

Esports players are the only ones who think you can run a team like a pub. Just step up and order whatever you want.
As a football fan (soccer for the americans) hearing about players not wanting to talk to their coach or thinking they are just there to keep the vine good is so stupid.
You want emotional support? Get a girlfriend but your coach is not there to kiss your ass and tell you how well you're doing. Your coach not being able to tell you when you play bad is exactly why teams fail and it is obviously why EG failed.

  • @TiagoPereira-ce9si

Freakzoid's opinion on this just shows NA players cinderella mindset. We are the players we know what we are doing and the coach is there to watch and only anwser when he's spoken to, wich is the complete opposite of what a coach is.
He literaly said malek should have waited 3 months to see if what the players were doing worked and only intervene afterwards, like why did they even wired him then lool
They're not playing around with their friends they are doing a job and they are being payed for it. "You don't know me as a human". Who the fuck cares you have a job to do. I'ma say that to my boss next time i'm asked to work with somebody I dont know to see what happens 😄😄😄
