Just got a Kawasaki bayou 250 hard to find cheap parts for it might just make it a 220 instead but it cranks right up but smokes like hell gonna rebuild it this weekend, I only paid $120 for it
@@rolandsgarage8640 I made this mistake of taking my chain off before in bolting the gear. Should I just find a way to hold the gear still and unbolt it? Is the bolt standard rotation?(lefty loosely)
I have the exact same 4 wheeler that needs the same repair. Do you have part numbers for the parts you used. And did you have to do anything to the valves. Or was it just the piston rings causing low compression

Ebay. I'm pretty sure the 220/250 top ends are the same
It’s been two years, but if you see this, please tell me what topping kit you found
How do I remove the cam gear?? Great videos, thanks
Once you take the bolt out, the gear will come off. It may take some wiggling back and forth. But it will come off

The bolt should be a 12mm if I'm not mistaken. Easiest thing to do is use an impact. And yes it's standard rotation
@@rolandsgarage8640 thank you, that helps a lot

I don't remember the part numbers. And I'm pretty sure I took the valves out and inspected them and put new one new valve seals
What happens if I didn’t center the engine before removal 😞
You will just have to put the cam up before you reinstall everything
Where did you get the top end kit and hiw much was it??
More than likely it was an eBay or Amazon kit for around 50 bucks or so.
My crank.shaft keep jamming i have to use a pry bar to free it up now she won't start what can be the problem??
Probably a bad bearing on the crankshaft. You're gonna have to split the case in half
@@rolandsgarage8640 thanks
Before she got stuck she started but each time I take my finger off the push start button she keeps outing and thats when she got stuck
@@damienbassue9355 that might just be the starter binding. Take it off and try the pull start
When timing the bike the valve suppose to be open or closed or it doesn't matter??
