- We travel by bus on the last leg our our journey - back to our family in Alabang Metro Manila from San Pablo Laguna. Before leaving San Pablo, Cristina gave our stay at the Star Hotel a big fat nothing. No thumbs up what-so-ever. Good thing we always check under the bed. You will not believe what we found under our bed at the Star Hotel. Ride along with us as we head back to the big city to spend a week enjoying family and having a Metro Manila good time. #joecristina #morefuninthephilippines #philippinetravel #balikbayan #filipinocanadian #philippines #sanpablolaguna #alabang #bayanan

Wow! Thanks for the ridealong.
looks like you guys are having A GOOD TIME. . . .GOOD FOOD. . . GOOD SAVINGS. . . . .
Yes indeed - our entire trip around Philippines has been awesome - lot's of fun and great food and friendly people.
That's a motel with 3 hours limited rooms
Yes it is a motel with 3 hours limited rooms. Wish that was made clear on Booking.com 'cause had we known we never would have booked it.
That's not actually a family-friendly hotel, if you know what I mean. Most people go there for short-stays so they don't really care about it that much, they'll do their business and get on with it. That's why the staffs are complacent too.
Ha ha - we agree with you. But when you look on-line on Booking.com there is no way to tell it is not family-friendly. Until you arrive - but then its late and you have already paid. Our experience with Philippine accommodation over-all has been great. Hotels here are a super good value, clean and well run. Certainly better value than in our home country of Canada. Booking.com has been good too. Until this one time. Weird. Oh well. No harm done. Makes for a good travel story. And a lesson learned.
