Before seeing this, I was never really stoked on tablets but this changed my mind completely!! Very cool product!! This really does bridge the gap between tablets and computers/laptops.

You got some stuff wrong there,
First of all the button on the right is not the charging dock but its the Micro SD slot....
The Connecting Dock is also the charging dock and the speakers are smooth down the sides and not below, they are just some support for when you connect to the dock.
Give this some likes so that the wrong Information can be corrected.

I really really like this. I think that also the people who dislike Apple competitors in everything (laptops, tablets, etc.) have never tried another product or just are uninformed. Each and every product is really great, just some better than others, and while I think the iPads (1 and 2) are great, I think the Xoom and this are spectacular as well. And Android is a great OS for more advanced technology users or ones willing to take the next step, which lots of commenters here aren't .
LOL everything about it looks like they were "inspired" by the iPad! The pakaging, the layout of the box, the bezel on the eee itself too LOL

Very interesting tablet. With the optional dock, might be more than I have been looking for.
You can buy it as either just the tablet or a bundle with the keyboard. If you buy the bundle, you usually save about $50 in the long run.
@bigsteamfan It was recorded entirely on the iPad. You can get external Mics and instrument rigs (iRig for eg) to record to it. It was also done before iPad 2 came out so there was no GarageBand. It was made with a bunch of different music apps. Of course right NOW tablets can't compete against a full OS and a big ass workstation like a Mac Pro running Logic (which is more or less a given in regards to what system and software professional audio is usually mixed in), but it's going that way.

Nice review, will be picking one up Tuesday and returning my Xoom. Really enjoying HC but the option for a KB dock with working SD and USB, all at a cheaper price makes too much sense.

@electrotech555 Pablo Picasso said it, and it wasn't meant in the context pretty much everyone associates it with. He meant it in the sense of "stealing" from nature, because everything in nature is beautiful, to a great artist must try to "steal" from nature.

@yeahitsjackiie no he wasn't, also, it's not a button, but a slider to slide the latches that latch to the bottom of the tablet. the ones that he thought were speakers.

WOW! i've been meaning to get a netbook for sometime now and this tablet convertible netbook is really appealing to me right now. Now i'm not much of a techy so i do have a question, is this better than atom processor netbook?
is there a GPS antenna build in, or works that over the WiFi and 3G?
When the GPS is build in, then i am very excited about getting one!

@TalesOfWar I'm not denying the fact that iPad can create content. Yes they can, but the idea was that he was saying that productivity on this tablet with it's keyboard it's comparable to the productivity of a laptop with a fully fledged operating system. That Gorillaz album maybe was rudimentary edited with GarageBand, but I don't think they recorded it with iPad's mic, that would suck ! You won't see producers editing on the iPad, they'll use Avid, a FULL professional editor, on a laptop...
@aStrandedHobo actually the i pad does have a keyboard connector that plugs into the tablet.
I just love how the packaging and idea is EXACTLY THE SAME as the iPad. -______-

This thing seems, for the price, and it's transforming capabilities, to be the best out on the market.
I am seeing a lot of the characteristics super close to the original iPad form factor... Like the edge... Asus please come up with your own designing the future...
Is it cheaper to buy it together with the dock station? because I've watch some other video saying that if you buy it together it's only 100 instead of 150 if you bought it individually.

can you add an external dvd drive to that usb port? or would the software not be compatable with honey comb? i have the 4G xoom & my fiance wants a tablet too & i really love the xoom but if we could get that tablet for her with that dock do you think 1 day there would be an app for dvd burning?
@hady1100 you get some that do come with the keyboard dock, and some that are just the tablet. the dock is around £100

Nice, been looking for something besides a ipad since i dont want to wast near $600 for a giant sized ipod touch. Might pick one of these up.
You got most of the physical aspects wrong! The power button, volume rocker and one of the SRS speakers are on the left. The right has the mic, micro sd sard slot (not the charging port), mini hdmi out, headhone port, and the second SRS speaker. The bottom has the charging/syncing port in the middle and the two other slots on either side of the docking port are for connecting it to the keyboard dock.
it's like taking out a netbook screen and seperate it from the keyboard nice innovation very creative ! =D
What I would like to know is can the Eee pad do Microsoft programs like office? That would be really helpful, as my current laptop is really heavy. As a college student I take 3 classes each day, and having 3 classes of books, + a laptop puts my backpack at 45lbs. I am looking to decrease the weight, so that is why I need this to be able to use Microsoft office.
