@esaedvik I really hope you guys get a review model in soon, I've had a few Acer products in the past ( Acer Ferrari notebook!) and I've never had any problems. with that being said, you will see for the price it should cost more! Not because of how it 's built (& the built is very good!) but for what's inside. It actually preforms better than the Xoom, viewing angles is very good, Acer calls it "Wide View Angle" I've tilt it to about 30 degrees with no lost in colors. I'll look for your review.
You should do something about that umbrella light reflecting the screen. How about two lights more farther away in the left and right, plus the light is too yellow which makes the screen look too blueish. Use ~6500 kelvin lights so the screen should be the same white as your lights. Also dim them down because the screen looks too dim.
@bigsteamfan well it's maybe about getting a mobile workstation, which is mostly used to browse the Internet
can you use both slots on the transformer, I mean insert a memory card inside the microsd card slot on the transformer and then insert a memory card inside the card reader inside the dock, and be able to use them both simultaneously

I really love the look of this tablet and I'm very tempted but the fact that it doesn't have a user replaceable battery worries me. What's the life span of the batteries in these tablets? I'd hope to get a couple of years out of them....
are those like typing programs? like can i type up assignments for school? cos i was thinking of buying this but id need to be able to do that (:

no its Android only. But it does have Polaris Office and Google Docs, along with Android 4.0 (with update).
a small question plz,,, having a keyboard dock with the tablet does that means i cant type or write on the screen like any other tablet ???

If I type up a word document or make a slide show or edit a video using this tablet, can I then transfer those files onto my home computer which uses windows and open them?
@aercy18 that's actually awesome news then! I was saving to get the transformer 1 at christmas the most. If it releases when they say it will I (and no doubt others who waited) will be excited to get something more powerful and from what I've read recently about a price of $450- $500. Hopefully it does release before January. The thing I worry about is if its a rushed product because they announced it pretty early and plan to release it early too. No doubt it will still get huge sales.
Great review but no mention that this tab is typically £100 cheaper than the xoom. Something worth considering.

@XkriskrossX The Prime has been released and has a Quad Core processor, 8MP Camera, as thin as the iPad 2, and smooth with ICS. Too bad.

@NikoliZZer Yes, but for the same money you CAN do anything this tablet can do, including browsing... and pretty much ANYTHING else... Because you could buy a netbook with a FULL complete OS like Windows 7...
can it do MS office? like word , powerpoint and excel?

Mac need to do something like this... I'd still buy this though, I'd just like to see how nice a mac would make it look...
@bigsteamfan netbooks aren't as compact as the tablets are. also they don't have touchscreen, but yes, there is Windows 7 based tablets, but what about the battery life?

@Cinimod105 YOU ARE 110% RIGHT. I returned my iPad 2 for that same reason. Too closed source. Android is more open and I like that.
@MILeyBERs Yeah, it only comes in the bronze, but it's nicer than it looks in real life. The grip feels amazing. I bought it, kind of thinking "this is gonna bit me in the arse, I'll wish I got a netbook instead", (I won't buy any apple product for moral reasons) but I love mine to bits, and I honestly don't know why. It just has some kind of cute appeal that makes me love it.
M ooking for buying a good tablet for basic use: browsing, gaming, taking pictures. Which one will be better? The Sony Tablet S or the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer? Anybody?
yeah, with a Microsoft Office app (about $15 but worth it) you can make and present Presentations, Word documents, and create spreadsheets so its perfect.
@aercy18 I guess october was wishfull thinking then.Next year makes more sense i suppose.
Does it support .avi, .mkv files?
@TheMushroomMenace They say it has Polaris Office installed, which can read and edit office documents. Check Polaris_Document_Master on wikipedia. Don't expect a full office package, that would probably be to 'heavy'.
@JC5301 No dude he is correct abt the info. Asus said that they are planing to launch the Transformer 2 in Oct-Nov which will be the first Android Ice-cream sandwich Kal-El Tegra 3 Quad Core Tablet but I doubt they'll release it before Jan-Feb. It simply gonna be showcased around Oct (At earliest, which is unlikely) .. they are not gonna jeopardize the sales of Transformer that soon. Specially for countries like India where it just came out, don't know abt US, UK markets

It depend. I have the Acer and I'm super happy with it. I also got the LG G slate, the Mote xoom and I'm not happy with them. much more happy with the Acer a500. Its slightly faster than the Xoom, have a working SD card slot, a full USB as well as a micro USB, A second on screen keyboard, the speakers are the best out of all the android tabs Thanks to Dolby Mobile, movies gives you that feel and the EQ makes the sound even better & I get about 8 hrs battery life. I love it.

The thing about this is that you don't have to maintain this like you would a windows os...such as virus protection...defraging...etcetera.

720P HAVE NO PROBLEM, 1080P IS NOT IDEAL AT THE MOMENT. BUT FROM READING TO SOME SITES ITS CAPABLE TO DO 1080P HOWEVER ACRE HAVE TO PUSH OUT AN UPDATE SOMETIMES IN THE SUMMER. BUT AS OF NOW 720P VIDEOS ARE GREAT. Gaming is great, at the moment I have a few emulators (NES, SNES!) Bang Bang racing,need for speed, rip tide gp is AWESOME, WATER LOOKS REAL, SAMURAI 2 VENGEANCE WORKS WONDERFUL.

@esaedvik Also (if I might add!) Apple & Android....It comes down to choice. I've returned my Ipad2 because iOS is "closed source" I'm not really into a closed platform so I choice Android. In the USA the ipad2 is $599 USD for 16 gig with no SD card slot, no USB or mini USB,just to name a few, can't play AVI's,
iPad2 needs iTunes or it's worthless, things like that. I love the freedom of Android. My Acer Iconia A500 cost $449 USD & I get all of that ;-) minus the worthless lol.

Respond to this video... Ive seen a few reviews saying the xoom is much fatter than this, and also the specs say this is 91 grams heavier than the ipad 2, not much at all.....

@Cinimod105 But the specs on the iPad 2 are worse than Android tablets, so that makes no sense. It's actually the exact opposite. The reason it seems more fluid and snappy is the software and the fact everything is controlled by Apple.
