Bro you literally the best teacher on TH-cam. All those advertisements I get on YT talking about how you can’t become good on guitar watching videos from TH-cam is all BS because your Chanel exist.
I recall some advice Guthrie Govan gave when asked how to solo. He said to not always resolve on the root note. As you said Stitch, use the other chord tones. This a great video!
HOW? How is it possible that, after trawling the internet for hour after literal hour, can 1 lesson make sense of so many different aspects of guitar playing!? Wonderful lesson making clear sense of phrasing! Thank you so much. Instant fan!
Been watching StichMethod vids during the lockdown and my basic Blues Theory has been enormously enhanced. Have progressed from an open-chord CFG, ADE player into a completely new universe of fun. Thank you so much!
Before music comes the soul, and although I don’t know this man in person, he seems like one of the good guys. Which in addition makes him a great player and teacher. Thank you.
As always, great lesson and well explained! Also loving the added features to the videos. Such as zooming in on fret hand, the words scrolling on further explaining and of course your daughters pic!!! To everyone else reading this.. if you are not a patron member you are really missing out. I quit the $25 a week half hour lessons, quit buying memberships to guitar sites etc etc. $15 a month gets you more than you need. And me personally, nobody else explains this stuff in such in Easy way to understand..
I'm giving your dad many likes and thanks! This pretty much sums where I'm at, as I've been phrasing over the pentatonic scale by ear for a while now and pretty much explains what I've been trying to do
Slide and land. Bend and resolve. Speed up and nail it. Stitch I'm not your best student. But I want to thank you very much for your help. You Reach Me. Nice bite-size lessons. Thank you
What I hear more than anything else is you just simply taking your time, like you're telling a story. Nobody would want to listen to a guy talk if he speed rapped like a tobacco auction and yelled at the top of his lungs all the time. Those things are dramatic devices, and they're very effective if used sparingly. The same goes for a whisper or a dramatic pause for effect. What it comes down to is having some idea of what you want to do before you start. What you have shown here is a very real and tangible way of getting there, taking the abstract and giving it form. Very nicely done!
Love this. Your intro - the up and down the pentatonic solo...that’s me! I can play songs and run those solos and such. But when I try to do my own, I freeze and seem to just play the pentatonic. So this video is great and I’ll add it to another video of yours, how to create a solo - play a lick, play a similar version with a note different, repeat the original lick and then have a fun solo lick. Thanks for making great lessons that make sense and help us become better musicians!
Approaching the tarmac...beautiful analogy. Like you were talking directly to me as I prepare to upload another solo. Losing count of Deja Vu moments during guitar journey.
I been watching so many of these videos so I feel like I'm learning a ton but I'm still not really practicing because I hate how I sound. I think this video is perfect for what I was looking for. I don't want my scales to sound like scale practice anymore
Hey Stich-man...just a note to say thanks for the lessons with Sean on soloing with confidence. Great lessons and I really enjoyed the stichism's and Seanism's.....keep rockin.
This lesson is genius!!!! And it’s exactly what I needed, as I am really choppy hitting chord tones on strong beats. I tried this, and the timing was automatically there!
I subconsciously clicked the like because of the artwork ... fortunately I really did like it! Thanks ... I’m very new (found you via Sean D), and my Pentatonics sound like erm boring pentatonics ... thank you for this 😊
Never been this early. Love your channel and your videos have helped me progress through guitar for 2 and a half Years now. I started around Christmas in 2017 and I just sent one of your videos to a friend who’s learning because of how much it helped. Keep up the good work!
Hey there thanks for all the amazing videos. I'm trying to find the video where you give some options for licks (might even be arpeggios) transitioning from common chords ... I remember there being a great " E to A " or vice versa. I dove into the caged masterclass first and now I can't find those other videos. Any helps navigation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again. Ps you remind me of my deadhead buddy who looks just like you , his name is Ian as well.
Hey! Thanks for all the great videos. You taught me a lot so far :) Now I was wondering what brand of your guitar is? I saw you playing several beautiful PH guitars. But I did not find them anywhere. Very appreciated. :)
My issue is playing too much with speed, playing too many fast notes, it loses the soul (good for metal but that's not what I'm after) I've never thought about saving those fast runs right before the resolve 👍👍👍 good stuff thank you!

I enjoyed the artwork in the background
😂
It’d make a great t-shirt.
Me too. I have absolutely never liked a video before. Never ever. I pressed like and now I feel good. Thank you stitch jr
Okay this guy plays and teaches his ass off and you mention the art in the background... 😂 love you guys both, learn a lot
Love the Kids artwork 🖼

Gald to see you back to teaching and hope you and your family are doing ok despite your loss
This man is teaching me a lot and I'm learning a lot he is so underrated youtube teacher
Yes, Ian this lesson makes the sole more sound like music instead of just like dry mechanical pentatonic.
Cheers from Indonesia.
I hope you’re doing better now, man. I’m a long time follower of your channel, and owe you a lot.
Doing just fine. Thanks for enjoying the channel
@@StichMethodGuitar same here early sub cheers from Canada.

Of course, but they won’t appear as much
Very true. Thanks for the solid instruction as always.
