We have JMU, App State, Coastal Carolina, and Marshall in the East, and the leader of that division is the Monarchs of Old Dominion, a 3-3 team. (Conference record 2-0 btw)
ODU's out of conference sked was one of, if not, the most difficult non-conference slate out there for a G5. 2 P5's, and two good G5's in Liberty and ECU, no FCS games to ensure the chance at a bowl. Monarchs might be legit when it's all said and done this season.

I don't understand storming the field after beating a team only ranked 25 and in their first year in the top division. I mean if beating JMU is that big a deal you've got serious issues. I went to JMU, so I know how little of a deal it is to beat us!
It was the fact that everyone everywhere was sitting on us saying you guys would beat us by 45 and shit. When it was 14-17 at half everyone in the student section said, "if we beat them we storm the field" idk. I stormed the field and it was fun as fuck im ngl. Great game tho

Sorry but James Madison shouldn't even be in the top 25 to begin with. Not to be mean, you're telling me they deserve to be in the top 25 over North Carolina and Coastal Carolina before Week 7?
JMU was undefeated. North Carolina was not. It's pretty easy to think an undefeated team should be ranked more than a team with losses
@@kevinthejuice North Carolina has a tougher schedule. If JMU was in the ACC, they would lose a ton of games. UCF was undefeated in 2017 and they weren't in the top 10. Strength of schedule matters.
@@erichawkland1887 Strength of schedule is flawed reasoning using inconsisent arguments to determine the quality of a team based on how impressive they are, overused by people that typically ignore that it's not the sole decider for if a team is good or not. I get you're trying to side with the belief that JMU isn't as good as they seem because of who they played but UNC has the same # of ranked wins as JMU. Your other example was Coastal Carolina who's in the same conference, and has the same # of ranked wins.
There's current teams in the ACC that lose a lot of games so like are they good because their strength of schedule since it matters so much to you? or are you just applying that concept whenever it's convenient?

@@randomdude7676 depends on poll inertia and timing of the loss. But yeah that's completely fine. Top 25 rankings are more of a list of good teams than the absolute best argument you're wanting. By your logic a sec team can start the season 0-2 and they should be above anyone in the sun belt. I mean the idea that anyone in the sec with 2 losses is automatically better than someone is asinine to begin with. Like cmon.
