I have a complete Sonos system throughout our house and overall have really liked it. My main complaint is the Amazon implementation is quite poor and continually has issues and requires reset often. So, I'm fine with our new Roam SL since the Amazon implementation is poor anyway and I'm not too concerned about Trueplay for a portable speaker. I purposely didn't want Amazon voice control so it was a not brainer when the SL went on sale with an additional 20% off. I really like the Bluetooth capability as well. Looking forward to using this versatile little speaker.
I have the OG Roam and think it’s worth the extra £20 for the added flexibility. I wasn’t too impressed at first with the Roam but i’m glad I kept it because it’s gotten much much better with subsequent updates.
I think Sonos made a mistake on price with these speakers. Google and Amazon dominate the under $100 Bluetooth speaker market. Then you have Bose and JBL who make good speakers for over $100. The Sonos Roam is a good speaker and I own one but it's not the best at anything. It's not loud, sound quality is solid but not special, and battery life is weak. My JBL charge costs the same as the Roam and gets 20 hours battery life and gets twice as loud. I like Sonos but portable speakers isn't their niche
I think the $20+ for auto trueplay is worth it alone but the Sonos roam is overpriced in general considering it’s current competition. It may pack more features but I can overlook those from sound quality from the competition
I agree. don't want to sound flash but what's an extra £20? Cant see a huge amount of interest and don't even see why this is a 'thing' that needs a separate product for. Just buy the Roam and mute the mic.
Hello Smart, I watched your old video that you talked about jbl Bluetooth speaker I'm planning to buy between Jbl flip 5 or charge 4, but I'm confused. I would like to know which one has the most deep sound or clean sound, I don't care about their price, size, connect plus or not, loudness, power bank, e.t.c. What I just want is deep sound and i will use it in my room only. Please I need a respond thanks.
I was hoping it pairs with the Sonos ARC so I can hang it up on the ceiling to make it’s my height Chanel speak. Now I’m disappointed, it’s worthless to me now.
I don't think the SL is really for privacy reasons. Not everyone wants to use the voice control and the extra cash saved can be used to buy the power charger, put towards a second speaker, or buy the wireless charger. (Your second speaker wouldn't need voice control for stereo pairing.)
Bit of a no brainer spending all that money then skimping 20 quid for the added benefit of a microphone/voice control/Trueplay. Crazy really just get the one with a mic you'll only regret it if you don't...... IMHO.

I think it’s for the more privacy centric customers.
Trueplay is major feature in Sonos system but it’s only significant indoor only. Place Roam in bathroom and trueplay work very obvious
Thanks for your great presentation hi
Can you pls suggest me any other portable Bluetooth speaker I want for my laptop
I thought the cheapest way of adding rear speakers to the Sonos soundbars were the IKEA bookshelf speakers ;-)
You can't use the roam as surrounds to Sonos soundbars.
Too bad the SL is available only in black and silver. Would have loved that orangy red. How do you cut the power to the mic on the normal Roam?
Great content 🙌

Do any Sonos or comparable small portables act as a battery bank from which you can recharge you phone from (say at the beach)

Does Roam SL have manual Truplay?
Could be nice for 2/3 the price, .but. ..20 GBP? Come on. ..

Can the Sanos Roam be used as a speaker for a say a 27" tv that does not have Blue Tooth
No.

Can I use the S1 app? Have lots of legacy components.
Can I connect this as a home theater with my arc and sub ??instead of the one SL’s
Hi Clifford, unfortunately this is not possible at the moment. We are hoping it may come in the future via a software update.
Great
Poor downgrade IMHO. Worth the extra as you can always turn mics off if needed.

What's the point.
There isn't 😟
Bruh where's the headphones, the rear upfiring surrounds, the mini sub...this counts as 1 of 2 product launches this year!
I know - we're desperate for these too!
It’s only $10 cheaper? Why is this even a product? You can turn off the microphone in software in the normal roam.
For people who don’t want a microphone function. Like myself I don’t use voice controls anywhere so $10 cheaper is good for my haha.
Why is it muting his voice when he says Amazon a-xa?
A lot of our viewers have Alexa devices at home so it's to prevent my voice from activating them in your own homes :)
Why this speaker Sonos wtf we want a new play 3 or rear speakers with upfigering speakers

20 pounds, no need to test, just pay ! 😄
Bruh. 10 mins to answer that question?
