    Love my sp2022, comparatively light, nice capacity, and dependable. At 6’3” and 230 I have no problem with it’s concealability as an EDC. For the price... you can’t beat it!

    All the haters can pound sand. The Sig SP2022 is a great gun. It upholds Sig Sauer's great reputation. We have two of these guns in our family and are excellent and ready for combat. Over 1200 rounds through mine during defensive / combat trainings over the last year and not a single problem and is an accurate gun.

    With so many polymer framed pistols out there, let me tell you why this is the best.
    1. External hammer
    2. manual de-cock
    3. no safety
    You just load it and rack the slide and de-cock. At this point it's like a revolver with 15 rounds except it goes SA after the first round fired.

    This was my first pistol I've ever owned. For $399 nib, you just cant beat it. I 100% agree with every point you made. I think you should have made the point that it has interchangable grips as well. HUGE pro for me and my large hands. I will also say that I have fed around 1k rounds through it and only a couple failure to ejects. I also like how easy it is to field strip and clean. My #1 gripe is that accessories are very hard to come by.

    Bless me Father, for I am a SIG-Sauer addict. That being said, my confession should come as something of a shock to the gentle reader. I picked up a 2022 (used, $400, 2 mags, case and papers) and was just the happiest guy. Then it got kinky. I took the little bastard to the range and fed it a mixed diet of reloads and the tupperware wonder just ate them all. Cast, jacketed, it just did not matter. The issue that I had was the grouping. The new kid had charisma, but little grace...

    Got a lightly used one in 9mm for $380 out the door from a local pawn shop in January 2019. Basically it shoots like my p220 but the ammo is much cheaper. Yes, it's too chunky to conceal carry, but it's a duty weapon, home defense gun, or range gun.

    Sigs are known for having a "HIGH" bore axis..Not a low bore axis like you said in your video..

    • @nelsonstephen20
      @nelsonstephen20 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No they have a low bore axis, meaning that the line in which your hand sits, in relation to the bore is low. In the case of the Glock, the line which your hand sits is closer to the line where the bore sits, meaning it has a higher bore axis.

    The SP2022 is in reality the "new and improved" P-228. It's the same size, same bulk, and control system, only less expensive than the -228. The SP2022 has four, rather thick and bold slide rails to handle slide movement, and the only "unSIGlike" issue I can find is the need to pop out the slide stop to remove the slide-barrel assembly versus super convenient rotating lever on the P-series. I love the "sand-paper" texture grips, and the smaller grip that fits perfect...even better than my P-228 and P-229, both with the E2 grip.

    Excellent review. I had never heard of the SP2022 until recently when I saw a used one in a pawn shop for under $250. I did some quick research and headed back that afternoon to buy it. I prefer the way this feels in the hand over my Ruger P95, and Beretta PX4 Storm (both of which I love). I agree that SIG got it right with the grip surface too. All around sweet gun.

    I've owned my SP2022 for several years now. Purchased for $599 (In California, hence the higher price) and I love it. I've been a SIG fan since I was 9 years old and was first introduced to hand guns.
    Mines chambered in .40 S&W and therefore does NOT have the traditional LCI, however on the right side of the chamber IS a small slot where, in decent lighting, you can see if a round is chambered or not.
    I bought mine with night sights. This gun really does get a bad rap. The poly frame makes for a little more recoil (which is to be expected with the weight drop) but any good shooter who practices will develop the muscle memory and learn to adapt to the recoil.
    The only two things I'm not a fan of: 1. the grips. But that's just a personal thing for me and you get used to them. There are some alternatives out there to cope with this, but they're few and far between which brings me to my other down side.. 2. Lack of "support" for lack of a better term. Since the SP2022 isn't THE Sig gun (It ain't the 226 or 229) there aren't a lot of ready made options for it such as holsters, replacement grips, etc. I was able to find a Blackhawk stage 1 Serpa for it, and SIG's website DOES offer a few retention holsters, but if you want to get someone that'll handle accessories, it'll most likely have to be custom made. (I mount a TLR 3 on it on occasion and have to use a generic leg system to carry it. I live in an Open Carry state)
    Overall, despite the couple of short comings I've not been too fond of, I LOVE My SP2022. I carry it every day. I've put 12,000+ rounds through it and every round has gone off and hit the target. I can group consistently 3-4" at 25+ yards. Reloading is a breeze with the well placed mag release. (My reload time is less than 1 second if I'm focused on it and pulling from a mag holder, maybe a full second if pulling from my back pocket).
    Overall, just because the gun has a poly frame and has a few short comings you're still getting the SIG quality in an affordable hand gun. But the bottom line is it ain't for everyone. Go to your local range and see if they have one to rent. You'll either like it or you won't. That being said, everyone who has fired mine has fallen in love with it, and I know 2 people who went out and bought one after firing mine. :)

      @jackal9188 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I own the SP2022 for over a year and I'm quite happy with it. But from my experience, if you run with the "thumbs forward" grip on this gun like I do and let your thumb ride on the slide stop, it tends to not lock back. But shooting it after a while you'll get the feel for it on how to hold it, where I don't let my thumb rest on the slide stop. Hope that helps.

    maybe I got a really good one but while qualifying for my permit I had a friend loan me his. I'd never shot one before,hell I'd never heard of one. it was brand new in the box. The first round (of three) I hit a 226 out of a possible 240. The second round i hit 238. The final was a perfect 240. The only problem I had was a few f.t.e's on the first round,but a generous dose of ballistol and a wipe down took care of that. far as I'm concerned any criticism of this piece has to be taken at it's source. It IS a Sig after all. Thanks.

      I Garcia I went to Turner’s outdoorsman and they sell the sp2022 with Sig night sights. So with the DOJ/DOA applications, taxes, and price of the firearm. The total about came out to be $700.75.

      I Garcia I ordered it on June 13, 2020 and my firearm still hasn’t been made by Sig Sauer. Turner’s said they’ll call me within 2-3 months but that’s passed. So I’m think I’ll get it within 2 more months.

    Greetings Brotha I love this weapon as well... The only Negs I have on it is that the Hammer seems like it has a strange play in it when fired. AND of course SIG prices for extra MAGs are crazy... Other than that I haven't had any problems or failures to feed or fire, and I do CCW with this weapon when I wanna cheat on my Glock or SW40c...

    glock? please make it stop.....and as said before, the sig sp2022 has a high bore axis, where as a 1911 or CZ would be low.

    Outstanding gun for the $$. Resting your thumb on the slide release greatly increases the odds (pretty much every time) of the slide not locking back after firing the last round.

    I own a Sig pro and I love it. I mean love it, I put it up against any doubt action only xd or block. I don't see for how the money one could do any better. Just my two cents but great video and I think in another 20years this gun is going to have a huge following. It is a beast when it comes to build quality. Hey any SS for under a stack is a good buy in my opinion so one for under 700 is a steal bastard child or not. Again great video !

    Even though this is. Sig SP 2022 review it would have proved the quality of it if you discussed a side by side comparison wirh the Glock G19. Feature by feature. You might have come out with a Tie, or even a Sig winner?🏆. Do a revisit now in 2024. Keep your delivery slow and mature. 👍👍👍👍👍

    Honestly though, they can't really be die-hard SiG Sauer fans if they can't appreciate or understand the benefits of this weapon system as an improvement in cost, functionality, & overall reliability over the P226's/P229's, etc. on which it is based. It was also the last firearm that 'SiG' in Switzerland deleloped & produced in Neuhausen am Rheinfalls, the factory in which Swiss Military Firearms are produced & it was to be their final hurrah before selling all of their arms producing rights to outside investors from Germany & The U.S.A. in the year 2000, where it became the SP2022 M1913 rail-equipped version it is today, so in essence it is kind of the best of the last of the old school traditional SiGARMS, yet at the same time eventually becoming the cool & hip Grandfather of all modern day SiG's.

    Only idiots put that much finger on the trigger !!! Period !! I paid $370 with box, 3 mags and holster !!! Also , don't pay $40 for sig mags, buy Mec Gar mags because they actually make the Sig mags anyways without the price !!! Get the Mec Gar plus 2 mag , which holds 17 and fits perfectly, so you get 17 + 1 capability for $29.99 at Gunmagwarehouse.com

    I just bought this today. Now I have to wait for 10-16 days til I can pick it up because the state is having problems with the processing all the gun purchases. Hopefully no criminals that were released from prison try to break into my house before I can pick up my gun and be able to defend my wife and I. Good ol Cali .
