Fun Fact: The FBI profiler is Hayley Mills. She is the actress that played the twins in The Original Parent Trap in 1961 and was Miss Bliss in the first three seasons of Saved by the Bell, which was originally called Good Morning Miss Bliss but later just titled the reruns later to Saved by the Bell.
So glad to see a positive review. Josh’s character had to deal with internal emotions that made him “weird” at times and almost unbelievable but that's realistic because he was working it all out as he went, WHILE trying to not let his daughter know what was going on. I also think thr twist was the location change. Cuz then you say, “now what?” this isn't what we expected to see. Now anything can happen.
As for "almost unbelievable" I presume it's probably done to show when Cooper's dark side takes over but he tries to act like a friendly guy at the same time, which doesn't always come naturally to Cooper, as he's not a very good actor for a serial killer) So I considered those moments a positive aspect of the film. Twist was about tickets receipt I guess)
I personally liked this film and I wasn’t bored at all. And there were folks that hated it, thought it was trash and so on. Not to mention going as far as saying that M. Night’s daughter ruined the film because she took too much screen time and I’m just like “So what of it?” I didn’t care and just accepted it. Josh Hartnett totally killed it with him as a villain and definitely left an impression of me. So people can hate the film all they want, but that doesn’t mean that other folks like myself are going to play follow the leader and immediately agree with one individual or two. I didn’t have the will to listen to bad review videos with people coming out with bad takes, but I had the will to listen to your review. And solid review 👍🏾
I loved the entire first act of the film until he escaped the concert and then it they just give M.Night's daughter's Character soooo much screentime(not to mention her acting is bad) without any build-up what so ever And she just left after so many scenes that doesn't do anything to her character at all. The butcher is the only character I genuinely rooted. Glad they kept him alive.
I watched Trap again. Some puzzle pieces fell into place) I pay attention on the constant switching between the light side (loving father) and the dark side (serial killer) of Hartnett's character throughout the film, even coexisting in some scenes (The Dreamer Girl scene, Riley on stage and profiler nearby, also scene Cooper listening Where Did She Go at home) and the contrast between Lady Raven's concepts of "wholeness" and Cooper's concepts of "pieces". Great parallels comparing the minor characters playing by Kid Cudi and Russ. The Thinker is dual: one side for public and other side for those nearby, Parker always stable. A particularly interesting moment is the worsening of Cooper’s illness since childhood due to his mother’s inability to adequately help him. That theme starts from Release song in the beginning of the movie and ends conversation with Lady Raven and Cooper's wife. So my conclusion is M.Night wrote script for viewers who might think about dark and light sides in each of us and how it affects our loved ones, and how they affects us.
100%. I was very surprised at how good he performed and how memorable his character was despite such a short screen time. I would like to see a continuation of this story!
The same. M.Night and Josh did a really good job of creating the stadium scenes so you could empathize with Cooper to get out. Hell, I even empathized his light side later, while he was listening to Where Did She Go at home. What a brilliant performance by Josh Hartnett!
Just watched the movie today. Really enjoyed it and Josh Hartnett was incredible!! Knew he’d kill the role after watching him in the Black Mirror Beyond the Sea episode.
this movie was SO crazy with SO many twists and turns like half of me wanted him to get caught so many times and the other half of me was not surprised on how he kept getting away. and their SO MANY red flag hear and their and hearing people laughing and snickering in the crowd like we could all see the RED flag.and the ending how he took the spike off the bike wheel to pick the lock to his handcuffs I did not see that until someone in the crowd called it out when the camera turned back to the bike to show that one of the spike was missing. also is this movie based on a true story ?
I really loved this movie. Obviously there were some things that were kind of sus like how the wife handled things & the limo scene but they also made it an even better thriller at the same time. The only thing I didn’t care for was the mom of his daughter’s friend. She was just annoying. I thought the twists were really well done and the ending was perfect plus the mid credit scene was funny. It opened the door for more from this character too!
this movie was pretty cool, glad they tried something new. but it needed more josh hartnett, he killed his role, i’d like to see more of this character in the future
Unfortunately, Last Airbender is an overproduced studio film. I was so happy when I found out that since The Visit he has been making films entirely with his own money and no one interferes with his creative process.
Just watched it. I was entertained. Josh Hartnett prep time skills rivaled Batman. Nah eff that, I was rooting for him. M Night daughter was F'n GORGEOUS. M Night come at me bro, I can't help it. Much respect tho. Another Shyamalan banger 💯.
You should never take reviews seriously. Watch and decide on your own. Shyamalan makes good movies, people just like to overhype them too much. I enjoyed Old even though it had terrible reviews, along with The Visit among others
@@robdurfee6861the visit was mediocre. Knock at the cabin that one was pretty decent(even tho it came out last year feels like it came out years ago). I actually got this movie spoiled already by reviewers and the movie sounds idiotic If I’m being honest.

Didn’t like the movie nun too crazy didn’t happen didnt actually see him be crazy he had the same person trapped the whole movie idk I was expecting a lil bit more crazier scenes since it was labeled as a horror movie
Great idea but very poorly executed to me. The movie was not thrilling in the slightest, and didn’t become interesting until the third act. The real trap was M night making listen to his daughter’s music.

@@Str52849 yes. That’s what I mean. And to me, that’s really well done and probably overlooked by many.
After seeing Josh Hartnett in this I think he would be the perfect Two-Face for James Gunn’s DCU.

Idk cause realistically there are gonna be hella guards there as soon as he steps out
Did you catch the mid-credit scene? The guy was like, “wait, that was Cooper? I ain’t talking to anyone at work ever again!”
