Hey boss, you brought up negative comments twice so I just want to toss my hat into the ring and say a bad person doesn't raise money to buy a friend a home or buy an authentic disney cell and find the homeless man and give him a larger share of the profits. Don't let negative comments get to you because the receipts are there that you have great intentions.
Forget the haters. I can’t believe people say the things they do. I have watched you and yours for years and I KNOW that you are one of the kindest , most generous, most thoughtful and caring people I’ve ever known (online or otherwise). I think it is great that you donate to charities that can use the items you are not looking for. You share your good luck by helping other people all the time. So generous of you. Resale is a touch business and you are a pro. Love your videos. You find such fun and interesting items. A surprise find almost every day. Love to you and Melissa.
Patrick was correct. You both worked hard to do all of that in 8 days. It was stuffed to the ceiling. Thank you for your contributions for those that need things.
I am working on decluttering so I admire you for taking on other people 's clutter and interested in how you decide how to tackle it and make decisions, and how things turn out financially. I noticed you do thoughtful things with unusually sentimental things and for other people. Thank you for the way you do things!
Making a comment because I don’t want you to EVER lose your positivity! Thanks to Patrick and great to see Josh. Josh is a character that brings light to your show!
I just want to say that I appreciate how respectful you are when emptying a hoarder house. I have had a lot of people I love dearly who are hoarders. It is a sickness, and I love that you don't ridicule them for it. Thank you Alex.
Just started watching this episode when I noticed the comments. Coming from a 60 year old I have noticed that a lot of people are so insecure and when they see someone doing well they are going to try and bust your balls, some can't stand it when others do well, here in Australia we call it The Tall Poppy Syndrome, or knockers. Honey you ate doing OK. It takes courage, immense courage to do what you do and I hope you do well as you work so hard. Your ramblings I love, it's like a friend talking to me and sharing their life and work with me. It also helps that you are also a fine looking lad, like Elvis in his much younger days and that accent. It also shows how much you love your family and the joy they have at what you do. Please ignore the haters….those of us who been watching a long time know how hard a worker you are! Thank you for sharing your life with us! You and your lovely family deserve everything good in life! Light and love and peace!
Hi Alex! I missed the live but am glad to be watching on playback. If anyone took a picture of Josh as you on Halloween, I know many of us would LOVE to see it if possible! Don't they say that imitation is the highest form of flattery?! LOL Yep, I'd go with that one!
Yes, Joshua Alexander TH-cam, under Live Q&A dated 10/31 you will see Josh dressed as Alex. His impression of Alex; hair, leather jacket, red sneakers etc. At the end of video he say “Bye for now”. Very cute.
You are a fantastically interesting, brilliant, knowledgeable, good-hearted, funny, perceptive person and I am loving your videos--and of course following your course as you sort and unpack and move and work your a** off generally to do this fascinating work that NEVER BORES! I have no idea what unkind things might have been said about you and will not read them but I say "Pshaw!!" --let fools run by you, most of them probably envious of you.... Sort on! Strive on! You are so much danged fun to watch!!
I just stumbled across one of your videos and found myself enthralled with your adventure. I have watched the Potter's House series and found myself crying over you giving Mary her last wish and the grand send off. I felt that you had the kindest heart and what you do for people when you go into these homes to clear them out. I took care of my father the last 7 years he was alive. When he died I was left trying to sort through everything and not knowing what I was going to do with all of that stuff. I could have only wished that I could have had some one like you to help me deal with that. Someone who has never had to deal with a situation like that would never understand that what you do is of value. Here's the kicker, I paid a junk removal service to deal with all of the things left at the house. Bless you for all that you do!
Don't let the naysayers bother you. You are one of the kindest hard-working persons I've seen on TH-cam. Anyone who's subscribed to your channel knows this. By far one of my favorites on TH-cam.
For every person who has negative things to say, know that there are a whole bunch of us who admire your work ethic, family values, kindness and sense of fair "play". You and your family have good hearts and we really, really like you!
Anyone trying to tell someone how to run their business, hobby, life’s calling, etc., are nothing but “cyber quarterbacks”(instead of Monday-morning quarterbacks). Keep doing YOU, Alex; you’ve been doing what you do for a long time. Take care.
I've been laughing at Josh's "I'm just taking out this PERFECTLY GOOD LUMBER YOU THREW AWAY" comment since I watched that video a few days ago 😂😂 good to see him back and loved his You costume lol. Best wishes from Ireland 🇮🇪
Don't pay any attention to the Negative Nellies! You and Melissa are my favorite You Tubers because you are just genuinely a nice, decent, and kind person. I think many Canadians are like you.
As a fledgling hoarder due to depression (and not wanting to become a full blown hoarder) I really enjoy watching your hoarder house series. For one, it reminds me of what I DON'T want to become, it also helps me let go of weird, random items (most of my hoard) because out there somewhere is somebody who will actually use it. So Thank-you Alex for your 'ramblings' and your continued explanations of where things are going and why. They help people feel connected, teach/role model compassion, recycling and respect for people and the environment.
I hope you will film the China Look Through. I can enjoy myself with patterns and sets for ages. Let Melissa film it too perhaps? I don't wanna miss thiiiiis! I've already completley missed the furniture auction, and I so wanted to look at it all again, it went by so fast! Ps: Josh is right, we DO want to *see* the work!! Can you place an overview camera so that you can at least capture that part too? You don't have to hold that, right? 🥰 Also, I am VERY grateful for the content you share, even if I have wishes and hopes and if I get annoyed I hope you will never take on my feelings as your own. Your content makes me feel a lot! From happy to sad and back again! I enjoy coming along on your journey, and I truly hope you stay close to yourself and your family and NEVER take our emotions on as yours.
After we started clearing out my grandparent's house, a couple days in, we learned of auctioning everything including the house. First thing the auctioneer told us is - don't throw another thing out and to let them go through things. Best idea ever. After we got everything out of my parents house we wanted, we called in the auctioneers to determine trash and treasurers.
I love how you film - it feels like we are grabbing & unwrapping the items ourselves. It amazes me that you do it with no gloves and hold the camera with one hand so you have no back up hand if there's a big spider or other gross surprise! I also love all the dust that you can see on your camera shots. It literally feels like we are there with you. One cool idea would be to set up a tripod and get a wide shot but then speed it up so we can really appreciate all the work you are doing. And YES - show the auction house - that would be SO interesting to see the process.
I can't believe you got through all of that in only 8 days!!! That is just amazing. Everytime you do these I'm shocked. The toy warehouse was crazy fast too.
You are a very kind and practical person. I love that you give your family and friends first crack at the clothing and stuff. You know the value of keeping the things you need. I really like the vibes you give out.
We need more Alex's in this world no justification required end of! Love your format and content. Your family and you are what's right in this world. Your channel is better than any TV, best wishes from the UK.
I know what it was like closing down my mom's house and a) she wasn't a hoarder b)she'd already started paring what she did have down - they did have a big house, 2 garages tack house (horse stalls, office, etc) and a barn. I'd go work, feel like I'd gotten a lot done and go home. Go back next day, walk in and realize we hadn't made a dent. It is exhausting but I have really enjoyed seeing all the things you've found - I hope your sales all go well, thanks for taking us along for the ride!
I can’t believe people have to be so critical of you.Last time I checked, it’s your channel and doing what you do. The filming is an extra and it’s for our entertainment. So with that said, THANK YOU ALEX! Thank you for bothering to provide us with the entertainment, that’s what it is to the majority of your viewers. The rest can go pound sand!
I absolutely FREAKED OUT when I saw the zeppelin piece. I’m 35 and I’ve been obsessed with zeppelins since the 3rd grade (seriously, I made a circuit board and wrote a bound report about them in Ms. Bartlett’s 3rd grade class (which I also still have)). I have 24 books about them, 3 models I’ve built, 2 Italian- made prints, 3 replica tin models, and 2 Christmas ornaments. I can tell you the exact length of the Hindenburg and could spend literal hours just excitedly discussing their history, specs, crash and mortality rate, and the complicated history of American helium production and how the political climate of the 1930s exacerbated the tragedy of the Hindenburg. I wish So Badly I could somehow call dibs on that zeppelin piece, but I totally get how cool it is and I am so glad you respect how cool it is, too! Sorry for the Ted Talk, but lawdy lawdy what a find. I would die to have an actual piece of a rigid dirigible.
I am your polar opposite! I am freaked out by zeppelins and would hide in the car when I was little and cry if there was one flying (I live in Indiana so they always fly around during the Indianapolis 500). I even developed a fear of water towers because they are big and scary like zeppelins. I think someone would have to be out of their mind to ride in one! 😅
Alex, some people are always going to think the worst. We all know you are a really caring, understanding young man. Do not even give those comments your precious time. My Son Brandon worked with you and he said you are a great guy! :) When I saw what you did for Hans, and other things you have done, the care you take with the precious memories of these people is second to none. You just take care of you and your family, and we will watch you and send our blessings! 😌😌😌
You are a beautiful caring lovely family , love the hoarder house videos , and you give back anything you think is important to family etc. Such hard worker Alex ! Blessings to you and your family 🥰
I have enjoyed your channel for 2 years! First comment from me. I started viewing at the Potters house series. Your adventures bring so much satisfaction and good wholesome entertainment. I have nearly refrained totally from watching the network’s fare as I much prefer the TH-cam videos. Your channel is one of my favorites and I smile at your humor and your success! Best wishes to you, Melissa and the kids! I can hardly wait for the last two episodes at the Haunted Hoarder House! 😳
Eight days must be a record for the fastest clean out by two people! And I love the silly voices you make. You’re such a fun soul. Hope you double your money!
I agree with your comment about the bittersweet feelings for doing this. My Mom used to do estate sales, and I helped her out at times. I always felt so intrusive gong through people’s things after they passed. Yes it needs to be done, but a strange feeling.
The integrity and character of both you and your wife are evident in your actions from helping a homeless man get a home etc.. , to the community where you live and communities where the homes are located that your donations help. Just ignore the negativity. I'm glad you had Patrick with you. Not only is he a great friend and very hard worker, but when traveling it's good to have backup and not solo on the road for safety issues.
I’m going to recommend the book The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning to anyone who has things that need attention from those who are managing their estate. It’s a beautiful way to start clearing out possessions for those who are struggling with hoarding. My family is a family of hoarders and I struggle with those tendencies myself. I hope that sharing my experience might help others in time. I’m unable to follow the Marie Kondo method but I have tried. ❤ Thank you Alex for your service in showing the value of things that people have collected and the gentlemanly way you speak of them.
Yes! My husband and are 51 and have started the process of Swedish Death Cleaning. We aren’t hoarders (maybe a little), but we raised 2 children and worked more that 40 hrs a week. Probably closer to 60 hrs (isn’t America great?). Anyway, we chose to spend time with our children rather than spend weekends cleaning. Now is a good time to do it as they are in their early 20s.
@@chasetonga It’s a great way to deal with things, especially if you’re able to talk with your people about things like this. There’s a lovely TH-cam channel that featured the book and that’s how I found it. I’m glad you are able to do this now and not leave it out there without having direction on what you want or where things go. It’s better to do it now because you never know.
I’ve been watching for years now and I’d just like to say hearing you talk about your kids in any episode is always so wholesome. They’re very lucky to have you and your wonderful wife as parents. Your all a very rare light and I really appreciate your channel😊
You put out such fun content for the world to consume - way better than most "professional" shows. Most of us love that you do what you do, we would like you to continue with exactly what you are doing because you bring joy to our lives. Wish there were more positive people like you out there to make this world a brighter place to live.
I believe, right around the Potter house videos, they were approached about doing a show. I'm so glad that they didn't do it because the show/production crew totally mess up the way you act and do things. I wouldn't want anyone even trying to change our Alex & Melissa!!
Alex, I know how you feel when you go into the basement of that house. Our childhood home had an "atmosphere" like that. First thing I noticed was it felt like someone was watching me. Hang in there - our family owned that particular house for 35+ years and no one was ever harmed.
I think what you do is so awesome, cycling history back out into the world. To touch the things you have, to see the things you have seen, so cool. Thank you for letting us live vicariously through you. A lot of things I’ve seen on here I would have to pay a museum to see normally.
"I know a little about a lot" -- I want a jumper with that quote on it because I believe it describes me very well! And I have learnt a little about a lot of collectable stuff watching these videos.
Alex, Great video! I love listening to you do impressions. My Hubby has lots of "voices" too. 🤣 You & Patrick booked it to get that house cleaned out in 8 1/2 days. Amazing. Looking forward to the next 2 videos. Y'all have a great weekend!
You and Patrick worked crazy hard; cleaning that hoarded house out in 8 days is absolutely incredible!!! 😮 I was tired just watching you!! I think it’s kinda funny that we never collectively named this house… like we did the other clear out houses. 🤔I definitely think you should keep the brown truck along with your cool green one. That canopy is super handy esp in winter, and either vehicle is a great backup for the other, and considering their advanced age that might be good idea to have them both around.
My dad told me that one of his earliest memories was as a six year old child watching the zeppelins coming in to bomb Hartlepool. He was living right on the harbour in Sunderland at the time so had a clear view down the coast. (Pronounced Hartlepool)
Ignore the negative!! I want to thank you! I'm a bit of a hoarder and have a difficult time decluttering because I want to make sure everything has a place or a home. You are great at separating garbage, charitable, and sellable!!! I'm learning from you. I get so overwhelmed and it freezes my progress. You get overwhelmed and keep on going!
You are making millions of judgment calls in each room, based on a huge knowledge base. And you are doing your best to benefit everyone and the environment. Even downsizing/clearing my own house as I moved to a smaller one was stressful and overwhelming. And I had two months to clear, clean and stage the house. Worth it, since I got more for the house than I expected
(Just finished watching the whole thing) WOW!!! 8-1/2 days?!! And just you two guys! Holey 🐄 My good friends came over today to help with Round II of The Big Purge. Still mostly hubby's stuff (plus a bit of mine!). Today it was a metric ton of books! But there's soooo much more to go (I kinda wish it took you guys longer!) Still enjoying the journey and looking forward to the next videos! Thanks! 💜
I am not surprised that you felt the energy from the remains that were in the house. I am an empathic person and very sensitive to those things. Energy can stay attached to objects as well. I probably would have been constantly praying if I was in there or would have had inspirational music playing to put out positive energy. I always appreciate the respect you have for the life situations of others when dealing with their belongings. Looking forward to the rest of the episodes that you share. Blessings to you and your family, thanks for sharing your time with us.

I enjoy watching your Vlogs for many reasons but mostly because you explain everything you do and why you do it. You are extremely interesting in that the treasures you find you really know what they are. Your nine year old self would be amazed at the knowledge you have accumulated over the years.

There’s a video on Josh’s TH-cam from October 31 with him dressed as Alex.
Yes, Joshua Alexander TH-cam, under Live Q&A dated 10/31 you will see Josh dressed as Alex. His impression of Alex; hair, leather jacket, red sneakers etc. At the end of video he say “Bye for now”. Very cute.
@@cyndicunanan400 Thank you! I will check it out!
@@simplycrochet1430 Thank you, I am on my way now to see it!
I agree with you on going through someone's ashes, that's just so wrong in so many ways
Don't let the naysayers bother you. You are one of the kindest hard-working persons I've seen on TH-cam. Anyone who's subscribed to your channel knows this. By far one of my favorites on TH-cam.
I never miss a hoarder house episode! I love when you are going through houses like this one! Are you going to film yourself sorting?
What’s different about you, is that you care about the people who are living and passed on. That is why I like watching your hoarder house clean ups.
I have been binge watching watching this series of videos . I have greatly enjoyed the videos. Well done.
You and your family are the epitome of GOOD PEOPLE! Thank you!
I’m glad you see some value in the videos, and it’s good to hear you’re letting some things go :)
Haven't seen you for a bit. Always somehow a comfort to be in your presence!
Also, I am VERY grateful for the content you share, even if I have wishes and hopes and if I get annoyed I hope you will never take on my feelings as your own.
Alex, you need to keep that throne. Put it in front of the fireplace. Patrick is really soft spoken and shy. He's cute, too!
Agreed but it also struck me that Patrick seemed a little sad but it might just be his unease of being on camera
I can't believe you got through all of that in only 8 days!!! That is just amazing.
Everytime you do these I'm shocked. The toy warehouse was crazy fast too.
You have no idea how much happiness you bring to people! Screw the negative people! ALL CAPS I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!! 😂😂😂😂😂
Great series! For those of us that love old ephemera it is sometimes hard to see beautiful papers and old magazines head for the trash!
Alex, some people are always going to think the worst. We all know you are a really caring, understanding young man. Do not even give those comments your precious time. My Son Brandon worked with you and he said you are a great guy! :)
When I saw what you did for Hans, and other things you have done, the care you take with the precious memories of these people is second to none. You just take care of you and your family, and we will watch you and send our blessings! 😌😌😌
That house was huge and very clean with boxes to the ceilings. Crazy. You and Patrick did well.
You are a beautiful caring lovely family , love the hoarder house videos , and you give back anything you think is important to family etc. Such hard worker Alex ! Blessings to you and your family 🥰
exactly. so respectful of the family's wishes.
That was so awesome what you did donating stuff to the thrift stores. I love it.
I have enjoyed your channel for 2 years! First comment from me. I
started viewing at the Potters house series.
I haven’t seen a harder working man like you! The bonus is your graciousness, kindness, generosity, and positivity. You are what’s right in the world!
Thank you Alex for your service in showing the value of things that people have collected and the gentlemanly way you speak of them.
Good recommendation. Yes, as for Marie Kondo method, after a while, I just didn't care if my socks were happy or not!🤣
@@sweetbriarcottage Eveything brings me joy in my house. I just have too much
I’ve been watching for years now and I’d just like to say hearing you talk about your kids in any episode is always so wholesome.
I'm impressed you got that house cleared so quickly, your method works.
Alex, Great video! I love listening to you do impressions. My Hubby has lots of "voices" too. 🤣 You & Patrick booked it to get that house cleaned out in 8 1/2 days. Amazing. Looking forward to the next 2 videos. Y'all have a great weekend!
I give you credit on being so positive all the time I only wish I could be that way.
OMG watching you clear out this house is fascinating!
I came across a video of you taking Madame Rach for a ride, completely stopped my heart. What a special lady. Thank you
You are making millions of judgment calls in each room, based on a huge knowledge base. And you are doing your best to benefit everyone and the environment. Even downsizing/clearing my own house as I moved to a smaller one was stressful and overwhelming. And I had two months to clear, clean and stage the house. Worth it, since I got more for the house than I expected
(Just finished watching the whole thing)
WOW!!! 8-1/2 days?!! And just you two guys! Holey 🐄
My good friends came over today to help with Round II of The Big Purge. Still mostly hubby's stuff (plus a bit of mine!). Today it was a metric ton of books!
But there's soooo much more to go (I kinda wish it took you guys longer!)
Still enjoying the journey and looking forward to the next videos! Thanks! 💜
For myself, I’m anxious for the next project! This one has been a wonderful adventure You consistently provide great content!
Unbelievable that you accomplished that much in 8 1/2 days !! You clearly have a focused way of working
This old woman, from Tennessee, loves watching your channel! Your various enterprises keeps this channel as one of the best on TH-cam!
"One man's trash is another's treasure..."To me this would be extremely hard making all of these decisions ! I applaud you for the job you and Patrick have been doing ! Thank you for sharing and pray you will be successful and be justly rewarded when all is said in done. Thank you for sharing.
I enjoy watching your Vlogs for many reasons but mostly because you explain everything you do and why you do it. You are extremely interesting in that the treasures you find you really know what they are. Your nine year old self would be amazed at the knowledge you have accumulated over the years.
Alex , you and family are saving history, keeping furniture and usable items out the landfills. The haters will be negative. People love what you do. You are one of the few people who can say they love what you do.
You are working sooo hard, people do not realise how much it takes to clear a house. Love your videos good luck with the auction.
I love your sense of humour, and commentary when you’re looking through stuff. And your shaggy impression is spot on. Love it!
I love that you look after and take care of the hoarder houses good on you and Patrick
Congratulations on your first sale! I hope you continue having great successes in your auctions. You work so hard, always help others, and absolutely deserve the very best.
The queen lived by a great mantra, ‘never complain, never explain.’. It is obvious how hard you work.
I would just like to thank you for sharing this with us. I think you always do the right thing. It's been a lot of fun watching this house clean out. 👍
Someone said something about letting Harley dealerships know about the Predator.
Just wanted to add Alex, it’s human to focus on the negative. I have been following you and Melissa since the potters house, you do what you do with the best of intention. Amazing achievement to empty that house in 8 1/2 days Herculean effort. Ignore the haters.
I would hope for every negative comment you receive there are hundreds of is cheering you on and thanking you for the super content. You are the best of the best! Sending you and your family hugs from Regina, SK.
8.5 days... That's impressive Alex!
You should teach others your style of presentation. You flow from one scene to the other & find your engaging sense of humor excellent & positive. To include your family & workers only enhances each presentation. The Only subscription I have.
Keep up the wonderful work, very touched when you mentioned Miss Mary passing.
Thank You. Allthea Walker
You’re probably starting to feel a little claustrophobic with all those boxes surrounding you Alex..You guys have done an epic job in getting that all sorted out in only 9 days or so…love your video’s…you’ll be done before you know it and I’m wishing you a grand profit after all that hard work. Take care and happy upcoming holidays to you and the entire family.Enjoy your first Christmas in your beautiful new home. :)
I love seeing yours and Patrick’s friendship. I think you bring out some good things from each other. There is nothing like friends. I never take advantage of my strong friendships.
I think I visualize the china unboxing in fast motion. With stopping to show amazing finds. so much china! Loving your reveals from this house. Thank you☮️💜
I love your channel and what you do. You are a positive person is why I keep watching you. Please keep up the good work.
When I was growing up, I’m now 71, we had a ouija board and it was just a game for fun. Didn’t have any creepy reason for having it. That didn’t stop us from having ghostly and fun spooky games. I’m so glad you and Patrick were able to get this house cleaned out so fast. Fran
You keep doing you Alex. ❤ Love your content and how fiercely you care about those around you. 😊
I so enjoy all of your videos. You are truly a good, ethical person. I think the energy lightened in the house cause you cleaned out the hoard and all the negative emotions associated with creating such a living space. Good job.
I'm going through a hoarder house right now. I sure wish I had you and Patrick here to help!!
Sorry to have missed your live video as it was a busy errand day, but am watching now. Always nice to watch you and for giving us all such a nice detailed info on what’s new with everything. Happy for you that your selling is doing well so far👍👍
I can’t believe you two cleared that house out in 8 days. When you first showed the house I thought you would really be cutting it close in a month!! Your a working beast!! I’m gonna take a nap cause you wore me out just thinking about it 😂
I have been watching your channel for a year now. Your beautiful soul has touched so many. Your family glows and warms my heart. Thank you for bringing these folks incredible stories to light one box at a time. Thank you for all you do! 🌈
I’ve never seen anybody work as hard as you do you inspire me
I’m very excited to see a livestream of the auction. I love seeing the final step on these items’ journeys.
