Being a TH-camr is very similar to running your own business. You should upload things people want to see, just like businessman should offer product/service that people need. Just re started my channel after a year of not uploading. Went from 100 subs to 700 in a month and an 1k hours from changing to more vlog and showing what i was doing. Just grinding to the 4k hours now
I can not emphasise enough that breaks are important. Especially if you work part or full time. If you're lucky enough that your parents or someone else supports you or you're on the dole, good for you but for many of us TH-cam, work a d life can burn you out and it's important to understand know when you need a break. Even if the hiatus is for a longer period.
Step 1: Understanding your audience (make content that resonates with your audience) Step 2: Finding Ideas (research what other content your audience is watching) Step 3: Groundwork (does your channel have a sustainable topic for a year and beyond) Step 4: Consistency (with engaging uploads)

Thanks for the help! As a new TH-camr this free info is appreciated. I have so many ideas but it’s hard to translate it to a great quality video. My last video was had the best browse feature recommendations. I couldn’t get many people to click though. My thumbnails suck. It’s not so much about consistency. It’s about building a video library so TH-cam understands the type of content you create so it can recommend your content to the appropriate audiences. The big video library also allows viewers to stay on platform longer viewing your other content which TH-cam loves.
I just hit 1000 subscribers, much of it thanks to what I learned from this channel. It’s wild and I honestly didn’t expect anyone to watch my vids. You all have definitely helped me along the way. Thanks for these informative videos!
Appreciate all the advice on this channel! I'm in the very early stages trying to implement this stuff, enjoying the process and hoping to see some traction soon. Good luck everyone!
Started my gaming channel almost 2 months ago and it’s definitely a grind, but also rewarding when you see the growth even if it’s 1 sub at a time. Don’t give up and just keep grinding.
I produce and edit content for other peoples channels and the hardest thing for me is getting them to apply all this stuff that you’ve mentioned. I’ve been harping on it for over a year now and they just don’t listen then complain when there isn’t growth. I’m over here like “THEN WHY NOT JUST TAKE MY ADVICE AND DO THE THINGS?” I can’t edit the quality content if the quality content isn’t there and planned prior to filming. I have this strong feeling now that if I had the time and energy to build a channel for myself that I’d do so much better than the half assed job I’m forced to do for these other people.

I have a question; is making shorts a good idea? I've heard things from "my views went down so bad and i have to start a new channel." to its helping me a ton.I make shorts in my nich should I keep going or stop doing it?
If you want to be primarily a longform channel, I wouldn’t do many shorts at all. It attracts a split audience. Usually when people subscribe to a channel because of a short, it’s because they want to see more *shorts* like it; it’s rare when people check out a channel’s longform videos because of a short, but TH-cam will notice those subscribers aren’t watching the longer videos, or if they are, it’s usually just the first couple minutes. Take the hours you would spend on shorts and use them to make your long videos better instead. A way to use shorts without harming your main channel though is to create an alternate channel just for shorts and a TikTok account for them too. Ideally, you can make accounts on Instagram and X as well, but TikTok would be the best place to start IMO.
Thanks VidIQ! Freediving / Spearing channel closing in on 1000 subs! Learned alot from your vids and livestreams! Been a rollercoaster ride so far, but I'm determined to make this a success!
It’s very unfortunate that a niche and audience is stuck one way. I am trying to start a gaming channel and I want to include a little bit of real life and some Pokemon card openings, but don’t have time to build up separate channels and post somewhat consistently. The editing takes up too much time for this, and I can’t afford one. So I’m trying to break the norm and run a channel that shows a variety of each. Every video is slowly becoming better than the last. I will try to work with this for a year and if nothing pops then I’ll see if it’s worth my time to just post at very slow rates. I’m just waiting for that one thing to catch and maybe focus more on it
Yea i started my channel 2 years ago doing IRL DIRTBIKE RIDING VIDS. Now i am doing a Gaming channel starter Jan 2nd 2024. Im enjoying doing it and growing at a decent rate. Just gotta keep going 💯
Have you found that TH-cam growth ebbs and flows? Like posting the same/similar video on an off day vs a “blessed” day the video performs differently? I have notice for my channel it is about a 24 hour cycle, up then down, high performance low performance. Am I up in the night or is there some validity to this?
Hi kirk, my frustrations ebbs & flows with TH-cam, to the point I think at times the numbers are made up. I've got shorts that have made thousands of views , for no reason , and others that have bombed totally. It's a roller coaster ride , and one that you want to be doing for your own reasons and not to become famous & wealthy , like Mr beast , but if it happens good luck😅

My question is how long should I keep posting my new series by me on my original channel before deciding wheter I should make a new channel just for that series in particular/more??
Very well said my friend. I have definitely learned that once you start to build an audience, the algorithm pushes it out to your subscribers and if they feed on it then it gets pushed out to a wider audience really quickly
Super small creator here, it sucks trying to become a content creator with a full time job. Recording, editing, and uploading takes too much time with being a full time adult.
This is an awesome reminder, my wife and I really do sometimes experience strain in our health and editing schedules even tend to create tense arguments between us. To all other creators out there, it is important to watch your own mental health. This is a marathon, not a sprint. ❤ We are celebrating our 2 year TH-cam anniversary next month! 🎉🎉
Great advice! I definitely need to start planning out my videos 😅 Thankfully it’s hard to run out of content when you’re farming, there’s always something crazy going on 😂

I started uploading a bit more consistently to my channel about tech reviews about 8 months ago and I've seen some small success but I am really enjoying this journey even if it's slow. So the most important thing is to enjoy what you are doing and you won't ever give up!
I got another idea. I quit caring about views and I just post stuff I like. Why? I don't want my channel being like every other channel on youtube. It's part of the problem with TH-cam now. I like being unique and I planned to stay that way.
Got serious about YT last month, only at 133 subs, but love seeing the growth no matter how slow the griwth is. Definitely enjoying it, the hustle is real lol. To all the small channels, we got this!
I’m new, first video launched last month and working on my 6th now. I am at 22 subscribers and I hope to get some growth. I have a lot to learn though. Thanks for the advice.
@@ManifestingShrink thank you! I just got a few good videos that did well! I stick to a weekly schedule and make sure to do 1 video every weekend. Some videos have taken me 15 hours to make and got me no subs. There’s ups and downs for sure but either way the trick is the keep doing. If you make a video that gets 100k views and 10k subs, the next thing to do is make another video. If you drop a video that doesn’t get a single view, the next thing to do it is make another video. We just have to keep going! And enjoy it! My best videos are the ones I enjoy the most lol

Currently working on my first video. I'm nervous on posting it but I'm close to finishing. My issue right now is overthinking. I find videos like yours that help me push forward. Thank you for the tips!
Started a year ago making memes, quit that 3 months ago, but back in December I went back to making videos and now I'm making Minecraft videos cause I didn't like reposting memes and now I'm making real content. These videos have been helping a lot, I started using the tips given and I went from 10-15 views a video to 25ish or more!
Not at 48 subs. Having a small technology channel and am now working on a review of the JBL Live 660nc, hopefully done by Sunday or maybe even tomorrow🙌🙌
I liked what you said about diet. Something about the idea of consistency for the sake of consistency feels wrong. In my case, my life has changed too much since I started my channel in 2020. The style of my old videos doesn't feel right in my current reality. I guess, I like the idea of having a channel, and I like the idea of TH-cam, but sometimes I feel that it's better to not upload anything than to upload something that would be... forced?
Im definitely on the verge of giving up. I haven’t been successful in creating a community or people who want to return to view. I’ve been trying for four years and I’m really burnt out now
I'm hoping this advice can help and I greatly appreciate your advice with helping many of us! My channel is strictly to help support unknown Metal bands but the more subscribers the more people can discover these bands that they might of never discovered.
step 4 is what I said to my friends who are mindlessly putting out content because they think the algorithm is a robot that wants to ki*l them and they never see an audience, they only see algorithm which btw , doesn't even EXIST!!!! it's only viewers and creators and there are no short cuts or rewards/punishments out of that, people want to see it and you put the effort into the QUALITY ? good, get more views than before, you only uploaded and it's a few mins later than your last post on the same day last week and youy think you are being punished by the algorithm ? get no views... It's ok though, some people never wanna dive in deeper than the surface, the same way they eat coke but they have avocados in their sandwich to "feel" good, they blame the system instead of their AWFUL videos to "feel" good
I recently started my TH-cam channel to showcase my talent in the world of arts. I had stopped painting for years due to depression, but I realized that painting could help me overcome it. So, what I did is I recorded myself painting and posted it on TH-cam as my content. It would be great to get my channel up to at least 1000 subscribers. This is going to be a long journey, but I won't give up on it.
thank you! I have 20k subs but totally stopped posting because I got discouraged. I teach visual effects and specific software and got scared to venture out. BUT I think I need to focus on what my audience REALLY wants

@OnegunkidYT awesome! Just subbed back. Gonna watch your videos when I get off work and get inspiration!
Thank you for this advice! As a new TH-camr, I found all of this very helpful! Oh, and good luck to all of the other new TH-camrs out there! We got this!
I started uploading a bit more consistently to my channel about tech reviews about 8 months ago and I've seen some small success but I am really enjoying this journey even if it's slow. So the most important thing is to enjoy what you are doing and you won't ever give up!
This is going to help me! I'm right now trying to start a 2nd channel so I might be able to apply this to my new channel!
I got another idea. I quit caring about views and I just post stuff I like. Why? I don't want my channel being like every other channel on youtube. It's part of the problem with TH-cam now. I like being unique and I planned to stay that way.
Cope
Got serious about YT last month, only at 133 subs, but love seeing the growth no matter how slow the griwth is. Definitely enjoying it, the hustle is real lol.
To all the small channels, we got this!
You were at 133 and you’re now at 1.4k? In 2 months? What’s your secret!!
Love from NYC. One of my videos is getting views and the rest are stuck below 50. Why?
I’m new, first video launched last month and working on my 6th now. I am at 22 subscribers and I hope to get some growth. I have a lot to learn though. Thanks for the advice.
22 to 1.5k in 3 months?! Amazing! What’s your secret?
@@ManifestingShrink thank you! I just got a few good videos that did well! I stick to a weekly schedule and make sure to do 1 video every weekend. Some videos have taken me 15 hours to make and got me no subs. There’s ups and downs for sure but either way the trick is the keep doing. If you make a video that gets 100k views and 10k subs, the next thing to do is make another video. If you drop a video that doesn’t get a single view, the next thing to do it is make another video. We just have to keep going! And enjoy it! My best videos are the ones I enjoy the most lol
There are alot of things to chang and do for your channel to hit 🎉
I subbed. 😊👍👍
I'm building the biggest Starship Enterprise in the world and just hit 16000 subscribers after 14 months of very hard work. I learned editing and the secrets to thumbnails and titles. Keep going!
I started 2 weeks ago after talking myself out of it for 10 years !!!! Just hit over 150 subscribers Thank you god and thank you all 🙌🏼🙏
Edit: 11/22/24
Almost at 1k guys ! Don’t give up
❤❤❤❤❤❤ 0:59
This is actually all really good advice! 👍
Keep up the good work guys 🤩📲
I subbed to you 🎉🎉🎉
Great video! I'm brand new and I have 3 videos and 1 short. They are messy, but each video has gotten better. ☺️ I definitely want to be successful with it. I'm trying to find the balance with it, family, and work.
Hey everyone! I've just started my TH-cam channel where I post gameplay from AAA video games. If you're into high-quality gaming content, please check it out! Don't forget to like and subscribe if you enjoy it. Your support means a lot!😃💪
I really do appreciate you guys so much💓🥹 I'm learning SO much and inspired more than ever! Gonna make it happen and I definitely want a SERIOUS relationship with TH-cam 😫🙌🏽
These are the kind of videos that actually help me❤
This is my first ever TH-cam channel and to everyone just starting keep going !!
Very informative. Thank you for sharing your four strategies. Have a great day. 🎉😊👍446 likes
Currently working on my first video. I'm nervous on posting it but I'm close to finishing. My issue right now is overthinking. I find videos like yours that help me push forward. Thank you for the tips!
This video is great! I just started my small gaming channel a month ago! Thanks for the tips! Never give up!
You now have 49 subs because I subbed to you 🎉🎉🎉
@@happycorn3r Video is out now
I also just started, I'm having a ton of fun with it, and I'm hoping to grow and continue to simply have fun!
I’ve been trying for four years and I’m really burnt out now
Don't give up! We believe in you!
I'm hoping this advice can help and I greatly appreciate your advice with helping many of us! My channel is strictly to help support unknown Metal bands but the more subscribers the more people can discover these bands that they might of never discovered.
Hey there, I subbed to you 🎉🎉🎉
step 4 is what I said to my friends who are mindlessly putting out content because they think the algorithm is a robot that wants to ki*l them and they never see an audience, they only see algorithm which btw , doesn't even EXIST!!!! it's only viewers and creators and there are no short cuts or rewards/punishments out of that, people want to see it and you put the effort into the QUALITY ? good, get more views than before, you only uploaded and it's a few mins later than your last post on the same day last week and youy think you are being punished by the algorithm ? get no views...
As a new gaming channel I really appreciate you sharing this information ! Great video as always. Time to apply it and do my best for the audience 🙏🎮
thank you! I have 20k subs but totally stopped posting because I got discouraged. I teach visual effects and specific software and got scared to venture out. BUT I think I need to focus on what my audience REALLY wants
This is the first video I saw when I wanted to start a youtube channel. Then after 50 videos in different topics such as scripting, music, hooks etc. I came back to this one and it is like an encapsulation of everything!
Just about to hit 100 subscribers after just over a month and 27 shorts🙌 planning on taking some ideas from some of my favorite creators and change my content soon which will hopefully get a little more reach🤞
Good luck to all of you just starting out✌️ from South Africa 🌍
Thanks again for another banger guide. Im fully confident in the eventual success of my channel, thanks to hard work and advice from folks like you
Actually Accidentally Deleted My Channel With 17k Subs Yesterday. But I Was Able Yo Get It Back!
good luck out there guys !!!!
Thanks you too! I subbed! 🎉
Step 1. Find an audience
Step 2. Make content they want to see
Step 3. .... what was step 1 again?
Step 4.... um... make content????
Step 5... be consistent... with what I don't know
Step 6, success!!!! 😂
Let's go! Never give up. Thanks for the awesome tips
I hope to succeed thanks to you 😅
Amazing advice. Will try make changes to my channels to reflect that. Thank you.
Almost at 500! Will keep going! Great Video! Just started as well!
Thanks for the nice content ❤
The person who is reading this, don't give up on your channel. Keep it going and u will get there.
I myself created my Art Channel 5 weeks ago and working so hard on it. ❤
I’ve watched countless “grow on yt” vids and this is easily one of the best I’ve ever seen.
Head up and don't give up.
This video was very informative and helpful. I want to be there for my audience.
Started a channel 8 months ago. Just trying to have fun and stay positive with it.
To all the small TH-camrs out there: don’t give up! Every big channel started with zero subscribers. Stay consistent, keep creating content you love, and trust the process. Your voice matters, and someone out there needs to hear it. Success takes time, but every step forward is progress. Keep going-you’ve got this!
Don't misunderstand me: These videos are GREAT, but they are just portraying the same message in different wrapping . . .
Kadam kadam bhadhaye jaa, rakh hosla ,tujhe waqt badalna hai 🙌🙌🙌 Thankue 300 subsscribers
Started a TH-cam channel last year March and in December i quit my toxic job. I have come to realize that growing a TH-cam channel is hard. I have 106 subscribers and i am hoping to get to 200 this month therefore thank you for sharing this video because giving up is not an option
