Come back to India??? Physicians returning from the US to India annually can be counted on a fingertip. I myself wanted to go back to India, when I started my PG journey to UK and finally US back in 1998. But once here, I just couldn't see myself fit in the "chalta-hai/yahan tu aise hee hota hai miserable Indian attitude" and decided never to go back except on my own terms. Why is this personal decision of where people want to settle and practice medicine discussed so defensively by these persons? People have a right to choose where they want to live and how much they want to earn. One is born only once. Anyone bettering oneself professionally, moving to a better country to live a better quality of life and earning more is not a matter of shame. Show me one Indian who doesn't aspire to do this. These very physicians who are asking people to come back when they are doing better abroad will be the first ones to move out of India if given the chance. As for "Dr Mahender" wand why he he is in the very few who do move back? Well, we need his full story. There may be very strong personal reasons to do so-parents, wife, family, well-established hospital in India, ot doing so well in the US system or getting fired from a job. Just because someone returns to India doesn't mean they are a saint. I had a Neurologist colleague who did all his neurology PG training including a Cerebrovascular Diseases and Interventional Neurology fellowship in the US. He was going to earn between $500,000 to $1.2 million annually in the US at 34 yrs of age. But his father was a leading Neurologist in Guntur with 2 hospitals and a large patient referral base. He went back as his long-term prospects are better there. Decisions like these are personal, and one should not play the pseudo-jingoist/pseudo-patriotic card here.

I would like say, there is no big Knowledge difference between Doctors in India and US.
In develop countries you see all kind of pts and you can do all the investigation and treat as per guidelines and follow up of pts is much better in abroad.

Clinical experience is good in India but working hours, infrastructure and research is 1000 times better in USA.. Almost 80% diseases we share with US are the same 🙌
