JOE & CRISTINA
Canada
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 24 ก.ย. 2009
Joe and Cristina live in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This channel is our Travel Vlog. We like to go places and explore. Sometimes the places we visit are very close to home and sometimes they are on the other side of the world. Philippines is one of our favourite travel destinations - because that is where Cristina was born and we have family there --- and also because Filipinos are so welcoming and fun and the towns and landscape so amazing. Joe was born in Metro Vancouver. We both love where we live in Metro Van and enjoy exploring local hiking trails and nature destinations in our home province. There are few places in the world that are like Metro Vancouver - where you can live in the city surrounded by two million people and still do day trips into wilderness, old-growth forests, mountains and wild rivers full of wildlife. Metro Vancouver's near-by natural wonders are amazing. #vancouvertravels #explorebc #bcparks #morefuninthephilippines #philippinestravel

มุมมอง 7116 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
Another great summertime Skytrain Adventure - this time an expedition from our home in New Westminster out to Vancouver's popular Kitsilano Beach - or Kits Beach as it's often called. Grandkid cool-down mission. Leaving the car at home was like removing our chains and experiencing car free heaven! #joecristina #skytrain #vancouverskytrain #filipinocanadian #metrovancouver #sapperton #newwestmin...
SKYTRAIN ADVENTURES - Pinoy Joy in Canada at Burnaby BC festival with Martin Nievera

We are back in our awesome home town in Canada - Metro Vancouver. Got my tooth fixed after a run-in with a dried fish in Philippines. We got so used to filming our Philippines adventures we decided we would give vlogging a try around our home along the Skytrain line. 10 kilometres down the line we walked into the middle of a mighty good time at Burnaby's Swangard Stadium. The fabulous Pinoy Fes...
Leaving Philippines going back home to Canada

Wow - Cristina and I had so much fun traveling from town to town in the Philippines. But now it's time to head back to our home in Metro Vancouver, Canada. Thanks for following us on our Philippine journey. See you all on the other side of the Pacific Ocean in the province of British Columbia, Canada as we continue our wild ride together. #joecristina #morefuninthephilippines #philippinetravel ...
Greenhills Shopping Center got way bigger!
มุมมอง 33414 วันที่ผ่านมา
Cristina and I hit the busy streets of Manila for another day of shop 'till we drop. First stop - Greenhills Shopping Centre - a must see shopping experience that we visit every time we are in Manila. We found our old familiar shopping places still there - we we also found that Greenhills has grown way way bigger with added floors of name brand stores and eateries. After Greenhills we retreated...
Baclaran Shopping Spree
มุมมอง 70714 วันที่ผ่านมา
Metro Manila has some great shopping zones. We hit two of them that couldn't be more different from each other. Cristina and I and two of my sister-in-laws headed out for the street market of friendly frenetic Baclaran followed up by the air con coolness of Mall of Asia. We wound our way through the streets of the city like sparrows in windstorm. #joecristina #morefuninthephilippines #philippin...
Surviving Manila traffic and Divisoria Market mayhem
มุมมอง 64014 วันที่ผ่านมา
Sometimes having lots of fun is also lots of work. It's not for the faint-hearted to brave Manila traffic then enter the wildly energetic Divisoria Public Market on a hunt for cool stuff. This is Cristina's natural habitat. We even visited Pasay City - a packed district in Metro Manila were Cristina first learned how to hold her own making deals in the market. The never ending parade of colour,...

We travel by bus on the last leg our our journey - back to our family in Alabang Metro Manila from San Pablo Laguna. Before leaving San Pablo, Cristina gave our stay at the Star Hotel a big fat nothing. No thumbs up what-so-ever. Good thing we always check under the bed. You will not believe what we found under our bed at the Star Hotel. Ride along with us as we head back to the big city to spe...
Long bus ride to San Pablo from Naga City
มุมมอง 67521 วันที่ผ่านมา
Today we close the gap between us and Manila. This requires a long bus ride between Naga City and San Pablo. Before we left Naga Cristina gave our stay at the Borj Place Inn a one and a half thumbs up rating. This is not the first time we have stayed at the Borj. We love this good value accommodation located close to the Naga bus station. Nice air con bus - but by the time we reached San Pablo ...
Enjoying Naga City

We are back in Naga! Cristina and I always try to swing by Naga City whenever we are near - because this is the birthplace of Cristina's Mom. After several hard riding days on the road we chose Naga City to relax in for a day. Good choice. #joecristina #morefuninthephilippines #philippinetravel #balikbayan #filipinocanadian #philippines #nagacity
Bicol Tuyo and other adventures on the road between Sorsogon City and Naga City
มุมมอง 43121 วันที่ผ่านมา
All we had to do was get ourselves from Sorsogon City to Naga City. People say that life is more about the journey than the destination. I guess this day the people are correct. Cristina gave our stay in Sorsogon at Antonio's Bed & Breakfast a two thumbs up - the highest rating she bestows. We loved our time a the beautiful and quirky Antonio's. There is no way to properly explain how this day ...
Ferry and Bus from Allen, Visaya to Sorsogon, Bicol

Another day on the road in paradise. We started in the little town of Allen with Cristina giving our stay at the Mamori Hotel a one and a half thumbs up rating. Arrived in Sorsogon City wandered around enjoying the city and relaxing after our journey. #joecristina #morefuninthephilippines #phi...

We are on the move again, trying to get to Manila in a few days. Follow along as we figure out how to go from Tacloban, Leyte province to Allen, Northern Samar province. The van trip between Liloan, Southern Leyte Province and Tacloban, Leyte Province is a bit over 150 kilometres which is not so far. But the difference between quiet rural Liloan and loud urban Tacloban is considerable. Cristina and I loved being in both places and plan to spend more time on the Island of Leyte on our next trip for sure. #joecristina #morefuninthephilippines #philippinetravel #b...

Thank you very much for featuring our beloved city, city of Iligan!!!!
You are welcome po. Cristina and I enjoyed our time in Iligan and look forward to our next visit when we can explore more.
Pretty cool shipping container room! Arjan Resort looks peaceful.
Both of those places were highlights of our Philippines travels this year. People in both of those locations were super friendly and helpful.
Hi! Thanks for this video! Planning to go to allen for sightseeing tourist spots there. Can I ask how much does the fare cost you?
To go from Tacloban to Allen by aircon bus it cost us about 600 pesos each. We got the bus at the station across from Robinsons. The actual price is around 500 pesos each - but we also paid an additional 100 pesos to the porter that took us to the correct bus and helped us get accepted. We were very happy to pay 600 pesos each. The bus we got on goes straight through to Manila - but we got off in Allen and took a tricycle to our hotel. You can also take a van to Allen - but we did not want to wait. Hope that helps. Happy travels!
I suspected you were Canadian when you said "deke around"
Busted. That is awesome. Cristina and I are both Canadian. I am Canadian born and grew up deking around stuff - but did not know that deke is a tell, like toque. But now we know -- thanks!
🤗🤗🤗🤗
Misss ILIGAN CITY
I'm not sure pourus plastic bowls are a good hygienic choice for long term restaurant usage.
You are probably right. Cristina and I have a few eatery strategies when on the road going from town to town. We generally eat where the locals eat. And we generally don't eat in an empty place. I figure those two strategies were a big part of keeping us both healthy over several months of in travel the Philippines - without fail.
Scratches in plastic dinnerware are not the easiest to sanitize in lukewarm water using a substandard dish washing liquid and done by someone trying to hurry.
But the US trained department of health people would shut down every single eating establishment in the Philippines.. What ya gonna do?. Just trust and have some faith maybe.
A "bargirl" is always better than a "baboy"
Better not to stay here because Manila is not safe compare to other region which is more safety and comfortable and even retirement is not good anymore. Come here if our president is VP Inday Sara Duterte. That's the best thing you do. Once Sara Duterte is on good faith yah!, Philippines won't the same as Marcos do. Very bad situation now. This situation now is under the influence of to much corruption from the president and also in higher house and lower house involve also high ranking officials, Police and military personnel. The government cannot sympathize with an addict in a prohibited drug
I`m a new SUBSCRIBER!I'm enjoying your videos😊☺
Thanks for all the work you guys did for us. My wife and I enjoyed the food and hotel reviews. You gave us a some ideas for our next trip to Philippines. Great job stay safe.
Very happy to hear that you found the reviews useful! Thank you for the encouragement and good luck and the best of times on your next trip to the Philippines.
Please take RG back with you.
How long before you come back to the Philippines? Just recently started watching your videos and now you are returning to Canada. I and my Filipina wife are still in the States ( South Carolina ) and look forward to retiring to part time in the Philippines and part time in the States. Have safe travels! I will miss your travel videos in the Philippines.
Thanks for watching - glad you enjoyed the videos. We will be back in Philippines starting January or February 2025. Between now and then we will post a few videos of adventures in Canada and some throw-back videos of past trips in Philippines. Wishing you the best of times on your Philippine travels!
Busy
Yes - preparing to go home is a busy time. When we arrive in Philippines we bring along a 50lb balikbayan box each full of pasalubong gifts for friends and family. When we head back to Canada we fill up those empty boxes with pasalubong for friends and family in Canada. The filling of the boxes is a fun and super busy time for sure.
Enjoyed this video. "Family Time" brings a different dynamic to the video and I liked it. The market and tricycle ride was wild and off the hook. What a hoot!
Ha ha we enjoyed that ride too! Thank you so much for all the positive comments - it keeps our energy high to make more videos. As always - glad you liked the video!
Hi uncle Jo..hi tita
Hi Gab! Say hi to the Bayanan Barkada for me and tita Cristy. Miss you all.
This beach is on my must go list. Thanks for the great video.
Baybay Beach and Roxas are super interesting. Baybay is a great beach. Not crowded. Lots of eateries. Good value and abundant accommodations. Fun city to walk around. And of course - friendly people.
How long have yah been a couple
We have been together for 35 years.
@joefoyvideos Beautiful 😍 my friend. Yah look like yah have that old couple vibe thats y i asked that question lol. Reminds me of my great grandma n my great grandpa. Keep those great vids coming
@@theghettotraveler347 Ha ha - yup. Cristina and I almost don't need to speak much. One look and we know what the other is thinking. We love to hear the other laugh though. Thank you for the kind words and encouragement - will keep vids coming for sure.
Now that is a definite island vibe. So cool!
We really love that place.
Do you live in bayanan muntinlupa?
Cristina and I live in Vancouver Canada. Cristina moved to Bayanan Muntinlupa from Pasay City back in 1975 - before emigrating to Vancouver Canada in the early '80s. We have family in Bayanan.
looks like you guys are having A GOOD TIME. . . .GOOD FOOD. . . GOOD SAVINGS. . . . .
Yes indeed - our entire trip around Philippines has been awesome - lot's of fun and great food and friendly people.
That's a motel with 3 hours limited rooms
Yes it is a motel with 3 hours limited rooms. Wish that was made clear on Booking.com 'cause had we known we never would have booked it.
That's not actually a family-friendly hotel, if you know what I mean. Most people go there for short-stays so they don't really care about it that much, they'll do their business and get on with it. That's why the staffs are complacent too.
Ha ha - we agree with you. But when you look on-line on Booking.com there is no way to tell it is not family-friendly. Until you arrive - but then its late and you have already paid. Our experience with Philippine accommodation over-all has been great. Hotels here are a super good value, clean and well run. Certainly better value than in our home country of Canada. Booking.com has been good too. Until this one time. Weird. Oh well. No harm done. Makes for a good travel story. And a lesson learned.
I've never seen someone feed their face as much as Cristina in 1 vlog. 😅
Ha ha - when life offers street green mango and bagoong or camote cue - we stop walking and start eating because you never know when or if you will pass this way again.
Divisoria is not for the faint-hearted, especially during Christmas Holiday. The rush, the hoard of people, the smell, the heat, but it is fun being there.
Agree with you! Divisoria is well worth experiencing. It is not always easy - but there is nothing like it in our home country of Canada.
Another very nice video and great sharing of "Surviving Manila traffic and Divisoria Market mayhem"... Full support as always! Good luck and best regards po/Ned 👍👏👍
is the parking space for car safe? w/ security personnel?
We do not travel by car in Philippines. We use bus or van or jeepney to travel between cities. The parking area at the Mamori Hotel in Allen looked safe to me. Some people who were staying there parked right in front of their room door. The parking area is very clean and well lighted and is situated between the building with the hotel rooms and the building with the staff and kitchen. I don't know about security personnel.
Wow! Thanks for the ridealong.
Perfectly timed ! A nice trip it appears.
Thanks for posting, Joe. I’m Australian and live in Imaga not far from Allen. I’m going to Sorsogon tomorrow, mainly to get some printing done. (Local printers 🖨️ not too good) Your video was helpful. Thanks - Daniel (TH-cam channel “Jesus explains”)
Thanks for letting us know that the video helped out. Wishing you good luck on your Sorsogon trip.
Memorable dining experience.
Looks like my kind of city. thanks!
It's a wonderful little city. Cool stuff around the region too. The Caramoan Peninsula is amazing - we visited there three years ago.
Very nice!
Great vid! Sorry about the tooth. ;-)
Glad you liked the vid! Cristina keeps trying to make me smile - even as I try not to.
I'm following along on Google maps. Looks like you have a good distance to go yet if it is all by bus. Carry on.
That is great you are following on Google maps. It's a good way to make sense of all the places we are visiting.
Amazing video🎉🎉 Love from India❤❤
Thanks for the kind words. Much appreciated!
Great video! Thanks again for sharing the adventure.
Really enjoyed seeing how this part of transportation works there.
Thank you for letting us know. Glad to know that the vlog was helpful.
I love samar we rebt a beach house cheap
We really want to spend more time exploring Samar on our next trip.
Oh the joys of vans
Hope there was a stop or two on that 6 hour bus ride. 😊
This particular bus ride was one of our longest - and with the fewest stops. A bad combination. Good thing we had some bananas and pandesal along for the ride. Crazed for food by the time we got to Allen.
Be safe and God bless
Salamat po
Great trip video sharing. Bon Voyage, full support as always & Good luck po/Ned 👏👍👏

Thanks for sharing that guys. Your fun to be wth. lol
It's really helpful for me as I'm from India planning to come to the Philippines 👍🏻. A request if you get time to vlog pls do a vlog on Isabel Ramiro street . ✨
Glad that the video was helpful to you. We are not in Iligan any more so can't make a vlog about Isabel Ramiro Street. I think we were very near that street when we got off the bus at the station - but we stayed in the hotel at the Robinson Mall which is not near Ramiro Street. We really enjoyed our stay in Iligan city - lots going on and lots of friendly people.
Where is this place?
Here is a link to Google Maps showing the location of our stay at Villa de Pico in Puerto Galera: maps.app.goo.gl/EfLMTXFUr6UXs5Hd8
