This reminds me of that reserve goalkeeper for Sutton United who a bookie was offering odds on him eating a pie on the bench, he got wind of it and did it for a joke - an issue wholly caused by the bookies offering odds on random shite. If they were just allowed to put odds on more "material" things (wins/losses, k/d etc.), it becomes harder to justify fixing these metrics
EDIT: got ahead of myself, you got it!

Completely agrees, that such behaviour is "at least" - "wrong". But seems like all our guys in CIS continue to agrue with this, saying something like: "They are Robin Hoods, they took this money from a bad rich guy - bookmaker, and gave it to poor person". Man, how I hate this take on events and the delusion of fans. It only shows how much more we should watch over everything, and not just some tier-Australia CS, to root out this.

As a long time navi fan, youre 100% correct about the fuckery going on in that org.
I think this will be a very diffiucult story to break with the current timing, cis really dislikes you and thorin, people will see this as a rival betting site feuding though their partners, navi is a ukranian org, they get massive sympathy rn for obvious reasons.

    "Crappy gun that nobody uses"
    "Navi all had 16k"
    "only for the meme"
"It doesn't affect the match, game, integrity"
    All these arguments are moot.
Here's a possible in-game scenario as to why.
ART manages to lurk his way around CT spawn area with his AWP. Na'Vi notices him and decides to kill them together with a smoke. ART having found the M249, surprises them with a spray, killing 3 CTs and then subsequently winning the round. Ending the first half (3 : 12).
Second half FURIA does the come back (13 : 2) thus winning the match (16 : 14)
If Na'Vi didn't drop the gun, game could have ended (15 : 15).
I see this as breaching the integrity of the game. You literally changed outcome of the game by leaving a gun because of a bet. Intention doesn't even matter in this case.

Richard basically said he didn't respect Jones, because of all the fuckery he has been doing, and yes, we respect Bisping for not taking any PED's, but he is not in the conversation of GOAT status by any means. Even with the context of Jones having taken steroids, it's very hard to dismiss the fact that he beat 3 generations of LHW greats, and even did it while only losing once (not talking about the DQ loss to Matt Hamill in 2009, but the fight against Reyes, which he definitely lost, no matter what the judges said)

He's a cheat just like current fighters like gyno boy Adesanya, Usman, Nganno, the list goes on and on.

  • @phoenixfireblazz1545

Man, how much conflict of interest can it be? The sponsor of the leading e-sports org making a very unconventional bet with astronomical odds (and with direct power to influence the outcome and having a cut to the profit). I agree that these sort of bets should never be allowed in the first place.
It will probably get laughed off and never seriously investigated (why would ESL investigate a team with one of the largest viewership and the #1 team ranked with betting problem which would affect ESL's reputation, right?) even if the outcome is not that widespread or serious. Once again, I agree that regions like CIS can probably get away due to little to no legal protection as compared to the more developed regions of NA and Europe.
Coupled with the fact that NAVI would just get so much sympathy due to war and everything, it would be tossed in 'low priority' issues and never properly highlighted.
Plus, coupled with the fact that ESIC is a joke and CS fans are just so catered to the players who have established (they basically consider them as gods/idols), I would even argue that they would defend it with all their might and would rather remain blind to truth than see the reality.
But most importantly, it affects the integrity of the sport so much. If I even get a hint that a single round in a game is scripted in CSGO, I might even just altogether stop watching. The thrill and the moment is what we're looking while watching any sport and if it's fundamentally taken away, it's meaningless to watch it further.

I disagree with your main point that this is going to lead to something worse. 'Placing a bet on buying a useless M249 on the last round of a half when you are loaded on money is going to lead to more serious match fixing'; M249 spot-fixing is a gateway drug to throwing matches! I don't think so.
The 501 price on buying an M249 is GGBet's problem. What if they decided to offer a market on which teammate they are going to fistbump first? Your example with the English goalie and the pie is actually perfect, this dude is known for doing it, and his eating literally has no (or negligible) impact on the result of the match.
At what point does a market become too ridiculous to offer? Say we create one that lets the punter bet on whether s1mple will fistbump Boombl4 or electronic first after the end of the first round. These three players may agree ahead of time on how they will play the system to make money for themselves. And the beauty of it is:
    1) Has no impact on winning the match, so the game integrity is preserved.
    2) Nobody could prove that they have conspired.
And yet, this is still illegal. Their betting accounts are private, so nobody knows that they are making money. And they are still winning games and trying their best. How do we go about investigating this issue or even uncovering its existence to begin with?
In the following scenario, imagine Na'Vi players never heard of the 'fistbump market'. Now we all know that s1mple will fistbump his teammates after the end of every round. In prior matches, s1mple never knew of the fistbump market and, from the outside perspective, fistbumping Boombl4or electronic first is a probabilistic event that we can try to model. Say before the next match s1mple saw a tweet that revealed to him the existence of the 's1mple will fistbump electronic first' bet. Now, after a particular round s1mple knows that if he fistbumps Boombl4 or electronic first (or perhaps won’t fistbump either) he is essentially settling bets. What should he do?
