  • If your 3 point hitch is stuck up this is the fix most of the time. I also show how to adjust the 3 point hitch speed control.

    Extremely handy tip for my wife and I. We just got our first tractor and i was planning to try and get the 3 point hitch assembled this weekend in case we have enough time left to rototill before the snow hits. Your video im betting saved us a few headaches lol.
    Thanks for your time and effort to make this video. There are some of us out there you helped a ton.😊👍👍

    I know it’s an old video but it helped me a ton today! I actually had the problem of I had a snow blade on the back and when I set it down, it would slam down! Now i adjusted the speed it goes down nice and smooth! Thanks so much for the help!

    Thank you very much. I must have nudged the valve position ( in front of seat 2” up from floor) on my GL4760. The 3 point was perfectly happy to go up.
    Down?
    Nada?
    Head scratching, I looked up “my Kubota 3 point hitch won’t go down” .
    Bingo, your video popped up!

    Informational videos are a great resource . Especially since the Ocala Kubota Dealer didn’t go over any operational information with me when the tractor was delivered. Guessing I looked smart enough to figure it out (not) or he had a lunch break coming up.

    Good info, Bullitt. I like the 3 point quick hitch and carry-all as well. Trying to figure out a similar set up for my tractor but I'm limited since backhoe framework is permanently in place and restricts space. Thanks for sharing video.

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks!! What tractor do you have? I would do forks on the loader and build a carry all for the forks.

    • @houndsmanone4563
      @houndsmanone4563 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Massey GC1710. The backhoe frame seems to limit width between lift arms. So don't know if there's a quick hitch with such a narrow width. May have to go with forks on loader. Thanks.

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think a quick hitch is about 28'' wide but I can get a measurement to be sure.

    See that's what I'm talking about. Great video ! This is the FIRST and ONLY video I've seen in weeks of watching tractor videos that shows HOW you can adjust that.... like you did. Slow, fast, with and without weight on it. If there is another video, I'd love somebody to link to it. Here is my question..... with your technique - can you drop your attachment of choice down, to the ground, but not hit the ground. Let's say you have a lot of gravel on your road, and have a rear blade, but don't want to scrape the road 100% can you somehow keep that blade about 2 inches off the ground ? I've seen comments that you can quickly nudge that control above the wheel the lever ( not the knob ) and with a fast push and let-go, you can get that rear 3-point do drop only a bit and *stop* ..... would love to see a video of you doing that with any attachment ! That would be awesome !

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! It is next to impossible to keep an attachment a couple inches off the ground unless the it is prefectly level. When the front axles goes down in a dip, the attachemnt will be higher. When the front axle goes up over a bump the blade will be closer or dig in. If you are moving snow, a set of skid shows would help. I run my blade backwards to keep it from digging in.

    Perfect video for me. I did a silly thing. I tried adjusting my seat and twisted that 3 point valve instead. And then I couldn't figure out why my 3 point was stuck. I guess 10 hours on the tractor tires out the brain and one can do stupid things :)

    Thanks for the info, now a question for you. Is it possible to lower your deck without lowering the 3 point hitch? Thanks again.

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes and no. There is a place on the back to connect the side links so the 3 point hitch does not go up and down with the mower. I've never used it. I wish the deck had a little hydraulic cylinder to raise it. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

    • @gregfromdownunder6879
      @gregfromdownunder6879 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your response, why I wanted to know was I have a counterbalance on the 3 point hitch that I have to remove whenever I need to mow as it bottoms out when I lower the deck. Any suggestions gladly received.

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you know if your counterweight is quick hitch compatible? If it is I would get a quick hitch. Then you can drop your counterweight in seconds and reinstall it in no time.

      @@TractorTech I took the shifter and the forks out today... and reset them to neutral by prying with a philips head screwdriver. My guess is looking at the races on the gears, maybe one fork jumped out of a race? Shouldn't happen, but they weren't matching up and I took photographs.
      I'm going to reset the gears to neutral so their races match the fork races in neutral, put it back together, and *hope* it fixes the problem... and it's not something buggered up with the HI/LOW gear or PTO gear... that would suck.
