    I live in Buenos Aires and, as much as I love it, I must admit that Mar del Plata is such a beautiful city to live in. Quieter (except during summer), less polluted, and you can go out and stroll around the beach and feel the sea breeze. Nothing compares to that.

Which is the best website to search for an apartment and used vehicle and perhaps also discuss the price of different types of used vehicles. Also which companies to approach for utilities, water, gas, electricity etc?

Because of the coronavirus pandemic I have not been to Argentina since March 2020. But I will be back this November. I plan on retiring in Argentina but have not made up my mind yet Buenos Aires or Mar Del Plata. Maybe six months in Buenos Aires and six months in Mar del Plata?

      There are many vegetarian’s here and most places have a veggie option so that shouldn’t be much of a problem. There’s only a handful of Asian restaurants here, but I don’t think there are buffets and food delivery is great and affordable.

    Hi! Me and my Bf are now at buenos aires. Wondering, is there also good possibility to change to dollar blue? And if you know, what is the easiest way (Visa problems) to stay in Argentina over the 3 months? Thanks! 😊

    • @sitopoema
      @sitopoema  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, I have a video on my channel talking about exchanging money. But I use Western Union to exchange in dollar blue and as far as visa problems I’m dealing with one sort of right now I over extended my stay back in 2021 and I have to pay a fine of 12,500 pesos. I over extended my stay again by only a few days in 2022 and immigrations didn’t like that they said I’m looking like a false tourist so personally, I would recommend try not to do it. am a bit nervous on my reentry.

    I was wondering; do you think sometimes about creating more "purpose content" ? Is that something you have ever thought of pursuing ? Like... something you want to achieve with your channel perhaps ? The reason I'm asking is that Mar del Plata has a long history of "architectural controversies and polemics" There's always the perpetual argument over tearing down the old in order to build new stuff, there's a history of wasted money on infrastructure than never got maintained and ended up falling apart, a lack of attention given inward towards the interior of the city, while everything is allocated it seems only to the coastline. I'm very passionate about this, when you think about it Mar del Plata is Argentina's one and only façade sea faring port and portal to the world. Other cities like Bahia Blanca or Comodoro Rivadavia don't quite make the cut of potentially representing the country to the oceans of the world. Anyone who comes to visit Argentina and happens to ask "what beach city can we go visit"? will timidly 'maybe' be advised to go see Mar del Plata. It's like Argentina is not really proud of Mar del Plata, so people are sent to Bariloche, Tierra del Fuego or Iguazu Falls instead. As a consequence its own municipality is mediocre and doesn't have the standards of urban design aesthetics and public architectural imagery that it should be aiming for.
    It's what we got for better or for worse, but Buenos Aires doesn't seem to think its important enough to dedicate more resources to having it fulfill its place. THAT'S WHY WE NEED TO BRING ATTENTION TO THE NEGLECT GOING ON IN LIGHT OF HOW MUCH INTERNATIONAL VISITORS WOULD POTENTIALLY REALLY APPRECIATE AND LIKE ABOUT MDP A GREAT DEAL, which you already are doing your 50% part of just by coming from the US to highlight so many cool things that Argentinians themselves would not think would be enjoyed by outsiders.
    OK, so what am I getting at? ... That there right now several chateaus that are being threatened with demolition or abandoned, candidates to soon be bought and demolished. Mar del Plata needs a big international quality auditorium that looks the part of a landmark on its skyline, like so many mayor port cities have. It should perhaps crown a renovated Puerto MdP. It needs its soccer stadium Maria Minelli restored and made larger. It actually has a Philharmonic Orchestra but barely funded by anyone!! It has no landscaping project for the city! Avenida Colon looks like some cement Canyon, it should have a row of gorgeous Jacarandas running down the middle as you look down from its hilltop. There's a lot dude if you know how to find it. There's a lot of organizations trying to help out the barrios. Groups of Marplatenses that are trying to restore monuments, wetlands, forests, buildings! Potentially hundreds of interviews are sitting out there waiting for you to bring them to view online. Get in there! Dive in and let Argentina know what is seriously unacceptably getting neglected. We should be aiming for Mar del Plata becoming Argentina's second most important city, but not by making it a bulky sky scrapper producing industrious concrete jungle! Rather by managing to increase its scale while preserving its unique qualities. There's tons of work that needs to be done.
    www.lacapitalmdp.com/la-mujer-que-salva-las-esculturas-que-sobreviven-en-las-plazas/
    I ran into this lady at Plaza Mitre once (the one featured in the link above), she didn't let me record her, but I managed to get some questions in. Later I discovered Facebook is full of groups and pages that have to do with Mar del Plata at a historical and cultural level. They are really encouraging . There's Mar del Plata de Ayer, Mar del Plata viaja en el Tiempo, Calles de Mar del Plata, Reserva Natural Puerto Mar del Plata, MdP Cultura y Noviolencia, MdP Yoga por la Paz, Bosque Peralta Ramos, Desarollo Cultural MdP. You will never run out of material if you have a big conceptual purpose at the other end of the road my friend.
    You're biggest fan- Pat
