Yeah, I remember my parents dancing to this in the living room a lot (And me, too!) . We black people had many FM indie radio stations back then in L.A and N.Y,-- songs like this were regular rotation. No, my skinny behind is NOT dancin' with any of da Butt Sistas--U see what happened to Joe Tex?! Let da Troglodytes have 'em!

yes, "novelty" songs are meant to be fun, a bit out there and not taken seriously!
Two that come to mind are Steve Martin- "King Tut" and Ray Stevens- "The Streak". Anyone remember those?
